Fantastic Site Fantastic Wardens

We absolutely love this site and use it regular, the wardens our great can have a laugh and great banter. For those of you who slag the wardens you certainly must have got on the wrong side of them, We have never ever found them rude or abrupt, and as for the person slating off about all the notices scatter around the site they our their for your protection, if their were nothing telling you what’s what you would still complain, so the wardens can’t win. They have rules to follow it is their job so give them some slack. And as for them riding around in their truck they do have lots of things to do other than clean toilets, like bins and maintenance on 2 sites, just find something else to moan about because they do a fantastic job and l would like to see some of you lot do their job. They also get a lot of abuse and threats to put up with l have seen it first hand. We would like to wish Alan & Dee à fond farewell in your move to another site we will miss you both very much, keep doing what you our doing because we think you both do a fantastic job and we will both miss you

Irritating, unfriendly and needs updating

The location of this site is great and it has the potential to be first class. Small things let it down but we hope that this review allows some of these to be addressed. On arriving at the site you have to press an intercom button to be allowed in. Be careful. We saw one member lower his window to be greeted by one of the wardens (no face mask) trying to poke his head through the window to speak to him - remember Face and Space! This may seem picky, but as I checked in on Saturday 17th October I was told off for having a membership card that was out of date (our new one hadn't been posted before we left home on our travels, so had expired two weeks earlier). I was then told off for not having the Track & Trace App on my phone. Until you've had a lovely holiday in the south of England on non-club sites you don't realise how well everything runs with simple, minimal direction. On club sites like these its very hard to fully relax. As I was spotted cleaning my motorvan windscreen the warden who booked me in shouted across "I hope that you're only going to clean the windscreen!". Visiting the toilet (why do they have to close the whole block, male & female, for two hours from 10.00 -12.00?) was an experience. I've rarely seen so much white & red tape and so many signs telling us that the water supply had been disconnected and that we must not use the urinal, washbasin, shower etc. We had a sign telling us not to forget to return our wristband to the Milton. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was a full side of A4 that was a rant about baby wipes. There were at least 30 copies of this, all meticulously laminated and apparently endorsed by Sir David Attenborough. It's just a shame that nobody checked it for spelling and punctuation errors. It's just a shame that to stay on this site costs so much and yet you are meant to feel so grateful and guilty. Moving into the 21st Century doesn't mean that you have to use a leaf blower when a brush would do. Why have the noisy vehicles not gone electric? It's a shame to see soo much paper wasted on laminated notices. It's just so depressing that the staff on this site seem to be so irritated by members staying on it. With a more friendly site team, additional stones on most of the hard standings and an upgrading of the toilet blocks, this site would be splendid.

Lovely Site Excellent Wardens

Our stay here did not start too well... we arrived late and the receptionist told us there were no hard standing (should have stayed in the car park and waited for one the next day...) she gave me a map and a lot of the fields were closed as they were too boggy . We drove onto the first field that was ‘ok’ and duly got stuck, the wardens had a look and said we will have to dig you out in the morning. So our first night was in the middle of a field but it was fine. The wardens were fantastic and dug us out on the Saturday morning, we went straight onto a hard standing and it was fine. The dog walks around this site are amazing you can walk as long and far as you want. The site is spotless and everybody works really hard, we will come back for sure this is one of our top 5! The fish and chip van is also very good so indulge yourself!

All round good site

This was our first Club site we have visited. The staff were helpful & friendly and the site was overall nice. Because of the restrictions in place at the moment there is a band system in place and reduced amount of showers etc available. Unfortunately some people seemed to forget that there may bve others waiting to use the facilities. My husband had to wait outside for over 5 minutes for someone to come out before he could enter the building and once inside had to wait over 20 minutes for a shower as the people using them were taking an extra long one. He did think about going back later but decided against it. He finally had his shower and came out but the 'culprit' shower was still being used by the same person!!! Overall the site was lovely and plenty of walks to do around the site. Our pitch was perfect & plenty of space around us and not too close to our neighbours like we have found on other sites. We will most certainly be visiting again very soon

Lovely Site & Very Helpful Wardens

First time we had been here, arrived late on a Friday in the pouring rain! Told all hard standing had gone , only grass left. Not knowing the site we followed the map and went on to a field, after a little while we got very stuck! Went to reception and they said they could not do anything until the morning! So we spent Friday night in the middle of a field! Come Saturday morning the wardens came to dig us out and they were brilliant! Managed to then get on hard standing and had a great weekend. Lovely sites, very clean with superb dog walks very near by!

Lovely site, just one tiny problem

This is a lovely campsite, very well maintained and in a lovely location. We had a really peaceful long weekend here. In terms of Covid, the measures taken were sensible and kept us safe at all times. definitely a five star site and five star interactions with the wardens. We did have a problem while we stayed here: one of our bikes was stolen in the early hours by some oiks in a dark coloured van. Absolutely not the fault of the campsite - our property, our responsibility to secure properly. And the wardens were incredibly helpful in calling HQ and arranging extra security cover for the next few nights in case this was part of an organised spate. My only niggle was that the campsite CCTV system was either not working properly or not recording and so it's a reminder to us all to keep an eye out for fellow campers and secure your property properly even when on lovely club sites! Hope the CCTV issues can get resolved ;-) Good news: Peterborough bobbies are more switched on than they are in my area and actually visited the campsite and looked for fingerprints etc!

Excellent site for all ages

We are local to this site, can walk to it from our house but stayed here while having some work done at home. Wardens very helpful and friendly on arrival, it was very busy. Site well kept, wardens make sure members pitch correctly, to ensure the fire rule is adhered to. Alan gave some sound advice as my dogs hate hi-vis and loved a good woof at him. East side great for families as play area. Can’t comment on facilities as always use our own. Definitely a 5* site.

Disappointing

We had not been here for a number of years. Having had a wet and muddy journey along the A47 where tractors and lorries had sprayed the motor home my husband was getting the worst off the lights when the warden came belting over to tell him off. He then came back round to make sure we hadn’t done any more. I had read about him in other reviews. He and the other warden spent a lot of time just belting around on their truck doing a lot of nothing. Some of the hand sanitizers were empty for the 3days we were there and one morning we found the facilities locked for 24 hours. We won’t be returning

Love this site

Lovely site great wardens , nice walks , trip on steam railway, easy walk to Tesco express lovely walks around Nene park. Thankyou for keeping us safe even against those selfish members who decided to keep the bands so they could always get in regardless of others

Wardens at Ferry Meadows are brilliant and very helpful they always go out there way to help

we arrived at ferry meadows on the Friday, this is our favourite site and all the wardens are so very kind and helpful. Unfortunately on the Saturday one of our dogs has a freak accident when walking back from a walk across the park and lake itself. Suddenly out of the blue one of our dogs incurred a severe neck and chest injury, she started to bleed to death. My husband ran back to the club site to get a first aid kit. Alan the main warden jumped on his four wheel buggy along with my husband with a first aid kit. Alan drove through the park and quickly lifted our dog onto the back of the buggy, bought us all back to site along with our other two dogs. He then loaded our injured dog in our Nissan Navara. He had already contacted a Vet for us to go too. We then went straight to the address of the Vet that Alan had given us. Sadly because of the injury our dog had incurred we had no choice but to have her put to sleep. We would just like to thank Alan and all his helpers that if he had not intervened so quickly our dog would have incurred more suffering and would have died in great pain. We cannot thank him enough, he is great guy one of the best. We always love going to Ferry Meadows because all of the wardens are friendly and very helpful. Once again thankyou we cannot thank you enough. Steve and Annie Turner
