Enjoyable Christmas & New Year break
We have stayed at Hillhead for many years including the last two Christmas & New Years. Can't do anything about the weather which again wasn't good and being on a hill the wind is constant and there is very little shelter but we love the Torbay area and Hillhead is handy for visiting the towns of Torbay and also Dartmouth, Totnes etc are only a short drive away or for those without a car the buses stop regularly outside the site gates so everywhere in the area is easily accessible by public transport. We have always found the site to be well maintained and the toilet/shower blocks very clean and warm. Wardens are pleasant and helpful. We don't use the club facilities on Christmas Day or New Years Eve as we prefer to do our own thing but these two ticket only days are popular and need to be booked well in advance. We have 2 dogs and the dog field here is secure, there are lovely areas for walking them near the site and they are allowed on all of the local beaches. Overall a great site and we will certainly be returning.
