We stayed on the site for 4 nights and found it to be very well run and very clean and tidy. Not sure we liked being so near to trees especially when it rained and the ground around us did not dry out as the sun did not get to it. The points that other campers refer to did not bother us but yes, having to walk a lot further on for the toilets from the shower block was a nuisance but we knew this from the campsite details page. Having the train station and pub so close was certainly a bonus. Enjoyed our stay.
Lovely site
We recently spent four nights here. Delightful. Why? Very welcoming and helpful wardens. Superb location in a series of 'sites' within the site therefore increasing tranquility. A wide range of wild flowers and insects. Ideally placed for train to Dorchester and Weymouth. Good selection of walks and cycle rides in quiet lanes. Local pub offers a good range of food with discount for CC members. An excellent coffee shop in Moreton which was the home of TE Lawrence.
Only downside - separate shower and toilet blocks but we knew this in advance so not a problem.
Will certainly return!
In A Forest!
Spent a few days at this site recently, not really our cup of tea as its a forest type site and it all gets walked into the caravan. Not keen on the Cluvus dry toilet and the fact that the shower block was separate. The pitches were either alongside the local railways line (train every half hour for 12hrs) or alongside a very busy road, so not the quietest of sites. Will not visit again, but I'm sure it would be ideal for some people.
August break
Just returned from 8 night stay at Crossways. A lovely site but not sure if we would go back. Staff are excellent and maintain the site to an excellent level. The toilets are not a problem, except when windy! Smell a bit then. Site has a dog walk but dog must be on lead, which is a problem for us as our dog will not do her business when on a lead!! We had to take a 10 walk down the very busy road to playing field. Its the only site were my 9 year old has not found someone to play with. This may be down to the lay out of site. People tend not to talk to each other. Shame.

beautiful forest site
Crossways is set in beautiful forest land with many different wildlife including almost tame deer. The Wardens as usual do a fantastic job and one of them (sorry forget his name ) makes fantastic wooden models out of local dead wood such as a steam engine and trucks. My only gripe is a severe lack of dedicated toilet/shower blocks the shower block that are there are dowdy and need updating better still install toilet /showers the toilets are not the usual flush type therese are combustible just dont look down the hole LOL !

Location,Location,Location
Having just returned from our very first few days away in our newly acquired motorhome, and thanks to such a wonderful site, we enjoyed every moment of our time away. The warden Martin was so helpful and welcoming on arrival and helped us decide on a pitch that would be right for us. The site itself is perfectly positioned within a very short walk of a pub, in case you don't feel like cooking!! Also, the little train station of Moreton is on the doorstep, with very frequent trains to Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole and Bournmouth. The Co-op, which is very well stocked, is only about 1/2 mile walk away, along a safe pavement. The site is set in some beautiful woodland, with Deer and Woodpeckers for you to see. Altogether a very quiet, tranquil, very clean and well kept site, with cheerful and hard working wardens. We would not hesitate in recommending Crossways and will certainly plan to return. Thank you Martin and Fiona.
Superb quiet site
Perfect site for those wanting a quiet time. The total lack of wifi or mobile telephone reception means that youngsters don't like it: no social media!
Really friendly and helpful staff. The dry peat toilets are nicer to use than conventional loos: easily the sweetest smelling we have ever experienced.
The pub next door ( Frampton arms) is hopeless: poor food and service. But there are many excellent places within 20 minutes: The Blue Vinny, Clavells, The countryman. Best beach is Worbarrow. Many excellent walks within 20 minutes of the site. The coast views are the best.

Fantastic couple of days away from it all.
We found it very convenient with the railway station to Dorchester, etc nearby and likewise the pub which served fantastic food.

Crossways a delightfull site.
Anne Maria & Perry always very helpful, nice clean site with lovely finishing touches with flowers, plants, picnic area. Ideal location to use Bus or Train into Dorchester, would highly recommend for a relaxing break.
Great location
Lovely peaceful site in great setting but with one major advantage for motorhomes - the railway station lies immediately adjacent and trains run every hour giving speedy access to Weymouth, Poole, Wareham, Bournemouth. No hassle parking at busy seaside resortsĀ
