Well Kept & Good Location

A very well looked after site within easy walking distance of the town of Forfar which has a good choice of supermarkets, shops, bars and eating places. Adjacent to the site is a loch with a very pleasant 3 mile walk round it so if you have a dog its near perfect. Curiously one of the two gates from the site is kept permanently locked so you are left wondering why they paid to put it in! The number lock on the only other gate can take a few attempts to get through. The only other strange one is that they shut the toilets for one hour forty five minutes each day! One can only wonder about how messy they are expecting their guests to be! Fairly minor stuff we will certainly be making return visits to this site.

Lochside Forfar

Nice clean site as expected from any Caravan Club Site. Nice location near loch for walks and situated close to shops in Forfar. Seaside locations easily accessed and not far from Dundee to explore the city's attractions. Only a slight gripe - toilet facilities close for cleaning a bit early at 10.30 for 2 hours! Also there is a wet trek across grass to get to toilet block if you are on the far side of the site - suggest placing some slabs at least.

Great site-but!

To start with we had trouble finding the site. Eventually we had to visit the local cop shop, to get directions. A sign, for the CC site, on the main road would be a great advantage. The site was extremely well maintained and looked after. Like another reviewer we also noted  a m/bike running up and down on the road alongside the loch. Not very safe? We feel that the toilet closing times for cleaning are too early and long and for both to be shut at the same time is silly. Another  site  has the same set-up with one door leading into the toilet block, yet they can still split the closing times. Also to be closed from 10.30 am till 12.15 pm is excessive. However, despite these little things we had a great time. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, a rare trait nowadays. The site being so close to local shops and the town center was a great benefit. Very handy for the local attractions.

Well run site but use of adjacent park area problematical

One, apparently young, dirt bike rider ran back and forth at reckless speeds on the adjacent local authority parklands without let or hindrance over an extended period on the evening of our visit.  If this is a regular occurrence perhaps the Club should inform the appropriate authorities not only for the annoyance value but also due to danger to other members of the Public who were quite evidently making use of the same area next to Forfar Leisure Centre.

One of the Best

Forfar Lochside is a beautiful site situated next to the Loch. The site is well sheltered and attractively laid out.  The facility block is maintained spotlessly.  Surely one of the best of the Caravan Club sites.

Great site, but.........

We are almost locals and this site is not too far away from us but thought we would try it. Overall an excellent site. It's level, easy walk into town, famous Forfar Bridies , excellent walk around the Loch for all. Site kept really well, tidy, clean. Low points were the length of time the showers close for cleaning, they have other toilets that can be used though.I appreciate that to keep the site nice requires work. It had been a bit of a wet week but the sun shone on Saturday. Everyone was out sitting in the sun. Unfortunately so was the warden with a strimmer until half five at night. He was doing the edge around pitches. On the pitch next to us he covered the lady and her sun lounger in grass cuttings.

June 2016

This site was difficult to find - no club signpost and we passed by and had to ask a local!  Also am not happy with the early (10.30am) and long closure (until 12.15) of the toilet block with no optional facilities being available.  Thank God for Tesco & Asda!  We are on holiday after all and not everyone is an early riser!  2 service points do not really meet the reqirements of a busy site!  Otherwise a lovely site and handy for the town.

First visit to Forfar

Overall the site is good but for me it falls below the clubs usual standard as it only has two service points. It really, and I mean really needs another and there is enough room, pitch 50 good place. So let's hope this is rectified to bring it up to the clubs otherwise high standard.

Good as ever ( when you find it )

Stayed over at lochside caravan club site site was clean and tidy and facilities per usual caravan club standard. Wardens friendly when we eventually found the site. Drove past a couple of times didn't see any club site sign on the main road, maybe they should invest in one. Used the site as a stop over as we were heading further up north we would visit again as Forfar has a lot to offer.
