So rude!

I have been a club member for 13 years and have been to this site several times over these years and in my childhood having very fond memories of the area. Our decision to return despite a 5 hour journey was not a disappointment in the area but the rudeness of our greeting at the site. We had driven for 5 hours and got there at 11.45 to be told in a rude, impolite and totally uncaring way that we would have to wait in the car parks with the others!! I explained we had been on the road for 6 hours having stopped for a break and this was met with complete lack of interest. If I had known of another site nearby I would have told the CC to stick there membership and never paid my £184 site fees! I am appalled that the club that prides  itself on being the best were quite definitely the worst. I agree with others who have commented that we were clearly an inconvenience and not a customer! The reason for our wait, so they could make sure those leaving had done so.......one caravan left the site whilst we waited! To add insult to injury on the morning we left caravans were arriving from 11.30! I would never go back despite the beauty and convenience of the beach. The older lady should be sacked and never allowed to be a warden on a site. I will seriously consider whether I will renew my member this year.

JUST OK

I only read the reviews about the toilet block whilst I was there and everyone was right, they were the worst caravan club site facilities I had ever come across - 3 showers, 1 washing up sink. If you have paid for wifi and are near the top end of the site by the park, I was without the net for several days. If you get there early, don't expect to get on the site before 12.00 as you get turned away and sent to the beach car park - not the most convenient when you are towing a caravan and not very hospitable when there were plenty of empty pitches - not as though they went and mowed the empty pitches either (like they do on Hillhead). Although it was good for freshwater beach which was very nice for a run in the morning and to walk the dog later on, it would be nice if caravan club could have a site closer to Tenby, which is beautiful and well recommend visiting there - we went every day. Also recommend visiting St Davids and Pembroke Castle and Caldey Island. I have heard that the toilet blocks are due to be knocked down and would only revisit this site if this happens as definitely would not recommend them now especially if you have small children.

Near the beach

Lovely site close to the beach , however the staff need to attend some courses around people skills, treat people how you want to be treated, speak to people with respect , ask more than tell ,its disappointing that some of the staff came across as rude when approaching people , I don't believe such a small team  could make the morale so low , there approach to any issues needs to be addressed  . we had a week  there and it felt as if we were not welcome .

Can't Fault This Site

I read the reviews before we went to Freshwater and I can't fault this site. We really enjoyed it, sadly Mother Nature took over and it rained, but hey if anyone can control her, you are worth a mint. The Wardens were really good, helpful in everyway. We loved it and will be back next year

Good Location

Stayed for 3 nights in mid August. The site was fairly full by the time we arrived, so we didn't have much choice for pitches. Our grass pitch had suffered pretty badly from (others) awning carpets, and after three day's rain it was pretty much mud. We were disappointed to see the number of cars parked at right angles to pitches, it looked like an urban street rather than a club site. The toilet blocks are badly in need of the forthcoming upgrade. We used our own on board facilities in preference to the site showers, 'nuff said. Having said all that, there was a very warm welcome from the wardens, and the site was surprisingly quiet considering the school hols and the beach proximity. We'll go again, probably, but after the upgrades.

Dog Walk

Like, like,LIke whats not to like about this site, this was our second visit and this time with our 4yr old grandson he loved every minute he was there. Playing in the play park was great fun for him but I was a little disappointed that the dog walk that sits right by the side was not fenced off, older kids played in the walk/woods and made camps etc and of course other smaller kids followed surely this is a health and safety issue. I have not been on any other site where the dog walk can be played in. This is my one and only concern of the site the rest of the site is lovely. Glad the facilities are being modernised. Well done to the wardens for the upkeep of the site.

Excellent For The Beach

When I drove around looking for a pitch I thought I wasn't going to like the site. All I could see in front of me were lots of caravans and just as many cars parked in front of them on both sides. It reminded me of a street with cars parked on both sides. It made the site look a little too busy and full.  I found a suitable pitch where it was a little quieter and I didn't have to stare at loads of cars every day when time I stepped outside the van.  The location is so close to the beach and surrounding places to visit made up for the initial thoughts. We had a great stay and the grandkids absolutely loved it.  It was the first holiday where they have stayed at the seaside. Word if warning about eating out locally.  At this time of the year the local pubs are really busy so be prepared for long waits.  We had no problems with queing at the toilet blocks as reported elsewhere and the site was pretty full. Yes, they aren't the smartest I've seen but more than adequate. A good stay was add by all 6 members in our party.

One of our favourite places to visit

We have visited this site on many different occasions but this was the first time in the main school holiday period.  The site was very full and we were concerned that it may be to busy for us but apart from children on scooters and bikes riding around and enjoying themselves , we still thoroughly enjoyed our break there. The second shower block was quite busy and unfortunately the showers did have quite a lot of sand in them by early evening but this was to be expected as the weather was perfect for the beach. The walk to the beach only takes a couple of minutes and is well worth it.  The coastal path towards Stackpole Quay is a lovely walk and the National Trust cafe is ideal for lunch or tea. The wardens were all very pleasant and helpful.  We will definitely be returning again next year, hopefully on more than one occasion.  Very pleased to hear that the shower block is being refurbished during the winter months. Thank you

Fantastic Location

We recently returned from a 2 week stay at Freshwater East. The wardens were by far the most friendliest, helpful and happiest we've had on any of the Club sites. A great location with the stunning beach only a 10mintue walk from the site. The coast path is also accessible from the site, great for dog walking/hiking. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here and we will be returning again to this beautiful area. I was made aware during our stay, that this site is being refurbished over the winter, including new shower/toilet blocks. Look forward to visiting again next year!

Great Position

Great site for families, although facilities a little tired and could do with extending and updating. Three showers in central area really not enough,!  Excellent location for beach and surrounding areas.
