I've only just rejoined the caravan club and this is my first stay. If this is what I have to look forward to then I'm impressed. You would not know you were in a city, so quiet. The site is huge and beautiful. The facilities are excellent. The staff are wonderful. I don't think you could ask for more. I let my membership lapse because I went to the continent, WHY???? So pleased I woke up and rejoined.
A good base
Our stay was fine and the site is easily up to CC standards. I would mention that the "quiet" side is in places VERY close to the Nene Valley Railway, and the steam trains can be surprisingly loud, running till around 10pm? just a small point for potential bookers to be aware of.
The pitches seemed roomy enough and the area well groomed, but we didn't see any pitches that had "views" (though we didn't get to see all of the site) so whilst a nice location to stay and use as a base, nowhere to open your awning and admire the view.
We didn't have time to explore the park (went to see Peterborough United play), but will definitely go back for a wander around.
Oh and a special mention to the wardens in reception for the loan of a club hammer to help me pitch our new awning for the first time, as well as the sale of numerous heavy duty pegs and a TV cable! Thank you!
First time
We came mid August the first time we had been on a club site as normally stay in cl sites.
The showers and toilets were clean
It's a great place for dog walks
Would recommend for families but not if your hoping for a quiet few days
Ideal Site
Excellent site ideally located on the edge of a large country park.
Facilities on the site are the same as all club sites and kept very clean by the wardens, as is the rest of the site.
Split into two areas the quieter side is on the side of the booking in area which also houses the majority of the hard standings. The other site is mainly grass pitches and houses the new play park which has recently been built. This is definitely not the side to go if you want a peaceful time, however it is perfect for children to enjoy their time and basically do what kids do best. Have fun and make a noise.
The country park has numerous activities which are listed on the site website and nearby cycle routes, golf courses, fishing lakes and other water based sports are available. The park is very busy and is always full of people enjoying the environment and every time I have stayed I have never seen any unruly behaviour. Families go there to picnic or have BBQ and generally have fun.
If you like walking there is an easy path to follow which takes you into the centre of Peterborough and also bus routes at the top of Ham Lane if you don't fancy the trek.
The pub at the top of the lane is ideal for a quick refreshment however, if going for a meal I would recommend looking elsewhere. In my experience the food was not very good and the service left a bit to be desired.
The wardens do a tremendous job, especially considering the size of the place.
Can't fault their efforts or friendliness.
On my latest visit there was added security checking vans onto the site. A nice touch as apparently travellers had parked up in the local area.
Definitely recommend a visit
Fabulous site
Stayed for two nights to work out my new (to me) Campervan.
Stayed on the West site as I was told this was the quieter side as the other side was mainly families.
I loved being on the edge of the Ferry Meadows/Nene Park with plenty of walking and cycling.
Only thing missing was showers on site. Had I stayed longer of in the middle of summer I would definitely have wanted a shower with all the walking and cycling.
Fantastic
We stayed over the last bank holiday = very busy, the site is amazing staff are very friendly and the new park is superb, tho I did feel for the people who's caravans backed on to the new ball area (a few dents there I think) on the whole we had a fantastic time.
What's not to like
Friendly wardens, clean facilities, lovely site, access to ferry meadows country park. Nice walk to the Woodman pub on the golf course with great real real ale. Trains too if you like that kind of thing ?? Don't go to the windmill - very expensive but nothing special.

Stopover Site
We stopped over at Ferry Meadows for one night on our way to the Broads and one night on our way back.
What a brilliant site and the location superb, the facilities were excellent, the staff very helpful but the location was beautiful, lakes, wildlife, parks, steam trains, boats I could go on we loved it and plan to return for a longer stay to,see more of the park and surrounding area.
The perfect holiday
We had a great holiday on this site, we stayed on the west side (quieter) for six days with our Grandson who is 12 yrs of age. We all loved it, we took our cycles and cycled round the off road tracks, no hills!! perfect, every day, we were blessed with lovely weather, walking distance to play golf, we played pitch and putt on the 12 hole course. The railway station was within walking distance, had a trip on the steam train into Peterborough, thoroughly enjoyable. Nene Park is beautiful. The campsite itself is well kept, the toilet and shower blocks are kept spotless, staff very helpful, the fish and chip van visits 3 evenings a week, the ice cream van every evening, grandson used most evenings! Can't wait to visit again next year.

Great Site with Loads to do
Can i just say what a pleasant and clean site this is, the local pubs and walks are great. We hired bikes and played mini golf it was great. The Site itself was one of the cleanest and well run sites I've ever been to and would go again. There was one warden who was a bit of a miserable so and so, but don't let that take away the fact that the site is great for couples or families. The chip van is also a great visit 3 times a week.
