We are a family of 2 adults and 1 12 year old boy. We were looking for a very quiet site close to shops and pubs and within walking distance. We were NOT disappointed at all. This site was perfect. As our son is 12 we were not looking for a child friendly place but the club wifi came in handy throughout the week. There were 2 toilet blocks so we hardly saw any one in them and the site was full. They were spotlessly clean and warm. The pitches were flat, clean and were a good size. The warm welcome we had from the wardens was lovely and we had a great time at the New Years Eve drinks chatting to others and listening to the choir. We enjoy walking and cycling. There was a good circular walk above the town that we enjoyed and also the walk at Tarr Steps was fab and the Cream tea at the pub was delicious. As we prefer to cycle on traffic free roads we drove to Exeter( 45 mins) and cycled the Exe trail to Dawlish Warren. We were lucky the weather was sunny and dry. We ate at the Bridge Inn which was very nice and the welcome was great. We also ate at the Wood Brasserie/pub. The food here was exceptional. We would recommend you book. There were beautiful open fires in both and we spent New Years Eve between them both. All locals were friendly and welcomed our son at all times. There was so much more we could have explored but we were so relaxed that's all we managed. We have already booked for next year over Christmas and New Year again and we can't wait to experience more places and catch up with the wardens and other guests!!!!
An absolute gem
This site is one of the jewels in the Caravan Club crown. It’s small, extremely well kept by the friendly wardens and with two shower blocks for only 60 or so pitches the facilities are excellent - and the shower blocks are properly warm! The situation is perfect. Set right by the river the only sound you can hear at night is the water and the owls. And yet a couple of minutes stroll and you are in the heart of the village which everything you need - some lovely shops, a supermarket that hardly ever seems to close and a fabulous pub by the bridge. There are loads of walks direct from the site through woods, over fields and along the river. Or a half hour drive will take you up onto the moor itself where the walking is endless with fantastic views. We spent New Year here and have already booked to see in 2021 here too! Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Another perfect stay
We spent New Year at this perfect site. The wardens are excellent and the site is situated close to all the lovely shops and pubs. We’ve stayed there many times and it never disappoints. Can’t wait to return.
Another Great Stay
Excellent wardens. Great location with easy access to the small town and all its facilities. Plenty of walking from the site. All in all, one of our top ten sites.
Excellent location, facilities and amenities.
This was our first time to the site and we were amazed how lovely the site was alongside the river Barle and yet virtually in the town of Dulverton. Dulverton provides many shops, cafes, tearooms and other facilities a very short walk from the site. There is also daily local bus service with stops very close to the site that can take you as far as Taunton in one direction or Minehead in the other. The range and scope of walks from the site is amazing, many of the alongside the river. The facilities at the site were excellent, very clean and warm.
First trip out
We booked this site as it close to home for our shakedown trip in our new motorhome. So everything was new to us. The welcome was great and friendly. Everything I needed to know was passed over to me with the offer of help if needed. The site was busy ish for midweek in November, the pitches good and the facilities excellent. The location superb close to pubs and shops and good walks close by. Despite the incessant rain we had a great time, learned a lot and will definitely be going back for a longer stay next year.
Ward Family October half term 2019
An excellent site with fantastic access to the town and surrounding area, which was very dog friendly. The wardens were excellent and very welcoming. We will definitely be returning again.
location, location, location
A great place for couples or adults, not a lot for kids or teenagers . The site is lovely and peceful and is just a 5 minute walk into Dulverton which is the most dog friendly place, all pubs, cafes and even the local Thai restaurant accept dogs. plenty of walking opportunities near by also.
the road to the site is Ok, even towing an 8 ft wide van but follow the recommended route from Tiverton as going through the village is too tight.
had just the best week here, rarely more relaxed.
simply stunning
again another great stay at exmoor house it is a firm favorite of ours ,sadly we had to leave early due to a work commitment but it was handled very well by the wardens ,all credit to them for making this site so pleasurable to stay on ,have already booked our next trip to Dulverton .
Simply Superb
Simply Superb site, great location for walking into town and the site is well laid out and really peaceful- the wardens are really friendly, it was our third visit and we will definitely return
The town is super for doggies, so many dog friendly shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs
