Nice site

Would love to be here on a race day. Site was very full but everyone friendly. We found the Avenue public house served very good food and did a couple of real ales very close by but only found this through the internet. about 4mins walk from the site. Found walk to beach was a bit further than thought due to not walking very well. Will be coming back especially on a race meet.

Lovely site

Stayed at site for 14 nights from 30th July. Got a very friendly warm welcome from the wardens, they couldn't be nicer, they couldn't do enough for their guests. The site is extremely clean and well looked after. The horse racing was on 3 days whilst we were there and we enjoyed watching it from the site. On two of these days, there was live music which we thoroughly enjoyed, it added atmosphere to the evenings and we liked the music that was being played. The site is a good base for visiting surrounding areas too, Gorleston on Sea being just down the road which hosted a great sandy beach. All in all, we had a great holiday.

Noisy the two nights we stayed

We stayed on this site last weekend (Friday & Saturday), the site was fully booked which is to be expected in August so felt a bit cramped. Our main issue was the noise from the racing club both days, loud heavy music spoilt any opportunity to sit outside and enjoy a nice peaceful evening. In all fairness the music stopped by about 10.30pm so at least our sleep was not disturbed. If we had been aware there was an event on at the racing club we could have made an informed decision about whether to book on this site. We had been touring the week before and was looking forward to a quiet and peaceful few days before heading home. The location of the site is perfect for visiting Great Yarmouth and an ideal spot for exploring the local area. The facilities on site are of the usual caravan club standard.

Great Site

This is the second year we have stayed here and we love the site. We took your three grandson for the second time here who love the playground and have met and played happily with other children on site, with no issues. The wardens are incredibly friendly and helpful and they keep the site in spotless condition. The showers and toilets are very clean and never too busy. The site is well organised for necessities - reception sells the basics bread, milk etc, a fish n chip van visits if I had to have a dig about one thing it would be plot 20 to close to the play ground

Wonderful site

This is the second year we have stayed here and we love the site. We have two boys who love the playground and have met and played happily with other children on site, with no issues. The wardens are incredibly friendly and helpful and they keep the site in spotless condition. The showers and toilets are very clean and never too busy.  The site is well organised for necessities - reception sells the basics bread, milk etc, a fish n chip van visits twice a week and there is a daily ice cream van. During our stay we visited the races once and watched from the site once. Both times were a fabulous experience for us and our boys - if you are not prepared to embrace the atmosphere of the races in its entirety then don't visit during the racing calendar but if you are it is a wonderful experience to be so close to the action. All in all, once again we had a fabulous stay on site and we can't wait to book again for next year!!

Racing views

Great day at the races and did not leave the van. Abbey saw a huge TV go up and wanted CBeebies....... Horses were around us from 07.30 and good to watch the day set up. Busy time of year, for the staff but 2 cars on some plots and vans taking up two pitches, should be sorted...........

Tired old site

Not a very good time and not a flag ship for the caravan club. Not very clean and worn out. Went for the racing which was good, but did not expect the noise and drunken behaviour from other events on the racecourse and people staying on the site. Will not return and it all went over the wardens head.

Fab time with grandson

Very welcoming and friendly wardens unlike some of the little Hitler's we have encountered. The site has a lovely open feel, generally very level and well drained. As we had our grandson with us we were not particularly seeking peace and quiet and the way the site is laid out encourages interaction and we found other campers to be very friendly which we enjoyed.Toilets and showers were very clean and never too busy .Our grandson enjoyed cycling on the seafront, sampling the numerous cafes adjacent to the beach on the way, playing crazy golf, trying out the furnace, sea life centre etc. One of the friendliest cc sites we have stayed on.We will return.

Great Facilities, lovely wardens

Stayed 4 nights as very close to home and we had only just collected our caravan. It's location makes it ideal for the beach or trips into the town. We stayed during a race meeting and enjoyed the thrill of the races and the live BeTles Tribute afterwards. The toilets and showers were very clean and overall I would say this is a perfect site for visitors to the town & horse racing lovers. Also, the very good links golf course at Caister.

Was not impressed initialy

We stayed here with our 11 year old grandson for 4 nights, having not been before. First impressions when we first saw the site on arrival were not good. However the lady warden we saw was very helpful and pointed out available pitches and suggested a couple that she thought may be the best. We settled on a pitch that did not seem to be as hemmed in as many of them were. Once set up and found our bearings we began to warm to the site slightly. Toilet and shower facilities looked fairly new and were clean, but we could not understand the reason for the design of having the wash basins at the very far end of the block, not handy at all for hand washing on the way out, and I noticed many people did not bother. Our biggest concern was the fact that on race days there was a period of 5 or 6 hours that the site gate was closed and vehicles were not allowed on or off the site, which meant that if we went out and were not back before the gate closed we had to find parking for the car on a street outside of the site, luckily after a bit of driving around we found somewhere not too far away, had it been raining it would have made matters worse for the walk back to the van. This is not the sort of thing you should have to plan for on holiday. There is no warning about this in the club book or web site, all it says is that no arrivals to the site on any race day. Unfortunately we were caught up in the road chaos caused by the fire in town, took us 1h 20m to do 3/4 mile when going home. Not the fault of the site I hasten to add.
