Nicely situated on the outskirts of the city

Used this site as a stopover whilst travelling from Inverness back to East Yorkshire. Booked online the day before to split the journey and paid on arrival, which was very easy to do. The reception staff were very helpful explaining the bus services and stops and recommending somewhere to eat that allowed dogs. Usual caravan club high standards of toilets and showers and nice big pitches. Will definitely return for a longer stay and sample the delights of Edinburgh.

Great site

Spent 2 nights at the club site, great walks, peaceful facilities clean and well maintained. The taxi from the site to Edinburgh city well worth the £6 return, makes the site a bit special, no worries about walking to bus stop in the dark. Back in the summer .

Treated like a five year old

Pleasant site, very handy for Edinburgh city center. I was leaving my motorhome there while I stayed with relatives and had obviously not read the booking small print for the Caravan Club. I did not realise that I should have phoned the warden to discuss leaving the motorhome unoccupied while it was on site. My mistake but I really did not appreciate being talked to like a five year old. I had to bite my tongue and not react as I normally would as I needed somewhere safe to park for a few nights. It was explained that I could potentially be stopping someone having a holiday if the site was full even although I was actually on holiday and paying for camping with one adult even although the motorhome would be empty. I fully accept the problem was caused by me but I will not be returning as I don't appreciate being treated like a child. I'll find somewhere else to park the next time I visit Edinburgh.

Good Location for Edinburgh City Break

Spent 4 nights at this club site for first visit to Edinburgh over Hogmanay. Nice site with usual standard of cleanliness and general upkeep. Nicely situated for trips into the city centre. We used the bus all the time, which is a 10 minute walk from site, frequent, reliable and good value. There is noise from planes coming in and out of Edinburgh airport, but this is a city site so we had not come for peace and quiet. Edinburgh is a great city with lots to see and do for all ages. Highly recommended at this time of the year, but would probably make a good break at any time of the year.

Fabulous

We have visited this site many many times. It doesn't matter what time of year it is the welcome is always warm, the site is very well maintained and facilities clean and well maintained. The taxi service from the site to Edinburgh is very useful especially if you can't walk to the buses. Yes there is noise from aircraft but its on the airport approach and this is mentioned in the description. The planes don't bother us and we tend not to notice.

Edinburgh Xmas Markets

We stayed on this site for easy access to the xmas market and we were not disappointed. Great taxi service into town- £3 each single great value. The site was clean well maintained lots of hot water in the toilets the wardens were polite and very knowledgable nothing to much trouble,my only quibble was the people who didn't advise the wardens what pitch the had taken,we arrived in the dark looking for the marked vacant pitches and out of 6 only 3 were available. So please get your pitch then advise the wardens and make life a bit easier for others

One night stand

Just an overnight stop while visiting the area. Site was surprisingly busy for the time of year. The staff were very helpful and advised about where to eat in the area. The 20 min walk along the road to the nearest Toby Carvery was very dark so we opted to drive. The village with more facilities is not much further. Excellent site facilities and location just north of the city with good transport links. Will be back for a proper stop and visit.

another good visit

spent another 4 days here mini bus service always excellent and friendly, one of the reasons we keep coming back,a real help if you have a disability as the walk to the bus stop is not the best.long may this service continue .a lot cheaper than paying to park in Edinburgh.
