We have just left after a fabulous four night stay. We had a lovely relaxed stay. The wardens were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They work very hard to keep the site clean, and it is super clean! Toilet blocks and food prep area spotless, bin areas emptied and checked on a regular basis and stones always swept back onto pitches. The local shops and restaurants are a very short walk away and the loch is just beautiful. We walked it twice during our stay. Lovely and peaceful. There is also a leasure centre and a huge park for children right next door to the site. The site is also handy for visiting further up into scotland too. We went to Fort William, Ben Nevis and Aviemore. We were not disturbed by any road noise or other nois during our stay and we found the ducks amusing to watch. Also our awning blew out of the caravan holding strip and a lovely couple came running across to help us followed by another very kind lady. A huge thanks to them. To conclude a very welcoming, clean and friendly site. We look forward to a return visit.
As on our previous visits to Forfar, a lovely 4 day stay, and even the sun shone for us. We cannot fault Forfar Loch site, it is such a joy. The wardens are so friendly and always willing to give what help you, if it be needed. The site has easy access, the toilet lock is of very standard and kept clean and tidy. A short walk to all the shops. We will return.
I found the site easy to locate just out side the town it's an easy five minute walk to the shops and restaurants the site it's self was immaculate with a very hard-working staff who had time to speak to everyone the service sites were on the ball on the down side was the road noise all towns have it but this was of set by the walks around the town and the loch right on your doorstep if you want a good Sunday lunch try the stag hotel out standing roast and the staff are very nice !
May just be my sat nag but the post code took us beyond the entrance which was not really marked - follow signs for leisure centre!
Nice site well laid out, try to avoid pitches beside tall trees as these block the sun for good part of day - having said that great facilities - very close to town centre and shops, tourist attractions - as another report suggest toilets do close for a good while compared to other sites - though restricted facilities round corner.
- Simple question for sites - would you go back and we definitely will
Arrived here for a 3 day stay and liked the look of it so much we booked for a further 3 days. We picked our pitch so we had a great view of the loch and even had a visit by the ducks that sneaked under the fence! Although quite busy it was mainly adults so didn't have too many kids running around. There was a bit of noise from the playground outside the site and also the football pitches nearby.
There is a notice on the shower block door that the block would be shut between 10:30 and 12:15 for cleaning, we felt that this was a bit long and each of the four individual units could have been closed in turn. There is a separate toilet that you can use at this time but don't expect a lay in and a late shower.
Nice walk around the loch (can be a bit muddy), and plenty to do around the area.
Overall a very nice site and we will return again.
This was our 1st trip away this seasoned it did not disappoint. For being newly opened the site was very tidy and the toilets were lovely and warm and absolutely spotless. the wardens were very friendly and very hard working. well worth a visit.
Lovely site to start off the 2016 season. Site was clean and tidy despite the wet spell we have all experienced lately. Toilet & Office building was very clean and warm.
Great location for country walks around Loch or nearby countryside hills etc, and also within close proximity of Forfar Town Centre.
Shops / Pubs / Restaurants to suit all.
Well worth a visit.
