Fantastic wardens

We have just stayed for one night at Gatwick and really wanted to leave a review, which is something I wouldn’t normally do. The wardens, I believe we’re called Jeff and Carole gave us the warmest welcome we have ever had in the many years of motorhoming and caravanning. They were warm and welcoming and gave us loads of information about the area. They also gave us great directions to our next stopover and as we have no idea about this area, was very useful, Facilities were spotless and well looked after. Yes, it is noisy due to the planes but we knew that already, and quite enjoyed watching them We would defo return if in the area.

Another great stay

We have just returned from the Gatwick site, having spent a great couple of nights there. We have only been caravaning for a coupe of years but this is one of our favorite sites, we have been for many weekends here. The planes are not that noisy and don't prevent you sleeping, if you were a plane spotter you would be in heaven here. The main reason for the review is to thank the new wardens. All the previous wardens have been great and we are more than happy to deal with them and stay on their site. The current couple however are fantastic. They are always working but have time to help you if needed, they never seem to stop. The site facilities are the cleanest we have ever seen them, it is almost like being at home. That said the previous wardens also keep the site to a high standard.

Well maintained site with pleasant wardens

Stayed her for a couple of nights after returning by Dieppe/Newhaven ferry. Took less than an hour from the port and easy to find. Yes, it's a noisy site as it's only 100mtrs from Gatwick runway with flights either taking off or landing every couple of minutes from 5.30am until 11.30pm. Great for plane spotters though. The site itself is very well maintained and the toilets/showers spotless. Wardens very pleasant. Major shops & supermarkets a short drive. An ideal stopover site but wouldn't recommend for a peaceful holiday.

Best warden ever

The site, as expected of it's location is noisy. Nonetheless, it is very well maintained. Cannot praise the warden high enough. She met us and was very very friendly and welcoming. An inspiration to a lot of wardens who could learn a lot from her. She changed us from a none awning pitch prior to our arrival to a more spacious, comfortable pitch. What a gem.

Purely a short stay site

Well maintained site with decent showers. Of course we expected aircraft noise knowing the area well. However, flights until midnight and again starting at 6am on the dot take there toll on anything over a one night stopover as the site is almost parallel to the Gatwick perimeter road.

Airport stopover

I booked this site as a stopover for my son and I. He was flying from Gatwick Airport the following morning. The site is extremely convenient for this purpose. Yes, it is a bit noisy when the aircraft are taking off and landing, but this stops overnight. We were seriously delayed by hold-ups on the roads. Bless our motorway system and the M25 in particular. The warden called me on my mobile to see where we were; we were still more than fifty miles away and stuck in traffic. She was very understanding and told me to ring the bell when we arrived. I did and the wardens came to book us in and gave us a convenient pitch. I cannot praise them highly enough. They even advised me on an alternative route back up north, via the Dartford Crossing. Probably saved me a few hours and a fortune in diesel. They are a credit to the club. The site itself was immaculate. The facilities spotlessly clean. Despite the noise, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Nice weekend

Nice weekend away. Can't really give it 5 * for peace and quiet haha but we all loved the planes taking off. Just needs a park for the kids

Gatwick

Gatwick is gatwick.as it states the airport runway is very near,but actually is is pefect for a couple of nights away.Pitches are large and only 24 of them,and toilet facilites well mantained by the site managers,so quite peaceful between flight take off's.You do get used to the noise after a couple of hours or so.Flights stop overnight. Downsides are there is no where to walk,apart from around the site. Shopping is covered with a large Tesco's nearby. Can I just say do not follow sat nav (not mine anyway)and there are road works as you come off the A23 hence the road signs are covered up.This is by the roundabout as you need to leave the A23.

Surprisingly nice little site.

Stayed here just overnight. It really is right on the edge of the airport. It’s obviously going to be noisy! Friendly warden. Very welcoming. I enjoyed watching the aircraft coming and going. I wouldn’t want to stay a week but a night or two would be fine. It’s not a place you can really walk from. The road is fast and has no pavements. You would need to take the car out. I walked the site and the field behind. It’s surrounded by countryside. Nice little toilet block. Very powerful and hot showers. Some bigger long term vans there when I stayed. Surprisingly quiet once the aircraft had stopped. I’d certainly return but I’d say it’s a stopover rather than a holiday destination.

Our yearly winter stay

Our sister and us always come in the half term to chill out We always are greeted so wonderfully and nothing is any trouble We asked if there was a Chinese takeaway that delivered and within a few minutes of setting up a photo copied menu and phone numbers were delivered to our pitch The cleanliness is amazing the showers amazing the site amazing and wardens Awesome We live this site and will return next year our family as always are on the next pitch to us and always have a fabulous fantastic time Live you Guys Andy & Kat Steer
