Gatport Airwick

We stayed here for two nights ( September 17th ) as a base for visiting the areas National Trust properties. This site is superb. Well kept and administered by the friendly wardens, who even came round to warn of an impending thunderstorm and to keep things off the ground as being flat the water tends to puddle when there are storms. The planes provided entertainment, and as they don't take off after 11.30, we slept well. The site is a credit to the wardens and I would highly recommend it as a base for visiting the surrounding countryside.

Happy to be returning

Use this site both as a storage compound and a lovely site to stay at too. Very convenient for Brighton which is one of my favourite cities. Storage is very well laid out and the cleaning facilities are superb. Very helpful and friendly wardens who keep the site immaculate. The aircraft noise is a little invasive at first but you soon get used to it. Definitely a site to recommend.

Overnight Stay

Had one night stay on our way to Brighton. We accepted that there would be noise from the airport runway and we weren't disappointed.! However the noise abated overnight and we did not lose any sleep. The site is lovely and well cared for by the wardens.

Great location

We have often used this site on a Sunday as our storage site in Littlehampton was closed on Sunday afternoons. As we often go to rallys from Friday to Sunday this was a convenient overnight stop . Crawley is within walking distance with all the usual high street shops . Our reason for this stopover was l had an appointment at a local Hospital on Monday but there was a train strike ! We stayed on site until 12 and then moved outside for an hour where there is plenty of off road parking full of plane spotters . Very pleasant site with very helpful staff . The site fees are cheaper than most and certainly cheaper than finding a parking spot near the hospital .

Gatwick dream

Gatwick is an aircraft spotters dream. Aircraft taking off from before 6am to 10pm. You soon get used to the noise. Site is great, so handy for the sites around Surrey and Reigate's Priory Park in the centre of town is a gem. So good for dog walking and with the café, breakfast was a dream. Can't recommend it enough.

Thanks to the site wardens only wished all club wardens were as welcoming as the staff at Gatwick. Lovely clean site the only small set back for the first 20 mins or so are the planes taking off but you quickly get use to them. This said the setting, site and staff quickly make up for them many thanks to Sue, Ade (the bossman) hope to see you both soon

Lapse Rules

Just stayed at Gatwick site, up to the usual standards, however  one adheres to the one way system around the site. We were informed of this upon check-in, yet we saw people driving in all directions, including those taking caravans out of storage. We were trying to manouvere our caravan onto our pitch when a car approached from the opposite direction! There needs to be more signage and arrows painted on the roads too.

The location makes it for me

Its location is convenient for me.  The site is beautifully maintained and apart from air traffic, it is peaceful. One disappointment is that there are no facilities to wash the motorhome or caravans.  More importantly no idea when the improvements required will be installed.

short stay

after a night of overwhelming weather our caravan was tested to it's limit .The wardens remained good humoured and helpful throughout but we had to decline the offer of the use of the open air pool that had arrived over night. The facilities on site remained warm clean and dry
