What's not to like

Friendly wardens, clean facilities, lovely site, access to ferry meadows country park.  Nice walk to the Woodman pub on the golf course with great real real ale.  Trains too if you like that kind of thing ??  Don't go to the windmill - very expensive but nothing special.

Stopover Site

We stopped over at Ferry Meadows for one night on our way to the Broads and one night on our way back. What a brilliant site and the location superb, the facilities were excellent, the staff very helpful but the location was beautiful, lakes, wildlife, parks, steam trains, boats I could go on we loved it and plan to return for a longer stay to,see more of the park and surrounding area.

The perfect holiday

We had a great holiday on this site, we stayed on the west side (quieter) for six days with our Grandson who is 12 yrs of age. We all loved it, we took our cycles and cycled round the off road tracks, no hills!! perfect, every day, we were blessed with lovely weather, walking distance to play golf, we played pitch and putt on the 12 hole course. The railway station was within walking distance, had a trip on the steam train into Peterborough, thoroughly enjoyable. Nene Park is beautiful. The campsite itself is well kept, the toilet and shower blocks are kept spotless, staff very helpful, the fish and chip van visits 3 evenings a week, the ice cream van every evening, grandson used most evenings! Can't wait to visit again next year.

Great Site with Loads to do

Can i just say what a pleasant and clean site this is, the local pubs and walks are great. We hired bikes and played mini golf it was great. The Site itself was one of the cleanest and well run sites I've ever been to and would go again. There was one warden who was a bit of a miserable so and so, but don't let that take away the fact that the site is great for couples or families. The chip van is also a great visit 3 times a week.

Didn't want to come home

Was a bit nervous about this site as I grew up staying on CL's. Can't get used to the small spaces between vans on Club sites but needn't have worried as not one single complaint about this site. Was given good advice about pitching up on the 'quieter' side which I was so grateful for as the side with the paly area was 'busy' to say the least. Even though we have a 4 year old, who visited the play area when the ice cream van did his rounds, we wouldn't have wanted to stay on that side. Our side was lovely. Toilets were spotless (shame about the vandals and history of travellers which they now have in hand by way of person checking all arrivals), grounds were spotless but special mention to the wardens. All exceptionally friendly and helpful (in stark contrast to the Kent site we stayed on at Easter). Overall and excellent 5 day trip over Aug BH w/end. Only comment...dog owners - can you stop allowing your dogs to pee behind your vans please when a dog walk is provided. You wouldn't like me doing it so what's the difference? If it wasn't for work, we would have stayed some more days. Definitely coming back one day.

excellent site

We stayed at the site over the August bank holiday weekend it was full but as the site is set out over both sides of the road the east side is more where large family groups stay as that is where the play ground is, This leaves the West side much quieter and even though is it as big site it really doesn't seem that big. If you like walking to country pubs then is will be a great site for you to visit as the warden give you a list of about 8 pubs all within easy walking distance we tried six of them and all very friendly.

Best caravan club to date

Wow this site is amazing so much to do and see. Stayed for 2 nights beginning of August. The wardens interact with everyone very friendly and its clear to see they love their jobs. A credit to the caravan club we will definitely be going back.

Great few days

Stayed with my grandsons for a few days ..they loved the new play ground . Went on the steam train for the day ..reduced price when staying on site. The toddler / baby bathroom was brilliant for little ones . All staff excellent and the sites a credit to them. Went round the cathedral in Peterborough with the boys and they enjoyed the water splashing in the city centre .

A Bit Crowded

Ferry Meadows is in a wonderful location and as a consequence, it gets very busy. The recent addition of a new play area for the kids makes the site even more attractive to families. However, this makes area around the play area seem very crowded and 'hemmed in'. Other areas , however, are peaceful and quiet. One last word: It is sad to see that the club has seen the need to re-introduce keypad locks on the Toilet Block due to vandals having caused damage. The wardens keep the site and the facilities in excellent condition and it must be disheartening for them to see such damage !

Fantastic Stay

Stopped at Ferry Meadow at the end of August for the first time. I must admit this is one of the best caravan club sites I have stayed on. Perfect location for walking. The country park is a few steps away from the entrance and if you have dogs they will love it. Open spaces, dog agility and water. It's all they wish for. Short work to the nearest pub for a quick drink and a nice walk into Peterborough which is a stunning city. We had fantastic weather and the site perfect for our family. If you have kids plenty of activities and things to do and the fish and chip van was exceptional. We will definitely be back
