Fantastic Site

We have stayed on this site 4 times, every visit has been fantastic. The site is very well kept and the wardens are very friendly and the facilities are kept spotlessly clean. It is a very peaceful and quiet site which is perfect for us. We will certainly be back.

Peaceful and Quiet

A very peaceful and quiet little site. We were a bit concerned when we read about the 2 mile drive along narrow roads to get there but then realised that's only if you don't follow the directions! Fortunately we did and so there was only about 1/2 mile along a narrow road to the entrance. We were warmly welcomed by Caroline - and she also came out to say goodbye to us. What a great warden! We found Hastings wasn't motorhome friendly at all. The car parks - including Hastings Country Park - all had height barriers. Apparently there's parking towards Bexhill on the seafront but we didn't find that. We walked through the woods to the village and across fields to the shingle beach at Pett Level. A lovely walk but quite steep coming back. Apart from the beach there wasn't much there, so we sat on the beach for a while then walked back stopping at the Royal Oak for a well deserved drink in the garden! The facilities were clean and the wristband system seemed to be working well.

Perfect Site

Just returned from a ten night stay at this exceptional site. Our pitch was separated by hedgerow and backed by the woods so plenty of birdsong to enjoy. This is a small peaceful site with lots of walks to enjoy especially the one through the woods to the local pub. Unfortunately the peace was blighted on occasions by some inconsiderate dog owners who allowed their pets to yap away every time someone passed which I suppose is not the fault of the dog but the owners. The site is a credit to the wardens who keep the site at its best and are extremely friendly and helpful. Due to COVID restrictions the toilet and shower block are restricted but when we did take use of them there was never any queue so I guess most are using their own facilities. There is a beach nearby but for the less active it would be best to drive as there is a very steep hill to negotiate on the way back! Take the coast road to the small town of Rye which is very quaint with cobbled streets and a fine church to explore. Hastings is just a short drive and like many seaside resorts it looked a little tired but we found Bexhill on Sea a few more miles past Hastings to be a much better resort with the promenade being kept clean and inviting. All in all our stay at Fairlight was really enjoyable and we hope to return again in the future.

Don't follow sat nav.

Very peaceful site up to the the usual club standard. Neil and Caroline are excellent hosts. Pub through the woods serves great food. After being stuck in traffic for 2 hours, without thinking I followed the sat nav. What a hairaising white knuckle ride for about 3 miles (seemed like 30). Both mirrors touching trees, luckly only met 3 cars and all reversed for me to get through. Motto: Believe the book.

Puppy training!

Just back from a short 3 night stay here to get our puppy used to being in the motorhome and how to behave on site (which I think he did very well at). A perfect site for us, only an hour from home but could have been anywhere in the UK. Lovely woodland setting with Guestling Woods just over the road and ideal for walking the dog in the wonderful heat wave we had whilst there. The local pub is only a few minutes through the woods and although we did not eat there, everyone we spoke to said how good the food was. The staff are extremely friendly and the site is exceptionally well kept and the Covid restrictions worked well. Have booked again for the autumn and looking forward to it already.

Another gorgeous stay at Fairlight

We have just completed our fourth visit to this site. It’s perfect for peace and quiet, dog walking, if you have a dog, make sure you go to Guestling Woods opposite the site, beech visits and quiet countryside. Can’t wait for our next visit.

2nd Stay

As others have said a little gem of a site with good wardens. Our tiype of site not uniformed and set in the woods, full of flowers. No showers due to Government covid rules. Controls on-site work well.

Lovely little gem

We had the pleasure of staying at Fairlight as a convenience stop over, however were very pleasantly surprised at what a little gem it is. There is a nice friendly welcome from the team, spotlessly clean facilities, and a 5 minute walk to a beautiful pub in the village of Pett. We took a taxi into Hastings for the afternoon which was £7.80 each way. Not a young family sight but great for couples.

Exquisite little site

Stayed for 3 nights, warm, safe welcome from the warden. Small chilled site but lots to do in the area, walking, cycling, visiting Hastings, Rye. Good for dogs. Two Sawyer's Pub is lovely and covid safe for food and drink excellent. Absolutely loved it.

A haven of calm.

We have just spent seven nights at this beautiful site as part of our 3 1/2 week tour of South East England. It was our second visit, the previous one being several years ago and we were delighted to find that it had lost none of its charm. We were fortunate to get one of the pitches benefitting from the sun all day; some do not and some are in the shadow of the trees all day. We received a warm, though Corvid restricted, welcome from the wardens who were friendly and cheerful throughout our stay. We relied entirely on our own facilities so are unable to comment on the toilet/shower block but Corvid restrictions were in evidence both there and at the service points which we did use. One novel feature was that the wardens serviced these points using a hand cart rather than the normal tractor, further preserving the peace and quiet. As other have reported the location is ideal for many walking and visiting trips throughout the area and has the bonus of a short walk through the woods to the nearby ‘Two Sawyers’ pub in Pett village which is not to be missed! This site is a definite on our list to revisit when next we are in the area.
