Quiet site with good, clean facilities. Not huge amounts to do for children in the area

We had a fortnight at this nice, smallish site - our first visit. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and worked hard to keep the site and facilities in good condition. Ollie, the great-horned owl was a real bonus and was visible during the day and evening. There's plenty of walking and cycling opportunites and a great Indian restaurant in the village. Grafham Water is worth a visit as are Ely, St Ives, St Neots, the Raptor Foundation, Cambridge, Houghton Mill, Paxton Pits and RSBP Fen Drayton. At the moment, avoid Huntingdon unless you enjoy traffic jams and diversions. on thay subject, the new A1/A14 junctions might play havoc with your satnav. As with many sites, the CAMC insistence on people only arriving after a certain time seems to be ignored both by wardens and visitors alike. Its a bit frustrating to see people being allowed on site up to an hour before they're supposed to arrive, when others bother to follow the rules. Nevertheless, we had a good time thanks.

Lovely small site

This was our second visit to Grafham, sadly only for a few days this time. We were welcomed warmly and the staff were unfailingly cheerful and helpful throughout. The eagle owl is still in attendance! The Grafham location has plenty to offer, especially around the Grafham Water area - good walks, waterspouts etc. We had an excellent dinner in The Wheatsheaf, West Perry on the Saturday evening. We would recommend this site and will happily visit again.

We felt lucky to have chosen this site for our first outing in our motorhome

this site is wonderful, so peaceful, incredibly well maintained and spotlessly clean. We couldn't have wished for a nicer site on our very first trip. All staff - especially Andrew - were so friendly and helpful - always time for a smile and a little chat...brilliant! We will be coming back - and have decided to do that at least once a year

Gem of a site

Had 3 nights here last week, first time and what a lovely site. The wardens were so polite and helpful and the facilities were pristine. We had bikes and the area was great for cycling with a couple of great pubs not too far away. Graham’s itself has community pub with great local ales and we had an excellent meal in the Indian restaurant in the village. We will definitely return.

A great place to stay

This is a very peaceful park to stay at. We had a lovely relaxing week here. This was our first visit here and the check in process was very quick, clear and easy. We had a small issue with the size of our awning but this was quickly sorted out with the staff. It's a great base to explore from with main roads being close by but well out of earshot. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay

Just completed a 4 night stay here- and it was exactly as described. Good walks from the site - great visitor centre about 3 miles ( by foot around the water) - a mile or so by road- and also there is a small water activity centre newly opened this summer which looks to be great fun. We were the last to arrive on Sunday afternoon - but the wardens helpfully identified a suitable pitch which worked very well for us. Challenge for the Club are dog owners who either struggle ( or don’t bother) to stop their dogs barking - at times it sounded like a kennels ! ( in fairness the wardens had words to try and quiten things- but it is reliant on owners co- operation?!)

Our first time…..

A relatively small and compact site that offers something for everyone. The real bonus is the close proximity to Grafham Water. This is a reservoir belonging to Anglian Water and they are to be commended for the work done to turn the area into a wonderful community asset. There are two visitor centres, each with a cafe/restaurant and car parks adjacent. There is a small 'aqua park', boats for hire, picnic areas and a sailing club. There is also an abundance of wildlife. A pathway allows the energetic to circumnavigate the reservoir, a little over 8 miles. A visit to Ely cathedral, the 'ship of the fens' and a few hours spent in St Ives, especially around the river, will be well spent. The site staff, as always, offer a friendly welcome and look after their charge with efficiency and dedication. There’s a bonus on Friday and Sunday evenings when a wood fired pizza van is on site. They are really good, too!

4th visit to this site!

We were going to arrive after 5pm, Julie called me to take payment and explain they were the only warden couple and the office closed at 5pm, they would leave my barrier key and pitch number along with the info of the site on a clip board outside the office. I thought this was a lovely touch. Arrived around 6.30, barrier key etc was where we were told it would be, we went to our pitch which was 33, a grass pitch by the pond and the dog walk, it was lovely along with an owl in the big tree next to the pond. The owl was seen many times during the day and night, The site was clean, tidy, lovely and quiet Mon-Thurs, as the weekend came it picked up with families arriving for the weekend, the small park for children had a swing missing and was particularly small. I would return to this site again as I love the walks around Grafham Water which is a mile to the left or right, the walk around the waters from the site is 9 mile circular walk(I ran it a few times) Bad points, only 2, 1. if your pitche is next to the bridge over the pond, expect kids to cycle or scoot over it and it be noisy and wake you up when the parents let them out (8am on a Saturday morning) yes I do have children and am happy with noise, but constant rumbling from the kids riding over the bridge was a bit annoying. 2. A very strong smell in the ladies toilets! Not sure if it was the drains, but wasn’t very nice. Other than those, I love this site and will be back in the summer 😊.
