Great wardens lovely clean site unfortunately outside very noisy and felt unsafe followed by group of men apparently the 2 property opposite are housing homeless people digagarded beer cans drug all over walk to beach
Great site and staff
We only stayed one night but the site is immaculate and beautifully kept. Also, there is local transport ready to whisk you into Edinburgh city (and back) directly from the site and runs every hour!
We really enjoyed our brief stay and would recommend it.
Recent stay
Lovely stay in the Edinburgh Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, close to Leith/Crammond, last weekend.
Very friendly staff, extremely clean and tidy site with excellent shower/toilet facilities, with all COVID precautions in place.
10 minute walk to the beach/esplanade with Boardwalk Cafe and loads of benches, green space, view of the bridges and walks for dogs.
Local bus service into Leith every 15 minutes, to sample the many restaurants and pubs.
Also, a mini bus runs on a regular every day, from the site into the West End of Edinburgh, £6 return, which is great value (Graham and his drivers do a great job👍).
Our first stay here, but won’t be our last.
Great site, easy access to Edinburgh
A superb site with spacious pitches. Well kept green spaces and the facilities are clean and tidy. Good access by bus into the city. Marine Drive is a disgrace. It's full of litter and is clearly abused by anti social types. Signs of deliberate fire setting, alcohol bottles everywhere, and noisy off road motorbikes each evening. The CAMHC urgently need to put pressure on Edinburgh City Council to try and resolve these issues.
Perfect for seeing the cuty
We’ve just comeback from a four night stay in this site and from here we could walk, cycle and take the minibus into the city.
The minibus is an excellent service and the driver, Graham, is so good at his job. As well as ferrying everyone safely about, he also slows down to point out interesting places and has a wealth of stories to tell too.
We could walk along the coast most of the way to the botanical gardens ( there is a local bus too) and it’s worth a walk to Cramond island when the tide is out. We cycled easily to leith on the coastal path too. Yes, there is traffic noise but I didn’t notice it through the night at all. We were parked backing into the road but if you park in the centre of the site this should make quite a difference. Staff were friendly and helpful and the site was very well kept
Will definitely go back because there’s more to see.
It’s worth noting that the mini bus service is cash only. We didn’t have cash in us but graham very kindly took us into town anyway and said to just pay him on the way back

Awful location
We stayed for one night and that was too much
The site Itself was clean and fit for purpose. However the location is very unsafe. There is a B&B on the same road with questionable residents. The quaint walk to the beach down the steps is strewn with beer cans, rubbish so we took the road walk back only to find more alcohol bottles and cans, burnt bag of clothes, bedding strewn in the road and hedges.
When we passed the delightful B&B we were stared down by two delightful young men!
We we got back to the site; we had 2hrs of scramble bikes reviving up and down the recreational land which lies directly behind the site. And then we had the drunks fighting on the street at 02:00 for an hour. The site may be of good standard but the dreadful location let’s it down, both on holiday destination and personal safety.
An excellent site for visiting the city
If you want a site that is well run and close to the city centre then this is ideal. Its extremely well run with lovely, helpful staff. Best of all, there is a privately run minibus shuttle service that takes you to and from the city centre and Royal yacht for just £6 per person return. Really glad we stayed here!
Great location
A lovely spacious site which had a rural feel compared to some other city sites I have stayed on. Lovely walks / cycle routes from the site along a promenade. Cycle lockers are an extra bonus - something I think other sites would benefit from. Also lots of service points around the site too. The minibus from the site car park took us into Edinburgh and to the Royal Yacht if you don’t want to walk 10 minutes to a bus stop. The site staff were very friendly and helpful. Certainly a site I would like to return to.

Noise , noise , noise
Overall this is a very good site having been here a few times but now the main wardens have left , there just seems to be no one in charge regarding the grounds maintenance, i have just spent a week here and they were cutting hedges every day! If it wasn’t hedges it was grass and then leaf blowers from 9 am to 5/6 pm everyday and rather than finish one area , they are jumping all all over the site doing things , and now also no dog walk , like a ship with no rudder just going round in circles
What on earth happened to the good dog-walk?
We visited the site on the first day after Covid restrictions were lifted - 26th April - for 4 nights with our motorhome and two dogs. Edinburgh is (was) one of our favourite sites because of location, facilities, types of pitches etc and we were not disappointed except for one thing..... the new dog walking area. It really is not fit for purpose being no more than a small partly fenced area with trees and thick bark chippings, - no grass or pathways at all, and can’t let dogs of the lead. Not useful to us in any way. Bring back the old Woodland Dog Walk PLEASE.
Otherwise, the site is very good indeed and staff are first class.
