Great location

Really friendly, helpful cheerful site wardens. Well kept site. Really peaceful ( occasional train horn heard). Walking distance to local co op. Walking distance to a pub..serves meals up to 21.00hrs. And within walking distance to train station. Train to Weymouth takes about 20 minutes. Regular service Read site description. Don't be put off by the Toilets. Whilst the water in showers is hot. I found the pressure low. But that's about the only negative. We plan on going back again. So that should be enough in itself as a review

Worst CC site I have visited by far.

The site is in a good location for visiting Weymouth and surrounding areas. The wardens also do try to make the best of the site with herb pots and a picnic area near reception. That’s about the all the good things I can say about it. The facilities are tired and worn. The showers are a trickle and lukewarm. The composting toilets are horrific, they’re a largish hole with a long drop into a pit. Whatever you do don’t look down, vile. On a final note every single bin in the heath area was full to the brim. The worst caravan club site I’ve visited, ever.

The best site I have been to

Firstly, the wardens are extremely friendly and helpful. Everything is clean, neat and tidy. The site has separate areas surrounded by trees and bushes so that even if it is fairly busy, it is as if you are in the middle of a forest. The facilities are excellent - drinking and waste water, with drains plus chemical disposal points and bins can be found throughout the site. It is an easy walk to the pub, train station and shop. Will definitely be back despite staying for 9 nights this time!

Lovely site with good transport connections for Weymouth,Poole etc

Very well kept site with excellent and helpful wardens. Pitches are mainly grass and a lot are quite near or under trees. No problem in hot weather but in rain that could be a downside. Noise from the railway is not intrusive although some pitches are quite close to the line. Plenty of shower blocks but only one main toilet block which depending on where you pitch might be a negative. The deer on site are delightful but not to be approached as we saw an animal starting to threaten a couple who got too close. Very convenient that the train station was almost outside with lots to do in the area. A site to return to.

Don't Tell Anyone!

We have stayed at many Club Sites and this is simply the best. Made by wonderful wardens, beautiful location and fantastic Pub next door. Loved it soooo much, booked to come back in a few weeks time. This is a beautiful site, not what we call a Car Park site, all pitches are in small groves, with Bee hotels, wooden trains and benches dotted around the site. Walking up to the shower block each morning and seeing wild deer was magical. The toilets, nothing to fear just adds to the natural surroundings you are in. There is train noise, which is mostly the barriers going up and down. Trains are brilliant, Weymouth in 19 mins and all the way to London the other direction, so you would never need to use your car. The Frampton Arms has been recently refurbished and you are guaranteed a very warm welcome and a doggy welcome with a jar of dog biscuits on the bar for them. Be sure to book, just won the best carvery in Dorset.

So good we've booked to stay again!

Our first visit to this lovely campsite didn't disappoint. The friendly welcome, the beauty of the site, the local wildlife, the cleanliness of the facilities, the proximity to a good pub and the railway being on the doorstep made it one of the best we've stayed at. As we only had a few nights here, we've decided to visit again in a couple of months and have booked up already. It's a great location to visit many places of interest and with the added benefit of the trainline which makes access to places like Weymouth and Dorchester among others really simple and reasonably priced. The facilities are spotless and although the shower and toilet facilities are separate, we didn't find it a problem. We were visited by the resident deer on 3 occasions and on one of them, mum and baby came along. We were warned not to feed or approach them as they were with young but they were quite happy to wander around our pitch in search of food. At this time of year, we had the benefit of seeing all of the rhododendrons in bloom around the site.

one of the best

This site is one of the best we have ever stayed on the facilities were spotless the staff excellent and the setting stunning. There is a pub nearby that serves a great carvery every day. The position is perfect for exploring the best parts of Dorset. We visited to find the deer had fawns. One regularly left her baby in the undergrowth only a yard or so from our van, amazing ! Other wildlife was all around in the beautifull woodland setting. The only downside were the ignorant dog owners who refused to keep their 'little babies' on leads. Several times we saw the deer worried by loose dogs.and chasing squirells DISPICABLE. There were several children on site and the majority were very well behaved and enjoying the enviroment but there were a couple of under 7's left to run around frightening the wildlife standing in the road stopping traffic and throwing stones at vans. With no sign of any parents they were still running around at 8pm. We have had young children and dogs so not anti either but we did keep them under control when camping. Come on people have a bit of respect for your fellow campers and enviroment.

DOGS AND SPEEDING

As usual lovely week end the only thing to spoil it time and time again the amount of car drivers and visitors to pitches that are doing more then the 5mph limit there are children and deer some with babys around the site children playing in the woodland then running onto the roads the wardens do all they can to stop this yet drivers continue to do it so if you do visit the site please stick to the 5MPH also dog owners the rule is dogs on leads yet the few of the dog owners let them run around of the leads yet again the deer have little ones if your dog is not on the leads and they are attacked it will be your own fault its no use saying my dog woun't go far its a good dog .abide by the rules don't spoil it for every one the other weekend lovely weather for BBQ yes allowed gas/electric/charcoal wonderfull for wood land site if kept under control one caravaner had one of these fire pits blasting away not far from other peoples van please think of other people and there vans and i dont think fire pits are alowed any way, The site is a wonderfull stie for all ages children enjoying themselves in the woodland playing making friends peace and quite for all ages so please abide by the rules laid down by the club for every one. i no some will come back about the dog rule we love dogs but like others we do get annoyed that the minority abuse the rules

Woodland setting

This campsite has a great setting with separate areas in the woodland which sets itself apart from many other sites. The composting toilets are unusual but much better than I expected and not as rustic as I've seen on smaller sites. The shower and toilet blocks are a bit dated although both kept spotlessly clean by the wardens and no shortage of hot water or any queues that we experienced. The train line can be a bit annoying mainly from the sounding of the horns rather than passing noise, but it's not that busy a line. Location also convenient for local shops and pubs. Wardens very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.
