Nowhere better in good weather!

We stayed here for a week 20 - 27 July so were fortunate that most of our days were hot and sunny, so being able to walk to the beach and swim in the sea to cool down was a definite bonus! In fact the hot weather meant that we didn't get round to some of the walks and visits we had planned, so will need to return. The major problem with this site, as mentioned by many previous reviewers is the lack of either internet or phone signal. It seems crazy that nothing has been done to address this, as the TV boosters find only the most basic of channels, and not even radio 2! We don't go on holiday in order to sit on our phones or surf the internet, and we don't both with Netflix etc at home so wouldn't do so on holiday, but these days there is a definite need to be able to keep in touch. You can get a good 4g signal on the beach..... and on the coastal walk, and the internet can surely be upgraded - it literally took 10 minutes each day for my newspaper to download the written part, and it was totally hit and miss whether the pictures/illustrations ever downloaded. This was our only negative. The wardens were efficient and smiley, the site was beautifully kept, the service pitches we were on were very good size.

Awesome location with great staff and facilites

I'm not very fond of these large style parks as I feel like I'm in a bit of a sardine tin looking at all the other fish in their smart caravans and motorhomes and rather prefer smaller rougher style sites. This is however more than made up for by the excellent location, good facilities and very friendly staff. We parked at the top under the trees during a bit of a heat wave and it was very relaxing to escape the heat. We were in a very basic rented camper van so was nice to return to 'base' and preen our feathers and empty all the nasty bits. Most awesome location for connecting with the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path as the scenery is stunning. Wifi was a bit patchy but I don't come to a place like this to lounge on my phone and watch TV otherwise I have missed the point of an outdoor lifestyle! I quite enjoyed not having good phone signal for a change.

sad to say

The site was lovely, location good, managed to do all the things we wanted to do. The site staff were helpful and under pressure the same as other staff at the moment due to covid. Our only problem was the lack of telephone signal and the boosted TV was not much good either. Don't know if I would go back again unless the club worked to improve on this.

One of the friendliest club sites we've stayed at

I'll start to by saying a big thank you to the staff at the site who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They took the trouble to phone me up to check possible arrival time and when it was after reception had closed for the evening went out of their way to make sure we would be welcomed to the site and sorted for our stay. I had tried to amend our booking online with little success, phone signal and WiFi where we were in western Pembrokeshire hadn't been too great. Having explained the amendment this was then processed for us with no fuss, thank you. The site is lovely and we were lucky to be at the very end of it with great views inland of gentle hills and lovely sunsets. Very peaceful and quiet where we were pitched. Facilities are as one comes to expect from the club, spotless. We enjoyed three very peaceful nights here and could have stayed a lot longer, but for work calling and my wife's itinerary for walking the coast path. Would I recommend this site, unreservedly. I do hope to venture down there again in the future, a great site in a beautiful part of the country. Dave Allen

Lovely area, helpful staff but a little claustrophobic

Great spot right next to the beach, with the village of Lamphey and the small town of Pembroke close at hand. Wardens were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and well kept. Only slight downside was that the pitches seemed to be close together because the sight is narrow. My daughter stayed on a tent pitch and thought the daily fee for a standard pitch a little expensive.

Great Eight Night Stay

Had a lovely 8 nights on this site , after having to book 5 nights, then 2, then 1, just by checking availability regularly. Lived up to all CAMC standards. Excellent location with being just minutes to a lovely beach or coastal path. Handy for many places to visit. Quite a large site, but was very quiet and peaceful. If you visit there is no way you will get on site before 1 pm. There is a large pay and display beach car park at the end of the CAMC drive, 30 mins free should imagine will get busy on a weekend. Hope to visit again sometime. Luckily we had great weather this visit!

Peaceful break in beautiful area

Had a lovely break here recently.also lucky with the weather…lots to see and do around although if weather bad not brilliant with a dog.only off lead in walking distance is the beach and you don’t always want them to get sandy and soaked.must be the worst dog walk we seen.muddy alley way with slippery and very uneven path.not very wide, heaven help you if you have a reactive dog as difficult to pass another walker. Think Pembrey would be a better option. Had problem with electric on arrival and one of the wardens was so helpful ,got us sorted.site and pitches maintained very well.agree with another reviewer re ice cream by beach, lovely.local pub closed for refurb . Garage in next village stocked all you need and Pembroke dock has all the big supermarkets. As previously mentioned no phone signal and iffy WiFi.the tv signal from the bollards wasn’t very good either so take some good books!

A great site in a lovely location

After the first of two weeks at Freshwater East we can give the site and staff full marks, ticking all boxes for us for the quality of the facilities, ground maintenance and friendly staff. The location of the site is ideal being a short walk onto a lovely dog friendly beach. A bit out of the way for motohomers with the nearest shop at a petrol station a couple of miles away and nearest supermarket in Pembroke (5 miles) but for those with cars, not a problem. The only down side is that TV reception needs to be via the sites supply which has now been upgraded and has about 20 channels plus radio, and there is very poor (if any) mobile data/telephone reception but internet, although slow, is available via the CMC wifi system. Looking forward to our second week here and have already booked for 2022.

A wonderful site with friendly staff

We've spent 3 days in this site and feel very comfortable. The tent area has a slight slope, which I think is fair enough. The facility in this site is quite new and well maintained. I should say thanks to the staff there, as they helped a lot on guiding us where/how to set up tent and find a pitch for our motorhome to stay close to our tent. Feel relax and peaceful in this site, and it's just 10 mins walk to the beach! Oh, btw, there is no mobile signal in the site, but wifi is free. Love this site, would go again in the future!
