If you need wifi reconsider this site.
Mobile phone signal poor so needed to use the WiFi.
Very very poor speeds. We had full WiFi signal strength but speed was shocking.
We stopped here for one night as a stop over. Easy access and the surroundings were fantastic. I found the site staff very friendly and helpful. The site was well kept and the facilities were spotless. There was a huge, totally secure dog walking area and a well equipped children’s play ground. When I went to leave the next morning I noticed that my breakaway cable was 100%. They stocked them in the shop and the price was not over inflated at all. Would love to go back for a longer stay.
Stayed in July with kids. Site is fine as a base but there is not much to do on site or within walking distance so everyday we went out in the car, there are lots of good things to do within 30 mins. Play area only for over 5’s. Nice clean facilities. Our stay was marred by other caravaners warning us on arrival about recent bike thefts on site which made us feel insecure and the constant packs of dogs barking on the adjacent council run caravan site, which spoiled any peace and quiet. The wardens didn’t mention the noise when we checked it, if they had we would have pitched on the other side of the site.
We visited in late June, mainly to meet up with friends in the area. We have been here before, about 8 years back, and not much has changed.
Facilities were clean, wardens were welcoming, and this time we were pitched right up the top end, past the facilities block. This was much better, and quieter, than being on one of the pitches that sit in the area between the 2 roads.
We were not disturbed by dogs barking on the adjacent site, nor by any road noise as we were far enough away from the road.
Ideally, we would have booked a serviced pitch, but knowing how close they are to the road, we decided against it.
Only downside we experienced was the speed of passing site traffic, motorhomes in particular were doing well over the requested 5mph, dangerous as there were quite a few small children around.
Site was clean location was not that great if you have not got a car bus service was every 2 hours into Poole
Found the staff quite abrupt every site we had been on for the last 2 weeks this site was the only one we had to wait to get on to. staff wasnt as friendly as the staff have been all other sites seems like everything was a chore to them
We really enjoyed our stay here. The site is very clean and peaceful, though we were here before and after 'freedom day', and the start of the school holidays, and did notice it becoming busier. Everything was very good, except maybe the facilities ie washing & washing up, compared to other sites.
We enjoyed visiting the Swanage area most days, which is about 10 miles but a nice drive past Corfe Castle, and not too busy. We had a pizza from 'Street Pizza' in Wareham which was really good!
If you rely on 4G, our Vodafone and 3 mobile signals were very poor.
We'd definitely stay again.
We’ve had several holidays at this site & have always enjoyed them. It’s in a great location for Wareham, Studland Bay & coastal walks. We had a great fortnight there. Every day we were off site from late morning to early evening, but in the time that we were on site, we didn’t hear any dogs barking. The facilities were always immaculately clean. Our only criticism of the site was the area of maintenance on the pitches, grass cutting & tree & bush maintenance. There were lots of weeds on the hardstandings & the grass between pitches was very long. We were off the main road through the site and it seemed the area around the main road had its grass cut more regularly. Trees & bushes required some pruning.
Stayed here for 9 nights in July and was very disappointed. This site needs some serious TLC. Trees need maintenance and the gravel pitches are weed infested and were waterlogged. WiFi non existent and phone signal poor …we have had better in 3rd world countries we have visited !!
We were on a gravel pitch but still got washed out in the heavy rain , this was made all the worse by the fact that when I went to check in at reception a joke was made that the pitch flooded …which was retracted as soon as said but no one bothered to see if we were okay after the heavy rain.
To add insult to injury the grass around our pitch was very over grown and not cut until the day before we left and the bottom of our van at the back has been caught by the mower ( we didn’t notice until we got home !), and the cut our neighbours tv aerial. Shambles … I would recommend at the moment !!
COME ON CAMHC you have raked in 50 million plus in fees get some spent on these seriously tired sites before we all start using independent caravan parks !!
Great site with excellent facilities, located next to Wareham Forest where you can walk or ride till your hearts content.
Staff very helpful, always willing to help you have a great stay. We rate it 9/10
This is an excellent site which we have visited on previous occasions and which sits in the heart of Dorset surrounded by wonderful places to visit.
The wardens were excellent and could not have been more friendly and helpful and contributed to us spending 8 lovely days on the site.
However .... the site is looking tired and is in desperate need of a bit of tree management to make some trees safe and to avoid future claims for damage to caravans resulting from falling branches during windy weather and from foliage from many overhanging and fragile looking trees that now reaches down and scrape the tops of 'Rigs' on many of the pitches. This is especially the case on pitches on the boundaries of the site.
Dogs barking from an adjoining site could sometimes be a nuisance but only appeared to affect pitches to the northern boundary area.
Overall a good experience but "come on Caravan Club, please address the ever growing problem of some of the trees.
Thank you .... we will visit this site again in the future.
