Race to get back

Just got home, booked to re-visit soon and on race day, this time. Lovely site, great outlook and very relaxing. Close to the beach, 1/2 mile and a nice long walk, 2 miles, along the prom, to the pleasure beach. Great 2 night stay, lovely hosts, very clean and well set out.

Good Wardens

After working in Norfolk for so many years, I didn't use this site as it would have been a "busman's holiday", however now being retired we thought we would attend one of our centre rallies on site and see what it was like, a pleasant surprise. The block appeared to be almost new and very smart, and the wardens were excellent, always had the time of day to chat, and with such a large site they do very well. We are dog owners and it is a bit of a trek to the dunes, but some irresponsible dog owners seem to think it was to far, or to much trouble, and thought it was the wardens job to clear up after there dogs, please don't spoil it for us responsible owners. As there were 'non club' members in the area, gate security was in place but it gave us all peace of mind.

Fabulous

We booked this site to go to the races...which was fab, by the way, but it had so much more. The wardens are amazing, helpful, friendly and endlessly patient and cheery. Nothing is too much trouble. The site is brilliant, it has lovely pitches and a great washrooms. For us it was brilliant, cycling into Yarmouth was easy and enjoyable, flat and cycle routes all the way. You can also cycle to Caister, on cycle routes, the Yarmouth arena for dog racing and other events. We stayed extra days, a surprise for us as on arrival we thought we had booked too long a stay, it turned out the opposite!!!  The races was excellent too , you can go back to the site at any time. The only down side as no wi fi ....please sort this CC? The site would be perfect with that as well.

Weekend away

We stayed here for 2 nights last weekend as we were meeting friends staying at the Haven site night door. It was a lovely site with great facilities and a very unique location. Our kids enjoyed the playground and it was a perfect base for what we needed for the weekend. Our kids were the only ones on site but were made to feel very welcome.

How Prices Vary

Nice central site to see all surrounding locations, Wardens very helpful and are a credit to the organisation. Just spent 3 nights here basically for the price it costs for 2 nights we spent at Seacroft. Why is it so dear at Seacroft and a lot cheaper at Great Yarmouth. ?? ????

Shame about the lack of signage re one-way rules

Nice enough site. Spoilt for us by lack of advice re one-way rules on site. On booking in we were not advised that there was a one-way system; we were given the usual map and told to look for a pitch, which we did. Having driven round, and decided on a pitch we had passed at the beginning of our "tour", we could not see how to get out, the barrier was down. So we turned round and went back, incurring the wrath of a fellow-caravanner who showed his displeasure by shouting, which we could not hear as we had the windows closed, and given his angry expression we were not inclined to open them! I should add at this point that the "road" is quite wide with ample room for the turning manoeuvre. We did not know at that point what his problem was, only thought of this when we had pitched and cooled down. When I took this up with the warden/assistant warden later, I was told that if we had gone closer to the barrier it would have opened automatically. I then looked to see if there was any signage we had missed; couldn't find any. There are no arrows on the site map we were given, no signs to indicate a one-way route at all. As you can tell, it wasn't the best start to our break. Otherwise the campsite is fine, and no doubt if you go there regularly you will know all the rules. We probably won't be back.

Lovely site wardens great

We was at the site from 22nd June for 5 nights. The site was well kept. The wardens were fantastic and always had a smile. We have never fancied going on a race course but this site certainly changed our mind. We had a lovely time and will go again we were there when the racing was on, it was great.

Wardens take a bow

Clean, well presented site where the quality of stewardship from the wardens was first class. Will be revisiting. Regular bus service from just outside the gates, which will take you up or down the coast, although the more energetic will enjoy the walk along the promenade.

A great visit - again

Just had another great weekend at Great Yarmouth (pardon the pun). The journey to GY is an easy drive / tow along good wide roads. The entrance to the site reception is easy to get to providing you arrive post 12.00. The previous reviews praising the wardens are spot-on – you will find a very warm relaxed welcome from practical wardens who understand the differing challenges and requirements of our caravan / motorhome community. The site feels very wide and open and with our 9m motorhome it was easy to navigate to our desired pitch. Not all pitches are level; but we can recommend 101. The MWP is easy to access and the toilet block; plus wider facilities, are to the usual CC standard. Ice Cream man visits daily and fish & chip man turns up on Saturday – however, our waistline reduction plan barred us from sampling what was on offer ?. A 5-minute easterly walk and you arrive on the grassland that preempts the beach – fantastic for dog walking and viewing the shipping lanes. Some fellow campers opted for the local taxi service that took them into the heart of GY or Caister to enjoy the wider delights of the seaside. As we are less than 50 miles away this is a site we will continue to visit and hopefully we will time our next visit with a race meeting. We recommend you give this site a try.

Yet to be beaten!!!

This is a fab site, great location, very clean and tidy with a relaxed atmosphere. The wardens are the best ever. They are always, happy, helpful and can not do enough for you to make your stay as good as it can be. Thank you both very much and we'll see you both again soon.
