Just got back after a 3 night break here. The wardens and cleanliness of the site are as expected.
However the road noise is terrible(we were up at the top of the site) as the road traffic is relentless. Many pitches are in need of attention and the Motorhome point is very poor, having the single manhole for grey waste and then the road is blocked due to it being too narrow to pass while a Motorhome is servicing. We were woken daily by site users heading off to work at 06:00 and some others soon after.
The walk into Henley is easy although during this wet week there is plenty of standing water on the road as the drainage channels are blocked. Plenty of places to eat in Henley and good walking area. First time for us here and it was a visit for my wife to her childhood area but we won't be back.
Great site, busy road
Great location. Spotless facilities and really friendly wardens. We stayed here as a good base to get to Windsor and Legoland. Easy journey to Legoland. Check Windsor castle opening times before you go as it's shut on a Tuesday! Easy walk into Henley but along a busy road - we took lights and were fine. Lots of lovely places to eat. The wardens recommended The Argyle for Sunday Lunch and we loved it.
Good short break
Good location for visiting Heneley and riverside walks.
Note: Walk into and back from Henley adds about 2 miles to you chosen walk from Henley.
Yes next to busy road but this did not affect us.
Site well maintained.
Difficult to pass motorhomes emptying waste just past pitch 78. Should be a layby as grass is getting all churned up.
Appear to be short drives to visit Marlow and NT properties but didn't manage it this stay.

Don't pitch near the exit barrier
The staff are pleasant and the facilities are clean. 10-15 minutes walk to the town.
We chose pitch 64 which has the exit barrier next to it, don't choose this spot if you are a light sleeper, from 6.50am to 7.20am four cars left the site & only one was considerate, the others opened their door to get their fob to the barrier, radios on loud & then slam the door as they drive off.
You have to lift the grid to empty your motorhome grey waste, the position of the vans to do this doesn't leave much room for others to go around so they end up on the grass which is now just a muddy mess.
Try the site next door
Standard CMHC site all very clean and tidy with flat pitches and good clean toilet facilities. TV signal was poor but good with cable to the bollard. wifi worked fine but probably different in the summer holidays. We were pitched on the far side of the site away from the road so nice and peaceful. Short walk into town and plenty to do in the area. I booked early and can't complain about the price but a lot of others who booked later paid a lot more. Next time in the area I would use the Swiss Farm site next door much better facilities for a similar price.
Great location for visiting Henley and surrounding areas but on very busy road
Lovely site, friendly and helpful staff. Like having a separate toilet to use when main block closed for cleaning. No drive over waste disposal (if there was we didn’t find it). Information hut full and pretty much up to date. Walking to and from Henley only 20 mins but traffic passes very close. Also no lighting on main road after you pass the bus stop had to use our phones. Also footpaths need clearing quite muddy. Bus stop outside Swiss Farm campsite a few hundred yards down the road with regular buses into Henley or we caught one to Marlow, lovely place to visit.
Good location for Henley
We have stayed on this site several times and always been satisfied. The facilities are well kept and clean, though there is only one block which closes between 1030 - 1230. There is only one MH service point necessitating careful planning during busy periods. The site wardens are welcoming and try to provide some basic amenities such as foodstuffs and papers. The main issue is noise. The road, adjacent to the site, is busy and fast (40 mph) with traffic starting early. Best to try and get a pitch towards the back of the site. Additionally, when we last stayed (January) there were vehicle movements on site after 2230 and before 0615. Good public transport (bus) links are a 500m walk away.
Return visit
We like to visit this site due to its location namely a 20 minute walk into the town of Henley which we really like. Very dark path along an unlit road, a torch is a must have.
The site itself ticks our boxes but things could be improved for the benefit of the members in general.
THOUGHTS.
1.00 pm arrival, not any earlier is harsh! The site is no more prepared than at 9.00am!
Showers closed at 10.30 am - way too early, 11.00 am would be a lot fairer and holiday/ short break friendly.
Taps and pipework need more lagging to be winter ready and effective.
Motorhome point ( water etc) causes a bottle neck due to its location, it could be easily improved/ road widened.
Energy could be saved by having less heat in the kitchen and laundry, these places only need to be aired really.
Ask the local highways to improve the path into Henley, it just needs all the over growth cutting/ shovelling back.
Very expensive for what you get.
All in all though it's a good site for us and we look forward to our next visit.
Great location spoiled by noise
This is a lovely, well-maintained site in a convenient location for Henley & surrounding area. As such we enjoyed our stay, exploring the town, riverside walks & neighbouring attractions. However, our experience was overshadowed by the incessant. loud noise from the adjacent road, which is VERY busy with heavy traffic even in mid-October. In addition, the site seems to be under a flight path, so jets were passing every few minutes from around 6am each day. We are not used to traffic noise, so found this very intrusive. We would certainly return to Henley & to the area, but not to this site. The neighbouring site is preferable because its pitches are set back from the road and much quieter.
2 night stay
Nice site, noisy and busy road but died down and didn't disturb us unduly. Toilet block excellent. Staff were a bit off with us when we arrived at 12.45 and sent us away until 1pm. Fine for us with a campervan but a bit of a task if you are towing a caravan, surely not a problem to wait for 15 minutes rather than having to go back through Henley town centre towing. Nice 10 minute walk to town centre, lovely river walks, boat trips and plenty of places to eat and drink. Overall nice stay for a couple of days.
