A short break at Forfar

A well kept site beside a lochside, a lovely walk round the loch takes about an hour, dog was seriously happy. The town of Forfar is a few minutes walk from the site with a good mix of shops for those who like to shop. The "number one" supermarket Aldi just across the road. The site is level hard standings and the facilities up to date and spotlessly clean. We only had one night at this site but we want to return.

PERFECT

Visited the site for a week in October. Everything, including the wardens was excellent. Within walking distance to all shops in Forfar. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and shall certainly return.  Thanks to the wardens. Alex and Moira

Great site for visiting family

We have family living in Forfar so this site suits us perfectly.  Excellent for the grandchildren, with a large play area at the adjacent leisure centre together with plenty of grassy fields for ball games.  Facilities are well kept, with some pitches having nice views over the loch.  Good bakery and butcher in town, plus several supermarkets.  Fish and chips from the chippie on North Street highly recommended.

Lochside a treat

I can fully endorse most of the other reviews about this site. It's clean, tidy and friendly, and the wardens work hard to keep it that way. The town is all within easy walking distance as are a choice of supermarkets. Plenty of choice for walking the dog, a stroll around the loch itself is a pleasant ramble, but can be wet and muddy in places. If you have children with you a play area next door has plenty of variety. Glamis castle is close, a very lovely day out along with all the other wonderful things Scotland has to offer. All together a site to return to.

Superb site

Great location next to loch, toilets/showers were up with the best i've seen, friendly wardens.10 minute walk from town centre, Aldi/Lidl 5 minute walk, only downside is a football pitch next to site, language was a bit choice but doesn't bother me personally, might if you had kids.Excellent base for Glamis castle which is better than most castles i've visited.

Recommended

We chose this site as it is close to Glamis Castle and the glens a bit further up North. The warden was very friendly, everything was in a perfect state, shops are really close by.

First Time Visit

This was our first visit to Lochside and it was as a result of a recommendation from a family friend. This is a lovely well kept site within a country park and is ideal for families. There is a play park adjacent to the site, a leisure centre next to the site and a skatepark. Our grand children spent hours using these facilities. There are supermarkets close by, Asda, Tesco, Lidl & Aldi. The wardens are very hard working and pleasant and keep the site immaculate. I missed the entrance to the site as there is not the usual Caravan Club signage at the entrance. We will certainly be back at Lochside.

Excellent Site

Easy to walk into Forfar. Supermarkets close by. Site is so clean, even the soap dispensers in the washing machines are spotless. Toilet facilities are A1. Wardens are so hard working I got tired just watching them. The site is a credit to them. Very impressed.
