We had stayed here several years ago with a caravan and knew it to be a good base for visiting Inverness (botanical gardens not to be missed), This time we were in a motorhome so had investigated places we could walk to over our three day visit.
Culloden battlefield is about a 20 minute walk along the road, (busy but with good pavement) from the site. The exhibition centre is well worth a visit before a stroll round the barren battlefield itself as it sets the scene well. Tired and hungry jacobites beaten by well fed and rested Hanoverians.
If you don’t mind a walk down the nearby steep hill, a trip to the Clava cairns in the Nairn valley is also worth a visit. These ancient stone burial mounds have an interesting tale to tell. There is parking at both battlefield and cairns if you choose to drive.
We had some Interesting neighbours whilst on site. Two oyster catchers had chosen to nest in the middle of one of the pitches. The wardens had thoughtfully roped them off, coned neighbouring pitches, and asked that humans didn’t get too close until the eggs had hatched and the chicks fledged
Disappointed
We were informed, in advance of our stay, that the showers and toilet facilities were fully closed. This was disappointing as we had booked 2 nights. It must have been difficult for the staff to inform everybody who had bookings. I appreciate that there were problems beyond the C&MC control but we were 500 miles from home and this was the 3rd time we had encountered 'no facilities' on our trip to Scotland. We decided to stay only one night and it was a sad end to our well-earned break.
Not sure when the facilities will be fully opened but I suggest you check first.
Sorry for this review as I'm sure it will be better in the future.

If you have read negative reviews about the condition of this site in the past, I can now confirm that the current site team are well underway in bringing the pitches and grounds back to what we have seen in previous years. Please allow them a little bit of time to continue this improvement as the season progresses..a lot of hard work has been taking place and it is starting to show..well done all...👍🏻👍🏻😊😊

Fabulous site
Fabulous site. Stayed three nights late April. Although the facilities were closed due to maintenance it didn't reflect on the fantastic welcome and beautiful surroundings.
New wardens were attentive and very helpful. Best dog walk ever from a site.
Going back late May.
O dear!!
We’ve been here many times over the years and it has always been immaculate, but not anymore ,we all have to live with the virus ,and others are managing fine, so that’s not the reason, there’s a lack of maintenance everywhere , and the tape that used to be red and white,is untidy, will need to look elsewhere for a site ,
Not up to club standards
Have been coming to this site for many years and love the area but will not be visiting this club site again unless we here it is back to what it used to be. It looks very unkept and neglected, trying to ignore the large amount of tape used for social distancing it looks like the growth of weeds were being used for the same. With empty unpainted flower boxes and fencing it did look depressing. The toilets were not very clean either at the beginning of the week. We have visited other sites since covid and they seem to have maintained their standards. Other good sites are not far away.
Very disappointing.
7 night stay
Spent 7 nights here. Site could do with some TLC - shrubs are a bit overgrown, entrance barrier awaiting repair, playpark awaiting repair.
Also a lot of now faded red and white tape around the site, which looks awful.
We were dissapointed that the playpark was closed, as our daughter would have loved it.
That said the site is well placed for Inverness and surrounding areas, lots of nice walks and on a bus route. Toilet block spotless and plenty of hot water in the showers. Wardens pleasant and helpful.
TV signal and mobile phone signal good.
We enjoyed our stay, would come back again.
Glood tv and dog walking
Pleasant welcome by managers who had only recently arrived at the site. We had a good hard standing pitch and the motorhome service facilities were well laid out. A wristband system was in operation for showers and toilets but this only worked when people used it properly and took their own bands back.
Good dog walk on site - pub just over a mile away where we had a reasonable meal. Good access to Inverness and the Battlefield. If you go to Inverness try the community cafe and buy a meal forward if you can.
A great place to chill out!
As ever a great place to chill out, the dogs love the forest walks and the local beach at Nairn where one of them learned to swim 5 yrs ago!!
Yes there are a couple of tight corners, which with some minor road layout changes could be over come. After all, the caravans are getting bigger both in length and width!
