Outstanding Location
September 2024, was our 2nd visit to Freshwater East & it will not be our last. OK, the WiFi and TV signal is poor, but this did not spoil our stay.
The site team were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Always had time to say hello to you.
We were out of season, and it was lovely and peaceful and in touching distance of a wonderful beach. Setting is perfect.
Facilities were clean and tidy, nice and modern.
We cannot wait to go back! Highly recommended!
Popular site
Nice friendly wardens. Everywhere kept clean & tidy. However a very popular site so busy throughout our stay. Beach is fantastic, long wide & enough space for all.
Weekend away
What a fantastic site. The wardens were super friendly and the facilities spotless. The location is fabulous for the beach. There is a lovely pub at the top of the hill with amazing views. A short ride to a Morrisons local or you can visit the near by town for a Tesco. A smashing site. We will be returning.
Disappointed
Disappointed.
The pitches have no privacy whatsoever.
Zero phone signal and very poor internet.
No Tv signal so a cable is needed.
Your neighbors opposite are very close.
Shower facilities are very good, bank holiday weekend so it was very busy but didn’t experience queues.
Really didn’t like the layout of the site, it’s very long and narrow.
Beach is 10 minute walk. Jacks restaurant slightly closer. If you like family atmosphere then this is the place for you.
The hill leaving the site is extremely long and steep, something to consider if towing a caravan. There are no shops within walking distance, so make sure you are stocked up of you can’t get off the site.
Definitely wouldn’t return.
One of the female wardens is scary and unfriendly.
GREAT SITE
I was lucky to be able to stay at this site for most of July. Absolutely wonderful. Very clean tidy site. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Obviously the early part of July was quieter. Towards the end of July school holidays had started and my daughter and granddaughter arrived. We were on a hardstanding pitch near the playground, which was ideal for my granddaughter. Many days on the beach. Will be coming back to this site. So much of Pembrokeshire to still explore.

Outstanding!
We have just returned today after an absolutely brilliant 5 nights at Freshwater East. Staff were brilliant, we were first timers so had lots of questions and nothing was too much for them. They also lent us a lead as ours was too short for the hook up. I would 100% recommend this site. Immaculately clean, superb facilities, lovely site and welcoming staff. We will return!
Better when not busy
Good tidy site and facilities clean. There were not enough toilets at peak times so queuing was unfortunate or the alternative was to time your visit outside peak (if you can!). The site is sheltered, long and thin so it lacks the interesting features or points of interest you get at some sites but the basics were good. Staff coped well but due to the full/almost full site on every one of our 5 nights it sometimes felt a little like a well run relaxed army camp rather than a holiday venue. Probably best when not so busy.
Very disappointed with the facilities and unwelcoming
POSITIVE:
Brilliant location for beach
“Jacks” up the road serve good coffee food and drinks
Beach was lovely
Clean
Great for walks
NEGATIVE:
1:Very unwelcoming and the ladies on reception basically “grimaced” at me
2: The facilities were a joke with around 6 ladies toilets serving around 90 pitches YES 90 ! There were queues for the facilities every day.
3: no bins in the washing up area or indeed on the services areas. This meant, although I could fill up my water tank, I still had a steep uphill climb to empty my bins elsewhere.
4: Dog walk wasn’t a woodland one, basically it was a cut through to the other side of the campsite that took 10 minutes
5: DONT return to the site at 1pm ish. You’ll be blocked in by arrivals and can not get through the barrier until they are checked in.
6: no communal seating area or food vendor (fish & chips / pizza van) comes to the site.
7: The key has name of campsite and pitch on it . Could potentially be a security issue ?
OVERALL:
Just an amazing area but spoilt by unwelcoming receptionists and also a SEVERE lack of facilities and bins.
Mixed Feelings
Stayed here for five nights and I have mixed feelings. Location is good being just across the road from the beach, very clean as always, and site wardens friendly as normal. But I didn't like the layout. Most sites have some interest - little nooks and crannies - but this is basically four big avenues of pitches - feels like being in the suburbs! But this is personal taste. What is not good is the site wifi - woeful in fact- which is really bad as none of the major networks give you a useable phone signal - working wifi is a must. And secondly - not enough toilet facilities for gentlemen. The toilet block serving 86 pitches only has 3 (yes three) toilet cubicles. Every time I went there was a queue to get in, and people queuing when you come out. This is not acceptable for a premium site.
Wouldn't stay again based on toilet facilities and poor wifi.
