Ok

Having come up from the Berwick site we were disappointed by a few things on the site which lets it down. Firstly given this is now the caravan and motor home club the siting of the waste disposal is very poor. A bollard had been taken out by someone trying to find the drains. This needs to be relocated possibly by the showers. Secondly this is made worse by the closure of roads enforcing outfits to go the whole way round the site every time. So if a motor home is manoeuvring at the waste it will block the whole road. The silly one way system means every one drives past all the time and some corners are very sharp. It would be a simple thing to open up one bit to cut the traffic driving past. Thirdly as already pointed out no WiFi. Paid for a years use.... The pitches do slope quite a lot and maybe these could be levelled? Finally remember your spare aerial as tv poor. Having highlighted these things I would like to praise the wardens who are friendly and really have there work cut out to keep the site tidy. The rain and warmth must really be a challenge especially with the grass areas. There is a very large toilet block they keep really clean.

Nice site

We stay here regularly on our way south from Orkney. Very handy for dogs as loads of walks in the forest. Watch out for ticks though. Pitches are very sloping and it's difficult to get level on some of them. Facilities are good and kept spotless. Friendly helpful wardens.

Nice enough site but .......

Came up from Bunree for a week at this site. Nice and quiet but none of the pitches are level so levelling blocks required. Not much room around the site for big vans and cars. Shocking weather all the time we were there, had torrential rain, hailstones and on our last morning the car was frozen up! We visited Inverness, Drumnadrochit, Nairn, Lossiemouth and Aviemore. After the area around Bunree the scenery was a lot less dramatic, except for Aviemore, and was a bit disappointing. The major downside of this site is the lack of WiFi. When we pay for a years WiFi it should be available at all sites. Come on CMC it’s not rocket science.

Small pitches

This is a lovely placed site and the Caravan & Motorhome Club should invest some money in it. It needs larger and level pitches, some service pitches, WIFI and a road around the site that is big enough for todays caravans. All credit to the Wardens who were pleasant, helpful and kept the site lovely. Great location for Inverness and the surrounding area, plenty to see and do.

In need of some TLC

Stayed for 6 nights, starting the May Bank Holiday weekend. Found the wardens and reception very welcoming and friendly. The showers, whilst dated, are kept very clean and tidy. However, I have to say that I found the site in general rather in need of some TLC. The pitches in particular are in dire need of some weedkiller on the gravel, and the edges of them need trimming and tidying. There is a distinct lack of colour both in the pots around the Reception area and the site in general. I appreciate that this is Scotland and the climate is rather unforgiving but we started our journey by staying over at the Edinburgh site which is a riot of colour. A lot could be learned from how they manage their pitches and shrubbery. It really is a credit to the wardens. The location of the site at Culloden is handy for visiting the breath taking scenery of the local area, together with the many Scottish National Trust properties which are well worth a visit.

Easter 2019

This is an excellent site, which is well maintained and was very quiet over the Easter period. We stayed here for 9 nights and had a great time. The wardens were excellent and only too happy to provide local advice. The layout of the site means that it can be quite tight for vehicles towing a caravan, although this is not a major problem. The shower blocks and are clean and the pitches at the top of the site look onto open fields. We had the joy of watching the newly born lambs jumping around and exploring the field. Whilst this site doesn't have internet, the best advice is to bing a wifi device. Vodafone and 02 worked really well. Three was a little tricky but worked in higher locations around the pitch. I would stay here again, lots to see and do in the area. The Culloden Tavern is a mile away and serves good food. A bus service stops outside the site and will take you to the Battlefields or Inverness.

No Internet! - Expensive! - Terrible Layout!

Prices are high despite no internet. Really crazy layout - a FULL circumnavigation of site (passing lots of hand painted white bollards & chains that CAMC just love and quite silly) required to exit and everyone passes the Kids Play Area - bad planning, but worse to come! WHO on earth decided to site the motorhome service point where it is? Very careful reversing required with (again) lots of CAMC created bollards/traps to try to catch you pout - some poor kid could easily get squashed here - NEEDS ATTENTION. Culloden Battlefield is terrific and worth a visit. Culloden Caravan Club Site is more like a minefield!

Great location

But pity about the busy road next to the site, The site itself is in a brilliant area with good spacious pitches, i just found that the one we were on i struggled to level up fully, even my jumbo ramps couldn't get me fully level, but apart from this its a lovely clean site with very nice wardens, i would go back without a 2nd thought.

Quiet site

Enjoyable stay At Culloden, the site is a few miles outside Inverness, based in a quiet area, however, there is a busy road that runs next to the site. Small play area and wide open space good for children.
