Good basic site

We have just stayed 10 nights on this site. It is our third visit as the site is situated in such a good position to visit so many places. The facilities are basic but clean which is the most important feature for me. The site was quite full especially at weekends but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. For the price it is a bargain and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Nice area shame about the A38 road noise

Lovely wardens who are chatty and hard working. The toilet block needs up dating completely and enlarging. The noise from the A38 road is constant from around 0700hrs till late evening. The Caravan Club is getting greedy, the pitches are jammed in on a lot of sites, Exeter racecourse included. We were on pitch No 64, when the couple on pitch No 63 left it gave the whole area a different aspect. The area seemed to be opened up more. Why does the club site pitches opposite each other. The pitches should all be staggered to give people more privacy. I feel the Club is in need of a rethink on laying out site plans. I know the stock answer it " meets the fire regulations" but sometimes people want privacy with planting or screening, and not to feel as if you are pitched on a car park with a toilet block. But I will say Buckfast Abbey is a must to visit.

Excellent Break

Wonderful place for a break or longer, it was peaceful, the facilities were scrupulously clean, and the staff who manage the site couldn't have been nicer, I would thoroughly recommend using this site.

good site

the site is clean and tidy, the wardens are great and maintain the site very well. our only criticism is the showers, not very good pressure to have a good shower, and the hand dryers also lacked power. great place to base yourselves. good value tho.

Nice site

This is a very nice site and close to Torquay, Paignton and Dawlish. We have used this site for many years and it is a pity that the shower block has never been updated.  The water pressure is very slow and the shower heads do not come off the wall. This is my only criticism of this very nice site.

Value for money

Stayed at this site for 2weeks.ideal position for visits to coast or inland.plenty of national trust sites to explore.easy access to site. Toilet/showers are dated but spotless. We'll run by wardens.even with the racecourse being used for park&ride for the bbc  big event festival the site was peaceful and quiet at all times.

Lovely site

Lovely site with lovely wardens. Great for dog walks and plenty of space for kids to play.  Only negative was the showers. They were spotlessly clean but had to run around to get wet (poor flow) and the water was cold with the occasional warm bit.

Handy Location

Used this site to help family members to move house, but what a charming little site! Quite small but with a big open feel. Surrounded by heathland and forest walks, atop a hill so you could see for miles. Eateries within walking distance, just under the underpass on the A38 and in the forest park. Facilities fairly basic but absolutely spotless. Wardens very friendly and cheerful, if a bit enthusiastic on eradicating snails from the freshly planted flower beds - it worked though!! The only fault was the proximity of the A38 (which in Devon almost counts as a motorway). Depending on the direction of the wind you could definitely hear the traffic. But all in all a lovely site whether you are visiting the area, which is beautiful, being right on the edge of Dartmoor and only a couple of miles to the coast, or a stop off on the way to Cornwall. We will definitely visit again, we have family in Exeter now and a lovely site to stay on!

Very good site

A nice spot on top of Haldon hill, especially if you like horse racing. A very well run site with  extremely friendly wardens. Facilities all good, clean and well looked after. Nice walk all around the racecourse on a Tarmac path. Bus stop outside on main road, if you need Exeter you have to go to chudleigh and change to go back.  You can walk to Haldon forest, nice walks there and a diner and shop are easily accessible from the site going under the main road. Half price entry to racecourse for campsite guests.
