Great site for visiting the city. Would thoroughly recommend the "Bus" service from the site, which is a minibus service with a great driver that's full of character. He comes to pick you up from the city at an agreed time. He didn't even charge us for all of the children. On Google maps it said it would take 40 minutes to reach the city centre, he did it in 20! The pitches are very hard - I always manage with a mallet but had to accept help from a neighbour who lent me his lump hammer. Beware that SatNav on leaving, will try and take you on unsuitable roads in the wrong directions; luckily a friendly Scotsman had warned us - really the site wardens should do this on arrival. A great base for exploring this beautiful city.
Superb site and very helpful wardens
First time staying at this site and we weren't disappointed. The site is immaculate and the facilities are amazing, plus the added bonus of a minibus running from the site into the centre of Edinburgh.
Would really recommend the site!

Exceptional Site
Can’t fault the amenities and staff. Site is spotless with everything to hand and spacious level pitches.
Easy access to City via Lothian bus (15 minutes walk and you need to download two apps) or a taxi-bus for the less adventurous direct from reception which was brilliant.
No really local amenities so recommend stocking up on the way in.
Recommend a trip down to the promenade at Cramond (turn left outside the site - half a mile) - smashing beach, an island you can walk to at low tide, and a super quirky beachcomber cafe not to be missed.
Site great, but…
We have used this club site for years to visit Edinburgh where we lived and worked before retirement. The site itself is immaculate, very well kept. Unfortunately, the surrounding area has become a bit of a nightmare. Day and night the road outside is a race track for cars and bikes. As a single woman, I felt very vulnerable walking to the prom and beach as there were drunks and groups of people fighting. There is access down steps opposite the site to the prom but they are long and very steep. Also it was clear that homeless people were sleeping in the woods opposite as there tents and bags of possessions were lying around. The prom and walks/cycle tracks are lovely, but I would suggest if you want to walk your dog there to drive down. Also the street outside has no lights at night. The walk to the town buses is about half a mile. The fantastic dog walk on the site, known as “spoof wood” has been closed. This is so disappointing as it was a special place to walk the dog. Avery small enclosure under trees with brambles growing through underfoot has replaced it where you must keep dog on lead. In summary, the site itself is super, dog walk is poor and surrounding area is seedy.
Lovely setting close to Edinburgh - but noisy
The staff are excellent, the location is very good and close enough to walk to the city centre in 90 minutes although there is a regular mini bus service and plenty of local buses within walking distance.
Our major bugbear was the locals using the land behind the site for their off road trials motor bikes. Usually starting around 4.30pm and going on for a couple of hours at least.
If you have no issues with noise it’s a a perfect location.
Lovely costal site with excellent a minibus option to get into Edinburgh
Lovely site, with a beautiful costal location - not what we expected for Edinburgh! The mini bus into Edinburgh with fun and knowledgable drivers was an asset. (Could this be organised for other sites?!) Peaceful and spacious site.

Great site but.....
We have been to this site many years ago, the staff are very nice and they do a great job of keeping it all running.
Many reviews say a lot about people walking the road around the site, this is true, you can often hear people outside the site all hours and boy racers up and down the outside road, this is not the sites fault and the site is very very secure with CCTV.
The site is great for if you are visiting Edinburgh. Only one thing I would like to see change due to the recent Covid19 secure procedures this site has put in place and that is they open up at least 1 male urinal in the toilet to eliminate the problem of walking in to a cubicle to find urine all over the seats and floor, we gave been to sites with less urinals than this site and they at least have one open!
Great visit
We stayed at Edinburgh last weekend (17-21 June) and enjoyed yet another great stay on one of our favourite sites. Staff very friendly and efficient as usual and COVID procedures well signed and worked well. The weather was glorious for the majority of our stay which was an added bonus.
Our pitch was mid site so no noticeable traffic or pedestrian noise. Due to road closures, the road adjacent to the site is now the only access vehicular route to a very popular beach area which has increased traffic but no issues for us.
We certainly never saw any signs of excessive litter/alcohol tins etc mentioned by other reviewers from our daily walks along the beach- in fact we mentioned how well the area was kept given how busy the area was in the sunny weather.
Absolutely no concerns regarding our personal safety when walking in the local area including late evening walks from bus stop- something I’m very aware of as a former Police Officer.
Looking forward to our next visit in August.
Peaceful beach location
Spent a few days at this site and wasn’t disappointed.
Very quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. Showers and toilets very clean and Covid friendly. Best thing was a campsite minibus and driver named Graham who took guests from the site to Edinburgh town centre for £6 each return (CASH ONLY) he even allows dogs on board.
Overall a very enjoyable break away.
We did experience a little noise from the main road in the early hours of Saturday morning from a group of teenagers probably been on the beach as they walked from that direction but It didn’t spoil our time away.
