Fabulous freshwater

Lovely site close to a good beach 5 minutes walk away and lots of walks to choose from. We walked coastal path to stack pole quay a challenge but worth it. Bosherston lily ponds broad haven beach lots of good walks for dogs round stack pole . The wardens were great lots of banter and always courteous.  Shower blocks were lovely and clean never had to queue. We will return thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

GEM OF A SITE

Hi, just spent our second time here at this site and will be definitely returning again next year. The toilet block facilities are fabulous (especially considering the state of them last year due to the age of them). The wardens were lovely and friendly and very helpful when I added on an extra night before our due stay. Love the fact that you can just walk to the beach and enjoyed going for a run in the morning also. Not too far to drive to Tenby and Pembroke where he supermarkets are is even closer. Covered more of the coastline this year, visiting Stockpole Quay and along the coast, Barafundle beach is a must and if you have a dog, many of the lovely sandy beaches welcomes dogs - unlike Devon. Also did a lovely walk from the site along the coast with some fabulous views. There is a holiday village next door with a club type house, serving drinks, meals and a mini arcade which we are able to use. Park just been updated this year. Overall, a lovely stay again.

Great location!

We stayed here in August so the site was full. Overall this site is great, close to a lovely beach and right on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which is fabulous for walking.  I would say that when the site is full you sometimes have to wait for showers and laundry facilities as it's a big site for the number of showers and limited laundry facilities but I'm sure this is only an issue in peak season.  I was very annoyed with the wifi. We were aware of the lack of mobile phones as this was clearly stated but we have purchased the wifi so that we can use it. Whilst I love going away, being self employed means I can't always just completely switch off. There needs to be honesty that the system doesn't work. During our 5 night stay, I was only able to actually use the wifi on 1 night. Despite my frustrations above, we did have a lovely stay. The Pembrokeshire Coast is so beautiful and a wonderful place to visit!

Ideal for day on the beach

We found the location of the site ideal for exploring the area using the local bus, cycling and walking. Access to the beach was a gentle five minute walk which is suitable for all ages and abilities. We can highly recommend a visit to Stackpole Quay, Bosherton Lily ponds, Stack Rocks / Green Bridge of Wales, Barafundle Bay and Freshwater West. Unfortunately the plots on the site vary greatly, compared to other sites we have visited. A large number of the plots have much less daylight due to the trees. Also, plots close to the playground area are lacking in lighting after dark which made visits to the washrooms difficult, whereas other parts of the site are well lit.

Good stay

Just returned home after a week at Freshwater East. I found the wardens pleasant and keen to help. The lack of mobile signal and the poor WiFi signal was a bit of a pain especially after paying for it. My biggest gripe is not the club's fault but the fault of inconsiderate dog owners. Dogs barking at all hours really spoiled what is a really peaceful site due to no main roads nearby.

Nice site but facilities need improving

Nice site and located very close to beach Friendly and helpful staff - however no mobile signal or 3/4 G coverage was a real negative. Even the Caravan club wifi was very difficult to access despite paying the £10 weekly rate. The Reception shop was the worst we have seen on a CC site - very little in it - needs updating.

One of our favourite sites

We visited in early August 2016 for a week. Its was our 3rd visit to this site the last one being 6 years ago. Love how close it is to the beach, that dogs can go on. Unfortunately problem with TV from bollards while we were there meant we only got one channel and much of the time none, wardens were apologetic and as helpful as they could be. Would really prefer the club to concentrate on sorting this, rather than having wifi that we try to avoid. Liked refurbished toilets, though we agree with other peoples comments need more cubicles in men's toilets and one morning both toilet blocks closed as cleaning over lapped! The big plus here is the outdoor wet suit showers but having to go past the men's to get to them is a little disconcerting if you are female! Please don't increase the hard standing any more, in some places it feels like you are on a car park

FACILITIES

This is a lovely site and very well kept well by the Wardens but who was responsible for planning the refurbishment? Whoever it was has made a mess of it. The new toilet block is totally inadequate with only 3 men's cubicles. I don't mind waiting for a shower but do not expect to join a lengthy queue for the loo! On one occasion I tried the loos nearest the office and the gents was locked, this at mid afternoon. My other rant is about the chemical toilet emptying points or lack of them. Why was it decided to remove them from the main toilet block? I was looking forward to beautiful Freshwater with 21st century facilities only to be let down by them. Still a lovely well kept site but lack of any sort of foresight has let the Caravan Club down badly.

Beautiful Location!

Stayed here last weekend after waiting all year for it to reopen. New and refurbished toilet/shower blocks are lovely. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Site and facilities spotlessly clean. Weather was a bit rough for summer but as you are so near to the beach, you can always pop in and out to catch the sun. So many lovely beauty spots locally that you are spoils for choice. Glad site is open again as it's been a nightmare trying to book elsewhere in Pembroke during the closure. Can't wait to return soon
