A stay at Fairlight Wood Club Campsite is almost like taking a soothing break in a large and lovely garden. This is a small and intimate campsite set in flower rich woodland and with many quaint footpaths to wander along. The area is rich in historic value - the nearby seaside town of Hastings was William the Conqueror's base camp in 1066 and it was here he chose to build his famous castle following the historic victory at Battle.
Fairlight Wood Club Campsite offers a perfect retreat for nature lovers - its surrounding woodlands are listed as a Biodiversity area so are ideal for spotting wildlife. It's also in an ideal location for dog walking. The nearby Old Hastings is well worth the visit for its quiet charm - here you can watch the fisherman bringing home their daily catch, eat some of the freshest fish and chips you've ever tasted and then walk the meal off with a leisurely stroll along streets that still hold the atmosphere of days gone by. Choosing a holiday in East Sussex also puts you within a short distance from the scenic East Cliffs, and for walkers who enjoy a bit of a challenge, it connects with a lovely 5 mile Country Park walk which will lead you through a wealth of natural treats such as wooded valleys and secluded beaches. Look out for The Big White House in nearby Pett Level which was featured in the Channel Four series, Grand Designs.

Lovely and quiet and shower temperature and pressure best ever! Staff were very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. It’s a little remote and down a single track so beware of oncoming caravans as passing places were used for parking at the weekend we stayed. The nearest village has a good pub... Show more

A short drive quiet down a narrow lane leads to the campsite set in woodland. Be aware that the approach into Watermill Lane can easily be missed (the C&MH sign is quite small). Usual friendly, smiley welcome and being able to select our pitch is always a good start to... Show more

A typical club site with all you expect: great and informative reception, pick your own pitch, clean and well maintained facilities. The site is in a wood so most pitches are under trees (great on a hot sunny day). I prefer not to be under trees and managed to find... Show more

Really enjoyed 3 nights here, wooded shady site, weather didn’t behave but in 2 full days we fitted in Pett beach, Hastings, Battle Abbey and town, Rye and Camber Sands (for a look see but wish I’d taken a swim). Didn’t spend much time on site but appreciated... Show more

If you want peace and quiet this is the site. A smaller site is beautiful woodland surroundings. Great walks all around plus two pubs in village in walking distance. We park up our motorhome and walk during campsite stays. No childrens play area so makes it more... Show more

We arrived late afternoon, and as the last motorhome in we had no choice of pitch, which was expected, but we did not expect to have a pitch which was unbelievably uneven. For the first time ever our fridge would not work and by morning food had gone off and... Show more
