Lovely Site

This was out third visit and it never disappoints. For anyone who hasn't been to this site before I would like to point out where we went wrong with the printed directions: In the book it says the following: 'still on the A396. In 2 miles at the Black Cat junction with sharp left bend do not turn left or right but keep right to crossroads next to disused filling pump. Cross the B3227 and continue straight on the A396' In the heat of the moment and taking directions from your navigator, if you get this wrong and towing then you can look forward to a very long detour before you can turn around! A strait forward explanation would be as follows: 'at the Black Cat junction with sharp left bend do not follow the road around to the left but go straight ahead (over) and follow signs for Dulverton' The roads are narrow when entering Dulverton so be prepared to give way to traffic and DO NOT try any other way into the town.

Peaceful

What a lovely site, credit to the site wardens Keith and Debbie. Well kept and very clean, lovely location five minutes walk to the lovely village of Dulverton. Independent shops, lovely eateries can recommend the Copper Kettle, great food and friendly staff, dog friendly. The whole village is a joy you feel welcomed and dog friendly places as well. Lovely Heritage Centre and Model train exhibition. Exmoor on your door step and a beautiful old church as well. If you want peace and quiet and a relaxing holiday with the convenience of a village on your door step this is the one. Highly recommend have already rebooked.

Great location. Popular and small so book ahead, also off season

At walking distance of the small town Dulverton. Very convenient with co-op, pubs, etc so nearby. We were lucky we had booked a pitch, it was full when we stayed there in June and we did not expect that (no weekend / good weather / event). Recommended.

Super spot

Compact but well laid out site. We pitched by the river which was nice but it did lose the sun in the late afternoon. Two toilet blocks which was a surprise as the site it not that big but both beautifully clean. Dog walk area is small but useful for early morning/last thing at night - its only bark chippings but was fine. One of the rare on site dog walks where everyone had picked up after their dog! Great walks from the site and lots of nice independent shops. The only grumpy shopkeeper was in the pet shop! Good food at the Bridge Inn - worth booking a table as it got busy even though it was a Tuesday evening and dogs allowed too. Friendly welcome from the wardens especially when he saw our T5 campervan.

A Great Stay

We booked this site for a weeks holiday last week. The convenient location right in the town was good as were the local shops, pubs and facilities. The dog walking from the site was great for the dog. We did not use the dog walking area on the sitewhich it looked very small. This was not however an issue for us. The actual club site was peaceful and very well kept by the wardens who were helpful and unobtrusive. All in all a great site that we will definitely come back to.

Lovely long weekend

First visit and won’t be our last. So peaceful with just the birds tweeting! Motorhome parked up for 5 nights, lovely walks from site as well as Dulverton village being on the doorstep. Very clean facilities with friendly low key wardens. I would possibly say dog walk is a bit useless- very small & no grass, but with a large green just outside the site it’s not an issue. We were lucky enough to get a good choice of pitches & loved the one we picked, some others may not have been as good for us, but that wouldn’t put us off another visit. As the site is so close to amenities it does have buildings around it’s perimeter but we didn’t find this an issue. One of our 2 dogs gave the paws up to his daily river swim next to the site!

A great weekend

What a lovely site and so convenient. As it is on the edge of the town you can easily get in and grab provisions, get a drink and enjoy a good meal. Plenty of choice here. We booked specifically so hat we could have a good day out walking with the dogs. Within ¼ mile they can be off the lead and enjoying everything there is. We went upstream to Hawkrifge, a really lovely walk, and then doubled back stopping off at Hiram Farm (a MUST !) for a huge, but delicious, cream tea. Just as well it was still 4 miles back as needed to walk some of that off. Sunday a quick walk downstream - will be back to explore more of that walk. The wardens were really helpful and never overbearing. The site was spotless and quiet - just the sound of the birds, the river and any wildlife that happened to be passing through. If you haven't been, it is worth it.

Great site and great location

We don't often use club sites (usually caravanning on CLs and at events) and this is the only one we have used twice. It won't be our last visit! The first time we thought it would be a good base to use and then drive to places to go for walks. The car never moved - there are so many possibilities for walks right from the site. The site is right in the centre of Dulverton (which has a very good Co-op that has extended opening hours) but is still very quiet - apart from the sound of the river and the abundant birds (the hedge behind our pitch was full of twittering).

Peaceful site.

The site is clean and well looked after with very friendly wardens. The dog walk is safe but small, but with all the wonderful walks on the doorstep, it’s dog heaven!! The town of Dulverton is within a 2 min walk, with its independent shops, pubs and cafes. A very relaxing and peaceful site.

Top site.

Excellent site, more for the older camper. Very clean facilities, very well maintained site and superb wardens (Debbie and Keith, who are lovely people and are always a pleasure to see there). Good location for walking, excellent pub (The Bridge Inn) just down the road and good Thai Restaurant and takeaway in the village. Superb local butchers and a small Coop store, grocers, bakers, hardware store and pharmacy etc are also all in the village. We’ve been here several times and it remains at the top of our favourite sites list. We love this site & will be back! (Just had our fifth visit there).
