Ticks the boxes for us

The lady warden here has to be the best and most friendly one we have met. A warm welcome and friendly smile throughout our stay, and could not have been more helpful. The site was also well kept, and is handy for the bus or a walk along the coast. Beach is only 5 mins walk. Enjoyed the stay and will use again.

A great stay

Our first stay at the Gt Yarmouth site, very easy to find, and facilities are the best we have found so far. On the bus route for Caister and Gt Yarmouth town although the walk to the town is not that far. The wardens are very helpful and polite and keep essentials such as bread, milk, cake and various biscuits in their office. You have to cross the racetrack to enter and leave the site, our first night there was torrential rain and there were large puddles to negotiate, wet feet for a while. There is a fish and chip van that visits the site a couple of times a week, excellent fish and several ice cream vans also visited during our stay. Caister Castle/car collection is worth a visit as are the museums in Gt Yarmouth. Certainly a site I would recommend.

Characterless

The site is characterless, bland and lacks personality. Lighting at night is poor and only bollards providing lighting. Waste bins are in your face as you drive around the site, and need to be more discreet and out of view. Pitches are too close together, with little room for vehicles moving around between units. Foliage was growing from the guttering on the toilet block suggesting a lack of maintenance. There is no dog walking facility on site, yet the site allows dogs on, and we could see dog fouling on the site on vacant pitches. Yes it was picked up, but a site without designated dog walking facilities shouldn't allow dogs on it in my opinion. Toilets were very clean and well looked after and the showers were free with plenty of hot water. Location is great for race goers, and close to Great Yarmouth centre with frequent bus services about 150 metres to the nearest bus stop. Nearby we found 'The Avenue' pub with a great selection of food and drink at good prices, and an excellent Chinese takeaway who deliver to the site gates 'Tasty China'. Excellent location to discover the Norfolk Broads. Overall a great position, but with very basic facilities, and needing some character injecting into it, and control over the dog situation and maintenance of the site.

Early September Break

Very good site with improved/expanded shower facilities since last visit a few years ago. All facilities very spotless and well maintained. We and the dog enjoyed the few minutes walk to the sand dunes and beach, as well as the walk into the town for shops and markets etc. The wardens were pleasent and very helpful and always seemed to have time to speak to everyone. The site was busy but still well kept. Excellent site and we will certainly visit again.

Bank Holiday

Stayed Bank holiday Monday to the following Saturday. Didn't have children so parked well away from the play area. Some road noise but on the whole a very pleasant stay. Wardens friendly and helpful. If you are hoping to be there on a race day check with the course as it can say on the web site that there are spaces available but the wardens know different.

Use this site everytime we visit our relations in Great Yarmouth. Always a warm welcome from the staff and always efficient. Bonus to have small shop in reception for the basic provisions and the local walks for our dog on the beach nearby are fantastic. Toilet blocks are very clean and the showers are of a good size and hot, again another bonus after a long drive.

Visit 16/8-23/8/2016

In a great location and with helpful wardens, this is a nice site. A few things to bear in mind is that the grass racecourse is regularly cut and watered so your vehicle might show signs of the consequent debris scattered around. A nice fish and chip van visits the site every Tuesday and Friday but service is very disorganised and slow. One main toilet block which is regularly cleaned and offers privacy cubicles and sufficient room. Very accommodating for longer units. I have a 34' American RV and found no problem at all. Overall, a nice experience.

Lovely site yo visit. If you have dogs there's a long stretch of sand dunes where you can take them for a walk, ours loved it. We saw a seal every morning around 10:30 hrs which was fab. We walked into Great Yarmouth most days, it reminds me of Blackpool. Around the site there are other beaches you can visit such as Caister or Cromer which are both beautiful. A short drive away you can stock up on food from a Tesco which was bigger than I thought it would be. The scooter convention i thought was great and the noise didn't bother us and we bopped along to the music drinking wine/beer. Oh don't forget to take a trip on the Broads.
