Great Position

Great site for families, although facilities a little tired and could do with extending and updating. Three showers in central area really not enough,!  Excellent location for beach and surrounding areas.

Great site!

Really impressed with this site. Walking distance to beach, easy driving to Tenby and Pembroke and surrounding attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pitches - options to be in shade or sun. Great toilet facilities - cleaned regularly. My children loved the play area and making dens in the wooded area behind. Very safe and secure for families. Some lovely sloped tarmac roads on site make for great biking/skateboarding fun!!

Last minute booking.

Having booked this site the night before arrival for a one night stay through the last minute page which was showing plenty of pitches available, I was very surprised to find that they operate a strict no admittance policy before 12 noon saying that the site was full. There were at least 10 outfits waiting to pitch just outside the site, I have never come across this before on a club site, perhaps I have been lucky. Toilet block was ok, 3 showers only in the block we used. No hot water at 6pm to do the dish washing!  Site was well kept and very close to the beach and coastal path, not a lot in Freshwater East but a good base for trips out to surrounding areas.

Tent Pitch Location Terrible- Wld not return

This was my first trip with a tent on a cc site. However the bit of grass that was either side of the road was the area for tents- this itself was not level as the right hand side was sloped upwards and the left hand side sloped downwards, apart from a very small area in the corner which was had been heavily used was the only flat location for tents. I suggest if you are tenting in this area use another site- stayed at 2 other non cc sites during the same tour and of a good standard and set up to accommodate tents. This is not acceptable to charge for this. The rest of the site and facilities were the usual standard of a cc site, and no complaints, seriously need to look at the location for tents or remove this facility very poor standard and as my first stay not a very good impression, as said went to 2 others in the same week, and much better location and set up to accommodate tenters.

inadequate toilet facilities

Just come back from visiting this site. Stayed before 15 years ago & when the warden said nothing had changed, she was right! The toilet blocks were very inadequate as the site was full, had to queue to use the showers & the toilets every day! The toilet block at the busy end of site has only 3 ladies toilets for what must be around 50 pitches & 3 showers. There was even a queue to use the washbasin facilities which only have a curtain on them & I witnessed one morning the curtain pulled back on one poor lady trying to have a private wash. They are poorly ventilated and appear to have damp & mould in them too. Not a pleasant experience & spoilt our stay there somewhat. Especially as we had moved across from Brecon which has excellent washrooms. Thankfully the site is being refurbished.

Very nice site in lovely position

Stayed here late July 2015. This is a great little site within minutes of the beach with it's powdery white sand. Site facilities first class and a little pub (a fair uphill walk or short drive away) with very friendly staff, free WiFi, dogs welcome and very reasonable prices. If your not surfing or canoeing there are some great cliff top walks. Beach area totally unspoilt.

Excellent site

Site is one in a 100 beach close by,showers and toilet block small but there are two to choose from and we never queued for a shower  Or loo best to time it right we think.Wardens friendly and always happy to chat .We did notice the planning application posted near the enterance of the site about the proposed new toilet block and reception area great news for all those who had to queue for the said toilet blocks. The whole family enjoyed our 9 days stay the youngest even found friends she made last year there again.

OK

Not the best of sites for us having been to many over the country this tended to lack in inadequate washrooms/toilet blocks as they were very small and just not good enough for such a big site, beach within walking distance but that meant the toilet blocks were filled with sand and members just didn't tidy after themselves  Travelled to Gowerton after. which is a better well kept cleaner site  Very steep hill into and out of  site with no long run up so beware not mentioned in book

a pleasant stay at freshwater east

an excellent site reaching all C Club standards So convenient for the sandy beach and the Pembrokeshire coastal path Great helpful volunteer staff Clean and spacious pitches Only negative the usual one.. that shower users don't squeegee out the booths after they shower - do they like to undress in pools of water?? - how do we educate these men.....
