We enjoy going to this site now been 3 times. The site is very clean and tidy and well looked after. Lots of walks through the parks and able to cycling without going on the roads.
5th Visit and still loving it.
This site is conveniently located for everyone to enjoy the countryside, as it is bang in the middle of Nene Valley Park, great for dog walks and families as it has numerous lakes and BBQ points for everyone to enjoy. The Site itself is clean and can accommodate the largest of vehicles all within close proximity to the toilets and service points. I am now waiting for the bookings to open up for next year so we can book again, overall this site in my opinion is one of the best that the Caravan Club has to offer.
Good site, a few things to watch out for
Basics, on which one depends, are fine - a clean, well-organised site next door to the Nene Country Park with relatively easy access to the city and its not-to-be-missed, magnificent cathedral. Much to recommend, particularly the lay-out which makes a big site seem quiet and cosy. Better lighting of the driveways would help elderly people like us going back and forth on foot in the dark. And while this in no way detracts from the very good standard of the site, the directions given for walking to shops and buses are a tad difficult to fathom. Maybe that was our inadequacy - but local residents who helped us out said the directions were far from clear. Having tried to follow directions to Tesco Express, I ended up at Londis! It was easier to find one's way across the desert in a conflict 20 years ago than to find the bus stop to the city - which is the same as the one from the city. As there are stops on both sides of the road, it is a bit challenging till a helpful local tells you that one stop is out of use!
Simply a nice place to be
We love this site, perfect for a stroll round and even better for a nice bike ride. Nene valley country park is lovely. Make sure you read your welcome as there are quite a few discounts to had at local pubs and attractions.
We love this site and hope to be back soon.
Excellent weekend
Plenty of location options hard and soft standings. Very good facilities. Ideal area for walking, cycling, water sports and family and group gatherings. Adjacent to Nene valley railway. Easy access to Peterborough and local villages. Very good road network for access.
Stunning
First time visitor to ferry meadows also first time on a caravan club site. Both experiences were excellent, friendly wardens, nice clean toilets, excellent location. Stayed 3 days, and each day we took our dogs on 3 different walks around the lakes, stunning beautiful area, the site was very spacious and the wardens very friendly, definitely going back soon:-)
Good place for walking and cycling
Visited on 17th September for a 2 night stay, great to park the motor home and not have to move it to get anywhere. Feet and bikes are all you need. Very pleasant cycle ride to Peterborough all off road through trees and along near the steam railway and bridge over the river. Grandchildren joined us one of the days (granddads birthday) they enjoyed Ferry meadows play park and mini steam train and a good walk round the lake. Nice café but could not get near it as we had clashed with a fun run. Maybe next time. Staff friendly, all facilities spotless (as I expect from a club site)

A September stay
Lovely site on the edge of the country park, unlike another review I found the wardens friendly and helpful. Maybe the reviewer who's children were shouted at were not behaving, I wasn't on site at the same time so I don't know. The facilities were spotlessly clean and modern. My last site visit was to Black Knowl where the facilities are not only disgraceful they were dangerous despite the efforts of the wardens, what a pleasant change to go to a site living up to the Club's high standards.
Not impressed
Where do l start. All the reviews saying the wardens are wonderfull, well they must have been on Holliday when we're there. We had the most miserable head warden I have ever met. Never will we return to this hell again.
Everyone talks about child friendly certainly not this site, unless your children enjoy being shouted at and constantly blamed for playing.
Hate it
If you can tolerate the children and ball games.....
Easy access, good positioned sunny level pitch number 110, transport and cycle path / links to Peterborough, no site 'gotchas'. Nice pub at the top of Ham Lane (Granary), a tranquil family site with good practical thinking wardens - we will be rebooking soon.
