Game of two halves.

This site is immaculate, with stunning shower facilities which are kept pristine by the wardens. The leisure centre next door is useful for kids, as is the park. However, I feel a little disapointed as it's not as idyllic as I expected. The "lochside" is through a security fence, and its noisy at night with well meaning locals paying football, dog walking etc. perhaps we were naive, but we hoped for an idyllic lochside private location all to ourselves and fellow members?  Note to self: Google Earth before booking next time.

good site but less keen on Forfar

This is a pleasant site with modern spotless facilities. It is also conveniently situated, by Forfar Loch (a circuit of which makes an attractive and easy - flat - and short pre-breakfast run). It isn't far to walk into Forfar itself, but I didn't find Forfar to be an attractive town. It has an air of having seen better days. Just a personal view and others will no doubt disagree.

Lovely site, good location

Our first visit, it's a lovely site, friendly wardens excellent toilet and shower block, spotlessly clean. Good location by the small loch, we visited Arbroath, good parking on sea front to north side for motor homes and nice walk on the cliffs, town has seen better days. Fofar nice small town, supermarkets handy and a good base to visit the Angus Glens and Glamis. We will be returning to explore the area more.

Relaxing Site

Spacious pitches, well kept clean facilities, friendly helpful wardens, shops close by. We visited Glamis Castle, had a very interesting tour there also spent a day in Arbroath and purchased some Arbroath Smokies and sampled some Forfar Birdies which were huge and delicious.  Will definitely use again if we're in this area.

Top site

This is a great site, the kids had great fun riding round and round on bikes. Very clean facilities. The only downside is that the toilets and showers close for 1hr 45 mins at 10.30am, compared to sites like stonehaven which has the same size block and only closes for 1hr plus 10.30am we feel is quite early. Will definitely stay here again :-)

Forfar

We come back every year as great well maintained, bonnie site near to everything. Great for kids and dog walkers.  Loch on doorstep as is Leisure Centre and shops, pubs, food.  Busy site but perfect.  Met fellow Greyhound owners,  'Hi' to the family of 4 and 3 greyhounds!  And the x- greyhound racer boy.  ??????

Lovely site

One of the best club sites in the area, very clean and tidy. Lovely walks around Forfar loch and town. Only down side some people on site had up to six dogs, I have a dog my self and think the club should restrict it to a maximum of two dogs on the  club sites. ?? P.S all the dogs were well behaved just like the owners ??

Down by the waterside

Easy to find site by the small Loch very near to the centre of the town. Showers, toilets very clean (appear to have been recently built/refurbished). Level pitches with selection of grass and hardstanding. Very busy but it was school holiday time. Unfortunately due to family issues could only stay one night of the two we'd booked. Will have to revisit to see something of the area, i.e. handy for Glamis Castle amongst other attractions. Chapter and Verse on Castle Street worth a visit if not cooking in the 'van - family business, good food.

The Perfect Site

We spent five nights in July at Forfar Lochside. I cannot speak highly enough of this site. The location is excellent offering lakeside walks, golf courses nearby, and easy access to Dundee, Arbroath, Kirriemuir and surrounding area. The site is within the town of Forfar with supermarkets, restaurants and pubs as well as niche shops. The site facilities are excellent and are maintained to the highest standard by the outstanding warden team. This is a friendly site, and is a shining example of what Caravan Club sites should be. We will be back.
