Site review after staying there inJune 2026
This is a site that relies on its convenient position to the beach and Hayle more than anything else.
The site wardens were present and helpful. However the site needs a revamp and updating. Ie there are no hard standing or fully serviced pitches. There is only one shower block that needs updating. Ie the water pressure is so low at busy times it takes ages to fill a wash bowl and the showers make a awful noise when all in use.
The caravan club still insist on keeping one gate closed to the one main site entrance in spite of this causing an accident when a caravan leaving the site collided with a post office van trying to enter the site.
The security to the site is not good Ie only unlocked gates to the main entrance which although closed at night are not locked so anybody can open them.
Most sites these days have electric security barriers which you put a security code in to open them or a security card..
We were told a year ago that the site was going to be extended and another entrance put in. This is long overdue and needs doing badly.
Our first Caravan visit to this site. (two weeks stay)The site is very easy to get to and is well placed for exploring around the area. The bus stops right outside the site for visits to St Ives and from St Ives bus terminal you can get a bus or train to almost anywhere. The toilet block was spotless and although busy this did not cause a problem. Godrevy beach national trust only 10 minutes drive away and from here you can view the seals at the top car park. The wardens were always on hand to help with any questions etc (nice people). We will be back next year.
