Had a great stay here. The wardens were helpful and I was able to secure our bikes in the lockers which was an added bonus. Site clean and system to cope with pandemic worked well
Stayed here in September, site was immaculate, staff very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The gentlemen looking after the grounds did a fantastic job, very polite, came over to say he would be making some noise for 5 mins to cut the hedge, thoughtful we thought. We have a dog and I was disappointed there wasn’t any grass on our fully serviced pitch to peg her out, pitches not overly generous. Having said that, we were only there for 2 nights to spend a day in Edinburgh so wasn’t a huge issue. Some noise from Campus next door, (sports) but again not really an issue. Sadly, someone left their poor dogs in their Motorhome and they constantly barked, I wouldn’t and indeed didn’t complain but I know others on the site did. Would definitely recommend if visiting Edinburgh. Staff are excellent!
We have just spent a few days on this lovely campsite. The staff are very friendly and they keep the site looking lovely. The facilities are spotless and are cleaned twice a day. The grounds are lovely and we saw some squirrels running about. It is about a 5 minute walk down to the promenade which is a lovely walk along.
Site was excellent and facilities very good but I have one criticism; not of the site but the users!!!
If a system to combat COVID-19 is being used for using the facilities would people please abide by it to ensure we are all kept safe. 2 red bands in the pot means 2 people can use any of the facilities and 3 blue means 3 people can only use toilets and basins. Therefore why when I entered using a blue band did I notice all showers were in use - clearly these suggested rules don't apply to some!!!!! Oh and when queuing please keep your distance!
On a good note please make use of the excellent minibus into the city - at £6 return you can't beat it and what a friendly knowledgeable driver!
Stopped over for two nights on our way up higher in Scotland and to allow for a trip to the Royal yacht Britannia. Nice quiet site with friendly staff, and well organised re Covid safety.
Lovely walk along the promenade to the visit the Royal yacht.
I want to thank the managers of the site at Edinburgh.
While staying recently my partner became seriously ill resulting in an operation... Muriel the manager of site plus the rest of the site staff could not have been more helpful and kind and managed to allow us to stay longer then we were meant to.
I would also recommend this site as very convenient for going into Edinburgh centre ... it’s nicely placed for walks, shops, generally a very nice place to stay.
Many thanks again for all your help at a very difficult time.
We found this to be the perfect site. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is is perfectly located for trips to Edinburgh and close to a riverside walk. There is occasional aeroplane noise but nothing too intrusive. We had some fun looking on the “Flightaware” app to see where they were going to/ coming from.
Definitely will return.
We enjoyed staying at this site in 2019 and so came back in 2020 - our first stay since sites opened up. The staff were friendly and very pleasant. Safety measures very clearly in place but without an officious tone. All facilities were clean and we didn't have to queue to use them. Used the cycle lockers and it was very easy to cycle from Cramond to Leith along the coast. The bus day ticket for £4.50 is very useful - the bus stop is a ten minute walk from the site and the buses are very regular. Not many places to eat nearby but glad that we went to Jacob's Place, a small bistro, with freshly cooked food about twenty five minutes walk. This is a very good location for the city, do not be put off by the surroundings.
The grounds of the site are extremely well maintained by the hardworking wardens who are very friendly. The site facilities are awful. Clean but old, tired, minimal and not suitable for people taller than 5ft 3 - I’m 5ft 10 and the shower head came to below my shoulder. The club needs to spend some money updating it. The drive to the site isn’t tough however the road surface is awful pretty much everywhere in Edinburgh! Area around the site is run down and there’s not a great deal to do close by but attractions are not too much of a drive away and there is a minibus that comes to site if you desire.
