Great for families!

Stayed for 7 nights at the end of July, arrived in the rain and wind. Managed to find a nice grass pitch that was reasonably sheltered. As other reviews have said, the hardstandings are a bit like a car park, but the grass pitches are more spacious. It was great to see so many families of all ages on the site, kids playing, making friends, and enjoying themselves. Brilliant! Lots of beach and coastal access directly from the site as well as further afield. Stackpole and world top five beach at Barafundle are only 3 miles along the coast path. The facilities were kept clean and tidy and the wardens work hard to keep the site trim and tidy. We had a great time here, and would definitely come back.

A Frosty Welcome!

Firstly, if you appreciate a warm and friendly welcome with all the usual pleasantries, then prepare to feel let down when you arrive at this excellent Caravan Club site. If there was a training course internally for the wardens relevant to customer service, I would suggest they attend this as priority. However, do not let this put you off visiting the site. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and will certainly be back next year. The site is well laid out and the toilet blocks kept clean. Even though the toilet blocks are only small, we never had to que. There is a lovely family friendly feel to the site and the beach which is perfect with soft sand and dunes within a small cove is ideally located by crossing the road from the site. Perfect for days on the beach or a morning/evening stroll. We had an excellent meal at the Stockpole Inn and found lots of beautiful places to visit locally. Quad biking at the Ritec Valley is also great fun if your into that kind of thing. Coastal walks are also ideally located within walking distance from the site, which we completed to Stackpole Quay and enjoyed a well deserved lunch at the National Trust Cafe.

Great location

Cant fault the location with its easy access to the beach, the excellent clean facilities and the warm welcome from the wardens.  A few negatives though, as the site is long and thin and the pitches not really wide enough, caravanners park their cars on the side of the central track.  Does feel a bit like you are parked in a car park.  Ideal site for families so obviously lots of children around and unfortunately some parents who let them wander around on bikes and scooters very late making noise AND using the dog walk as a cycle track!!!  Will Come back next time out of season.

Great site to a point

We stayed at Freshwater East for 6 nights from 16/07/2015. The site itself was clean and well presented, toilets were clean adequate (Numbers wise), the main problems I had with the site were the frequent loss of WiFi signal, which is annoying when you have paid for the service. the other problem with the site that I found was the Firing ranges somewhere near the site, on the 2 occasions the guns started it was late afternoon and the guns although were intermittent went on firing up until 11:30 at night. Having said that I would visit this site again, with a wet suit and body board, the beaches are great.

We love it here!!!

We love this site, just a short walk to the beach (down hill) we don't even notice signals etc for TV etc as we make full use of the outdoor space, the beach is just stunning, lovely and clean with a mixture of shingle and sand.  The site is the same as the others we have found well looked after and very welcoming wardens.  The showers do tend to get quite sandy but that is due to the location and people enjoying the beach.

A Welcome Return to South Wales

What a treat it was to return to South Wales after about a 20 year absence, the Freshwater East Site is an ideal location for dog lovers, walkers and for visiting the Pembrokeshire towns and villages. I would recommend visiting, Barafundle Bay (about a mile walk from the car park at Stackpole Quay, that's if you don't fancy the long walk from the site) and Wisemans Bridge as both locations are dog friendly. Tenby is a pleasant seaside town and well worth a visit. The site itself is well structured at different levels, we chose to pitch on the upper level which gave an excellent satellite signal. The site was very tidy and well kept and the wardens as ever were friendly, efficient and busy. The only small criticism would be the now outdated toilet blocks or are we now being spoiled when we visit sites where they have been refurbished? This is certainly a site I would visit again, thanks for a great holiday.

A great time had by all

Just come back from a week at freshwater and can say that the site is well maintained, with helpful and friendly staff, a cracking little on site dog walk and excellent dog friendly beach nearby. The pitches are well spaced and well set out for ease of movement, no phone signal in area(yes) but there is wifi available at a price. Remember your 25metre TV aerial cable if you want to watch TV as caravan aerial will not receive anything as site is in a valley. The site is mown regularly and bins emptied daily, there are an abundant amount of dog bins dotted around the site to.  The shower and washing facilities are ample and as we used our caravan facilities as well there was no issues, the water was always hot and there are disabled facilities. I would not hesitate to recommend this site to friends and felt previous reviews where unjust. The facilities for children were great with a play park and a beach next door so always entertained. Remember to keep your dog on a lead when going to the beach as there is a pond at the start of the beach which has blue green algea in it which is harmful to dogs unless you like paying vets bills as a staff member told me, the danger is also postered on the left as you get near to the little wooden bridge.
