Top spot!

Not much I can say about this site that hasn’t been said already. The location is wonderful, the facilities are excellent and well maintained and the wardens are both welcoming, fun and friendly. You really couldn’t want for more. A few other CMC sites we’ve stayed at recently should take note!

A gem of a site.

We spent a lovely new year here. The Wardens are testament to what you wish all wardens were like- very helpful, friendly and quietly efficient - all you could ask for. I really shouldn’t tell you about this site. It’s so well positioned in the pretty, small town with great pubs, shops and places to eat. Perfect for walking and cycling - if you’re fit or own an E bike! The site is waterside and full of wildlife and kept immaculately. It’s really too good to share so please don’t tell everyone or we won’t get a pitch when we want to return!

Festive season vist

We have stayed at Exmoor House three times previously at Christmas and this year stayed on for New Year too. The welcome from the wardens on arrival was excellent. This site is ideally situated for the festive season (or any time of year) as it is so close to the town of Dulverton so that you can easily walk to the pubs, restaurants and shops. The site was immaculate as were the facilities. The wardens are knowledgeable about the local area and are able to recommend local walks and places of interest to visit. The wardens hosted a drinks and snacks event on both Christmas eve and New Years eve which was a great opportunity to socialise with others on site. The site was very peaceful despite being full and close to town. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be returning again next Christmas

Superb site for peace and quiet and friendliness

As new members this was our first C&M Club site. It was also our first touring excursion with our new/second hand caravan. Double jeopardy then! However, we couldn't have chosen a better site to start our new hobby/pastime and holiday basis of choice off with. What a wonderful little site. As we no longer need to worry about facilities for kids, Exmoor House provides the perfect choice. I/we can echo all of the positive comments from previous reviewers - warm welcome, helpful with choice of pitch, quiet and very friendly, easy drive around the site, super facilities, etc. There are no play areas so I only gave 3 for the 'good for families' question, but if your children like walking then there's plenty for them to do in the local areas. We only stayed here for 3 nights between Xmas and New Year, but we will be back again in 2019.

A really good winter site

This was the first visit to this site. Always been put off by town location but, certainly in winter, it was very quiet despite the site being full. Small town within walking distance and Exmoor a short drive away. Site in a lovely sheltered spot and, as expected from a club site, was well looked after. Really good site. Had to give a mark to families to submit review but no idea as there were no children on the site. Dogs seemed happy!

Warm welcome and relaxing week

Just had a week at this site, mid November and site is lovely. Nice warm welcome on arrival, shower blocks etc all kept spotless and great location at the center of Dulverton with the moors easily accessible by car. Was surprised how busy the site was, Friday 17th November site was just about full and Saturday was fully packed but plenty of room on each pitch so did not feel enclosed at all. This site has a feel of a very large car park rather than a grassy rural site as the back of the site is surrounded by houses staggered up the valley and is mainly hard standing with small areas of grass but this works well being completely dry in the winter months and makes the site very motor home friendly, also plenty of wildlife here in the valley, owls hooting at night and pheasants regularly making an appearance. Look forward to visiting again but would advise to book early to avoid disappointment if you are looking for an autumn break as it does seem to be very popular.

Lovely stay.

Had a lovely week here, pitch near the river, woke to the sound of the river Barle gurgling away. Facilities always pristine, just a short stroll into Dulverton for lovely meals at Mortimers restaraunt Right on the edge of Exmoor, short drive north to the coast. Nothing critical to say, a great site.

Peace and Tranquility, helped by the wardens

Our second visit of the year Exmoor House site, and it remains one of the best, particularly if you like, peace, quiet and the delights of a fantastic Exmoor location. Much has been said about the site in previous reviews, pointing out things such as how spotless the facilities are, how well kept the site is, how convenient nearby Dulverton is and the closest shops etc.

This is all true of course, but there’s one thing that doesn’t get much of a mention and that’s the peace and tranquility. Noise is limited to the babbling of the adjacent River Barle, and a distant peal of bells at Dulverton All Saints Church. All very rural, peaceful and relaxing.

The wardens play a very important part in maintaining the idyll. Instead of the noisy, petrol driven mini tractors that some site’s custodians seem fond of driving around to collect rubbish or just for transport, Exmoor house wardens make do with...... shanks’s pony and a wheelbarrow. Ok, it’s only a small site, so the silent “man- powered” rubbish collection works well and probably wouldn’t work very well at larger locations, but at Exmoor house it’s entirely appropriate, and there’s no rush, which harks back to an earlier, more peaceful, gentler age.

As well as being virtually silent doing it “by hand” is also entirely ecological and dare I say, keeps wardens fit (and young!) (I should say it’s almost silent... the wardens are very friendly so do actually stop and talk sometimes!)

Exmoor house is a now a firm favourite. I’ll leave it to you to work out why. Sshhhh... don’t tell everyone.

Charming site and location

We stayed for 6 nights at the end of August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site managers are very helpful and keep the site lovely and its a short walk from the pub, shops and tea rooms. So many lovely places nearby to visit - Exmoor, Lynton & Lynmouth and Minehead. We will definitely be returning soon.

First Class Site

Stayed here for 4 nights in the last week of August This site is located on the edge of Dulverton, gateway to Exmoor. It provides many amenities on the doorstep, in fact everything we needed for a great holiday. There are excellent eateries, butchers, bakers, all within walking distance, and many places of interest in the local area. Further afield the North Somerset /Devon coastlines are within easy reach, and offer some great days out. Within the site boundaries the views and tranquility make for a fantastic base. The wardens keep the site and facilities immaculate, and do so with a great attitude and friendly manner. One of the best sites we have visited
