Another gorgeous stay at Fairlight

We have just completed our fourth visit to this site. It’s perfect for peace and quiet, dog walking, if you have a dog, make sure you go to Guestling Woods opposite the site, beech visits and quiet countryside. Can’t wait for our next visit.

2nd Stay

As others have said a little gem of a site with good wardens. Our tiype of site not uniformed and set in the woods, full of flowers. No showers due to Government covid rules. Controls on-site work well.

Lovely little gem

We had the pleasure of staying at Fairlight as a convenience stop over, however were very pleasantly surprised at what a little gem it is. There is a nice friendly welcome from the team, spotlessly clean facilities, and a 5 minute walk to a beautiful pub in the village of Pett. We took a taxi into Hastings for the afternoon which was £7.80 each way. Not a young family sight but great for couples.

Exquisite little site

Stayed for 3 nights, warm, safe welcome from the warden. Small chilled site but lots to do in the area, walking, cycling, visiting Hastings, Rye. Good for dogs. Two Sawyer's Pub is lovely and covid safe for food and drink excellent. Absolutely loved it.

A haven of calm.

We have just spent seven nights at this beautiful site as part of our 3 1/2 week tour of South East England. It was our second visit, the previous one being several years ago and we were delighted to find that it had lost none of its charm. We were fortunate to get one of the pitches benefitting from the sun all day; some do not and some are in the shadow of the trees all day. We received a warm, though Corvid restricted, welcome from the wardens who were friendly and cheerful throughout our stay. We relied entirely on our own facilities so are unable to comment on the toilet/shower block but Corvid restrictions were in evidence both there and at the service points which we did use. One novel feature was that the wardens serviced these points using a hand cart rather than the normal tractor, further preserving the peace and quiet. As other have reported the location is ideal for many walking and visiting trips throughout the area and has the bonus of a short walk through the woods to the nearby ‘Two Sawyers’ pub in Pett village which is not to be missed! This site is a definite on our list to revisit when next we are in the area.

Our first outing as caravaners

What a lovely place. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Gave us directions to the local drinking venue which was lovely, Two sawyers. Great food and a max 10 minute walk. Gave us advice on where to park in fairlight to walk into hastings. Toilet facilities were spotless, showers nice and hot. Covid procedure was spot on. Well done. Would most definitely recommend.

Lovely and peaceful with spacious pitches

Lovely and peaceful with spacious pitches, good pitch no. wrist band system for covid-19 precautions. Great, efficient and friendly staff. Pretty lit up at night, which is fine but maybe unnecessary. Very clean respected facilities. Basic shop onsite with essentials and gas, then fish mongers/butchers/green grocers in Pett. Lovely walks 2.5 miles across wood and fields to beach, 0.5 miles through woods to Two Sawyers pub; 7.5 mike Walker from Pett Level round military canal to Winchelsea and back along beach levees added to 2.5 mile each to Pett Level. Nice cafes at Pett and Winchelsea. More to sea. Great shingle beaches.

A real gem of a site

This is a small quiet site, but set in a picturesque location, just right for walking in the woods, or on nearby Winchelsea beach or in Hastings, this site is ideal for those looking for peace and quiet. The husband and wife wardens on site in 2020 were excellent, and could not do more to make all the holidaymakers feel safe and secure in these covid related times. They both made a real effort to ensure that those staying on site were well looked after. Could not ask for more!

Peaceful site in a great location

Great wardens run & maintain an attractive & peaceful site with many trees for welcome shade which we needed with daytime temps of 30+. The surrounding area is a lovely area with lots to do & explore. Not much on the site for kids. Great site for dogs as lots of walks close by. Good pub a few minutes walk through the woods, other places to go & see close by.

Wooded site

Stayed 8 nights, weather good and the shade of the trees didnt impact our stay. The centre pitches seem to catch more sun, if thats wanted. The lane down was being Tarmaced on the day we arrived but the site had warned us of this and in the end it caused no issue. As previously said great for dog walks. We visited Rye, Hastings, and Eastbourne and some of the beaches in the area. The wardens worked like Trojans and made a superb effort cleaning the opened Bathrooms etc which must have caused them a lot more hours of work each day. We decided to use our vans facilities which suited us. A good site to tour the South coast and well run.
