Beautiful site

site is spotless, the wardens are brilliant, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Site is 5-10 minutes walk from beautiful beach, fab ice cream seller mid way and definitely worth spoiling yourself with a waffle cone. Only downside is no signal for phone or tv so you definitely need a coax cable if you want to watch any tv. But it's such a beautiful site, and such glorious scenery, why would you? Points of interest are multiple but access can be tricky in a moho..carew and Pembroke castles are both worth a visit and parking is nearby. Manorbier castle is a no go unless your towing a mini car to use!!!

Great location, shame about the wifi

This is a wonderful site, ideally located to the nearby beach, quiet and peaceful (apart from our last night when a local military firing range seemed rather busy). Staff were friendly and helpful, everything spotlessly clean and covid secure (despite best efforts of some fellow users who use the facilities without wearing a mask and didn't take a band). The negatives - the wifi was virtually unusable, We were pitched on the lowest level and struggled to get and retain a connection. I appreciate this will not be an issue for many but for those of us with a few work commitments, it was a bit of a nightmare, especially as there was no mobile signal (on the EE network) either. The Club should review its bronze rating with some urgency as I made this booking on the strength that there would be some connectivity. Had I known how bad it was going to be I would not have made the booking. That frustration apart, we had a lovely five nights and would certainly come back again (with no work commitments this time), And it would be a great site for a digital detox! One improvement - some fellow users were driving way too fast. The faded 5mph road markings need refreshing, perhaps with some signs as well and a few more speed bumps.

Very very quiet site. Ideal for dog owners.

Had a really good 3 night stay here. Really well maintained site and very friendly, helpful staff. Extremely quiet site and perfect if you like a relaxed and peaceful stay. Maybe not a first choice for families unless you make use of the beach or tour round as Freshwater East is quite isolated. Nearest shop is 2 miles away at the petrol station. A tough trek to walk to as mostly on road and up a very steep hill. On site shop but doesn’t have fresh milk for sale. Excellent site for dog owners as safe walks from the site. Beach is dog friendly all year round and there are good coastal walks. Will be back as loved it here!

A fab sire for both humans and our 4 legged kids

Our 1st visit to Freshwater was not a disappointment, we were met with a very warm welcome. Although the toilet blocks were closed, the fresh water, waste water and chemical toilet points were spotless. The wardens worked non stop, site was spotless. Beach is five minutes walk away, with access to the pembrokshire coastal path. We actually extended our stay as we were enjoying ourselves so much and have already book for a further 2 visits. The site is in a valley, losts of birds rabbits and animals to see. Only criticism is to other visitors, we lost count how many times people were told to slow down by the wardens.PLEASE respect the speed limit and help the wardens to keep people and animals safe and follow the clubs rules. This applies to all sites. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.

Super site, very friendly staff, great location

This site is fabulous. It is less than 5 minutes walk from the quiet beach so the position couldn’t be better. The site itself is well laid out, clean and well maintained (special shout out to the guys edging the lawns - very smart!). The staff were very friendly and helpful and, while we waited to check in, staff come over to your vehicle to give you key information about the site and places to visit. The shop stocks anything you’ve forgotten. There is a play park if you have children with you. Everything felt very Covid safe. Honestly, we couldn’t fault the site and look forward to visiting again.

Just Great !! .A most welcome return to almost normal.

We are fortunately resident not too far from this brilliant site and were so pleased to be able to return after the long 'closure' . The site once again did not disappoint, the wardens keep it looking brilliant and were most welcoming and happy to converse at a safe distance. It was good to be able to see different faces and speak with new people after such a long time in virtual solitary. Communal facilities remained closed during our visit but essential water and waste disposal were open and sanitizing facilities were present for our use. A great site to which we will return, Great wardens and well attended facilities. Thank you.

Great location

We returned to this site for the first time since a visit in 1997 and found little had actually changed. Still had great facilities and of course a superb location for visiting the South West of Wales. The wardens were efficient and helpful although not perhaps as Friendly as we usually see on club sites. The rules in place to cover the current Pandemic were simple and seemed to be obeyed and we never had to wait for showers or toilets. We are caravaners and decided to book a fully serviced pitch as this allows us more scope to use the on-board shower. It was surprising to see most of the serviced pitches taken by Motorhomes, which as they tend to have on board water and waste don’t really need or tend to use the full service facilities. I therefore wonder why they book them when they are more useful for caravans. Overall we had a great time with unexpected fantastic weather for the middle of October and will certainly not wait another 23 years before returning.

Lovely location within a short walk of a huge beach.

Freshwater East site is in a lovely location just a short walk from a huge dog friendly beach. The site is well maintained and facilities spotless. Covid H&S measures are in place with sanitiser on all service points. Wardens were pleasant but not over friendly which is unusual for CMC sites that we've visited. The site includes hard standing and grass pitches which are good sizes, but some of the grass pitches are sloping. Due to the layout of the site, many of the pitches are behind trees & hedges so get little sun most of the day. There is a good dog walk (not secure) on site. The Freshwater Inn (situated in the village at the top of a very steep hill) serves excellent food. The location of the site itself is great for visiting the tourist spots of Pembrokeshire with the seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot a 30 minute drive away. Nearest large supermarkets are in Pembroke itself (about 7 miles). Those with motorhomes may find the site a bit too secluded and the area is very hilly if depending on cycles for shopping and touring around.

Great location!!

First time here, but this is a site we'll definitely come back to. The site is so conveniently placed for visiting this wonderful area. We were here during the time of covid but we thought the systems in place around the facilities blocks worked very well. Just pick your times. Well done to all the staff and visitors who made things work!!

The weather made it

Just returned from a 12 day stay, a fair mix of pitch types (perhaps too many grass pitches for us) however if you like grass you will be more than happy. The toilet blocks were always very clean, the system in place is ‘bands in Milton’, disappointingly some members were seen entering the facilities without taking a band, we ALL need to follow the guidance, it’s serious and the rules are here for a good reason, for all concerned. Personally I think the signage on door as people enter should be bigger and more direct. The site is ideally situated for lots of great beaches and if you enjoy walking there are lots of good coastal paths, and access to the beach is just across the road from the site. Tenby is really nice and all car parking fees locally are reasonable. We found the wardens polite and helpful, and if they read these reviews thank you for maintaining a clean site.
