Lovely, peaceful site.

This was our 3rd visit here, 13-09-20 for 6 nights. As always very quiet, peaceful site. Disappointed to have to pay full price for no facilities due to a broken boiler, we understood no hot water for showers but didn’t understand why the toilets could not have been available, people could still wash their hands with soap and cold water! The club should’ve either given a discount or even offered club vouchers by way of a gesture, at least these vouchers could go towards another booking maybe! Also no use of bins at the service points due to wardens not being able to collect rubbish due to a broken tractor but had to take rubbish to main bins near reception, whilst this wasn’t a problem we felt the wardens could’ve easily still emptied the bins by using a wheelbarrow giving them something to do as obviously no cleaning of the facilities was needed! The walking and cycling around the reservoir is lovely. We still love this site and will return again but please CMC let the wardens have a mended tractor and boiler as we understand both have been broken for quite some time!!

Perfect for walkers and cyclists

this site is very near Graffam water with all its leisure facilities,so if you like walking and cycling this is the site for you . My only complaint no toilet or shower facilities for 2020. the club should have reduced the nightly pitch fees, plus their tractor was broken surely there is a repair facilitey in the area. apart from this complaint its a site we will return to again as its so peaceful

Peaceful

A great site and easily accessible from the A14 and so very quiet. No traffic noise but take your ear plugs in case the owls keep you awake. The area is great for walking, water sports and cycling and also easy access to visit places like Cambridge, Ely and the Fens. The site is very well managed by friendly, helpful staff who never seem to stop working 24:7. The facility block was closed during our stay, which we knew when booking, and even managed to change to a service pitch a few days before arrival. This was our first break in Cambridgeshire and it has whetted our appetite to return.

Our second stay here.

This was our second stay at this site, last stay was about a year ago when we first brought a caravan. Everything was as I remembered from our last stay. We think it’s a lovely quiet site. Wardens were very friendly. All areas were tidy. Only difference from last year was that the facilities were closed, but that’s not a problem as we usually use our on board facilities. In my own opinion it would be helpful if the prices were reduced due to the facilities being closed, but I guess the whole site still needs money for maintenance. So I guess there’ll be no price reductions at any club site. So overall it’s a nice friendly site and we’ll return again.

Quiet relaxing location

Ditto all previous reviews regarding lack of facilities. Hopefully everything will be repaired or replaced when the site is closed and be up to full speed for the 2021 season. Nice area to visit. Great bacon Sanni at the exhibition centre by the Water.

A pleasant location.

This was our second visit to this site, the previous being 3 years ago. Everything looked to be the same but upon reading the previous reviews it seems that the toilet/shower block was out of action. I cannot comment as we used our own on-board facilities throughout our 2 night stay. That was our choice but if the facilities are still out of action as appears to be the case in August I totally agree that fees should be reduced accordingly. The arrangements for waste disposal were still centralised at reception and notices still displayed that this was due to the tractor being broken. The wardens informed me that they had just moved up from Looe in Cornwall last week and so perhaps the change of wardens is bringing about change. The warden did cut the grass on a motorised mower so perhaps this has just been rectified. Prospective visitors would do well to check the current situation. The site is very quiet in a pleasant location and was ideal for us to break our journey from the south coast to the north east being only 4 miles from the A1. It is within easy driving distance of Cambridge with its attractions and during our last stay we visited The Shuttleworth Collection of antique aircraft a few miles to the south, near Biggleswade, which for me was a must, but perhaps not open during the current pandemic.

Lovely quiet site

Got back a few days ago from the site. Lovely site close to Graffham Water which was ideal for cycling and walking. Nice quiet village with a community shop and pub. Disappointed that the toilet facilities weren't open yet still charged as if they were.

Very Peaceful location

Our second post lockdown trip, it unfortunately had to be cut short due to the very strong winds on what should have been the first day, and despite the rain we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay

Great for cyclists

Just back from a lovely 3 night stay here (our 2nd visit) and felt it was even better than remembered. No facilities due to a boiler problem, but frankly that just made us feel safer in this COVID 19 era! Staff were very efficient and not intrusive (no 8 a.m lawn mowing). The cycling here is brilliant, we cycled around Grafham Water (9.6 miles in total) quite challenging in places but well worth the effort. The visitor centre and the fishing lodge were open for drinks and snacks. Small village shop nearby and we used that to replenish T bags. Nice church with book sale in entrance is just down the lane from the club. Very pretty area and well kept site, we loved it.

Lovely site, pity about lack of facilities

This is a lovely small, peaceful site with lots of walks available nearby. The only downside is the total lack of facilities this year, whilst charging fees for a site with full facilities. There were no shower, toilet, washing up facilities, as noted on the website because the boiler had broken down. There was also no rubbish disposal available at service points because the tractor had broken down and we had to take rubbish to a central point. Why is CMC unable to get a boiler or tractor repaired at this site? Add to that the derelict swimming pool and it suggests there may be other plans for this site. If that is the case CMC should be upfront about it. Whatever the reasons fees are being charged for a fully serviced site, which this clearly is not. CMC should arrange refunds for all who have used this site this year and reduce the fees for the rest of the year.
