Large, flat site

This a large flat site with good sized pitches and access roads. Facilities are clean and warm. This site is located next to a park and playing fields with a huge area for excercising dogs and many people do! The railway station is about 15 minute walk with trains to Swansea taking only 12 minutes. Tesco Express and fuel station very close and a couple of pubs a bit farther away but still in walking distance.

Very good site

Had a lovely stay 21st to 25th March. The wardens, Jenny and her husband, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and excellent. Large pitches well laid out. Great location for exploring The Gower, Swansea and West Wales. Will certainly be visiting this site again soon.

A Lovely Site

We stayed here a couple of times last year as it is close enough for us to get away for a quick break. The site is welcoming and clean. Some great pitches but can get busy at times so less choice. We managed to get great pitches on our stays. If you stay here you must try and explore The Gower, as it has some truly beautiful coves and beaches. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

What a lovely site!

We have only ever stayed at a club site once before, (not Gowerton I hasten to add!), and the attitude of the warden and his wife put us off to such a degree that we have avoided club sites ever since. Until now! We booked Gowerton with some trepidation but we had such a warm and friendly greeting that our fears were put to rest immediately. What a lovely group of people you have running this site! It had rained more than a little prior to our visit and so we were asked to use the hard standing which we wanted anyway. The whole site is beautifully cared for with the most immaculate facilities we have had the pleasure of using. There is a dog walk, (which was very wet and muddy at the time), but our dog enjoyed it anyway. There is good access to shops, etc. via a security gate across the local playing fields. It is ideally suited for North Gower and also Carmarthen Coastal Paths and the Wildfowl and Wetlands near Llanelli. There is the occaisional road traffic and train noise but it never intruded at all. I would highly recommend this site, it really was a joy to stay here in spite of the horrid weather and we shall certainly return! Oh, and one last piece of advice, place your order for fish and chips on a Friday and Saturday evening, they are delicious! Well done to everyone at Gowerton site!

GREAT STAFF AND HOLIDAY BREAK

Lovely site with fabulous flower display. Wardens and assistants were very helpful, hard working and are keeping the site very clean and looking great. Met wardens previously on 2 other sites and received a hug on arrival which made a great start to the holiday. co op nearby which is well stocked. Nice chip shop and Rake and Riddle PH were both well worth a visit. PH has a great kids play area which is safe. We really do not know why we have not used this site before and certainly will do so again. Only downside is that there is a busy road and railway nearby plus under facilities we think the site should have more hard standings plus some service points. These issues did not spoil the break but would make the site even better.

Nice site.

Spent a few nights here with the in laws and our two kids aged 5 & 2. Nice clean spacious site, wardens very friendly' kids park great as is the large dog walk through a wooded area. Had to queue once for the shower but that was the only negative and this can't be helped during busy periods. Lots of scope for cycling and a good base to explore the gower. Lots of kids on bikes and scooters which is nice to see...

Lawn mowers

Lovely site and friendly wardens, and im not just picking at this site,Pembrey was the same. The same patch of grass does not need cutting every other day.Get a bit of good weather, sometime dont wanna go out, just sit and chill outside and relax.but i felt like i had tinnitus, the constant hum.And the man on the cutter was like a preying mantis waiting for us to leave, being inventive doing crop like circles in the grass, and pounced before we'd even got off the grass

nice site...but

We booked for 7 nights but only stayed here for 4 nights and we were really looking forward to our trip to the Gower. The site itself is lovely and the flowers at reception were fantastic as was the welcome by the wardens. The site is deceptively large with a mix of hard standing and grass pitches, toilets were clean and tidy, but needing some tender love and care as the paint / varnish is peeling off the doors and this doesn't look very inviting, especially when you are paying full summer rates. We pitched to the LHS as you enter the site but moved pitch behind the toilet block after the first night as we didn't like the overhead electricity cables near our pitch. So be aware if this concerns you too. The town of Gowerton is quite run down with several shops, supermarket and pub recently closed so the council really need to refresh things to attract visitors. You definately need a car/ transport to get to the gower or the site could be quite isolating as apart from the local town there is not much around. There was a good new coop where we shopped but this was a good 20 minute walk through the sites back gate. We did try the commercial pub but it wasn't a great experience for an evening out. We visited a number of beaches such as Rhossili and apart from a large beach to surf or walk theres not much there. The highlight of the trip was the visit to eynon, a lovely little resort with a few cafes and a shop but nice beach and good parking albeit 5 for the day, you can take a walk to the point with great views from the top. We shortened our visit and went onto Pembrey and Freshwater sites.

South Wales first visit

We stayed here for a week in early July when the air show was on so the site was busy but the staff coped and put a lot of hard work into presenting a lovely well kept site. The directions to the site were easy to follow and all went smoothly, if you do visit take your bikes there's miles and miles of well marked cycle tracks all safe for children as most of the time you are not on busy roads, turn right out of the site on your bike and you've got cycle tracks identified and easy to follow, train station within walking distance with an hourly service to Cardiff and Swansea, we would definitely recommend this site. It also had a descent children's play area which looked clean, safe and interesting, we never queued for any of the facilities even through the busy period, never saw any misbehaving by anybody, a very pleasant experience 🙂

Good site but inadequate facilities and inconsiderate members

Just spent 7 night on what is a lovely site. The wardens are brilliant, helpful, considerate and most important flexible. Pros. Lovely site. Good size pitches. Nice position. Great wardens. Clean facilities. Good options like excellency fish and chips on Friday and Saturdays. Cons. Toiilet/shower inadequate fir number of pitches.queued every day for toiltets, showers, wash cubicles. Members driving wrong way around site. Double parking on pitches. And my pet hate, walking across pitches. I paid for my pitch not so others can use it as a short cut to the showers. The site is in need of some capital expenditure. The wardens do a great job to present a lovely facade but everything is tired. Spend a small amount and ,a,e a great site a 5* site, .
