Lovely peaceful site

I stayed here for a week in June and I've got to say this is one of the best sites I have stayed at. Very friendly and spotlessly clean and tidy. Nice and close to coniston lake and some beautiful walks. I can also recommend the fish and chips from the van that comes to the site once a week!

Cumbria at its best

We recently stayed at Coniston Park Coppice for four nights, the first time we had stayed in Cumbria. We were not disappointed.  A huge site, but this was hardly noticeable in its National Trust, landscaped, woodland setting. Pitches were generally well located and spaced, the facilities were good and the Wardens we encountered helpful and friendly. The location, of course, was ideal, Coniston Water being a short walk away and for our bus-pass community a bus stop is located at the site entrance.  Overall, a very relaxing few days on an excellent site in outstanding surroundings. We shall have to return.

Lovely and peaceful

We came midweek not thinking there  be many on the site it was quite full but we found a nice spot and pitched up. We found the location excellent the facilities were immaculate but another toilet/ablutions block would be fantastic. A short walk brings you down onto coniston water and a lovely peaceful walk along its bank was delightful.two inns both 1.5 miles in either direction and the food was excellent ( not cheap I'm afraid) coniston village was a good walk but enjoyable. We will certainly be returning to this location so before I finish I would just point out that the staff were very helpful and polite

Great first trip

Thank you to the friendly, helpful staff at this site for a lovely first trip out in our first caravan. The site itself is in a great location just above the western shore of Coniston and although it is a large site, and was very full when we visited, it was still very quiet and peaceful. The toilets and showers were beautifully clean and well placed. We will definitely be returning...often!

Super site !!! hope to be back soon

We visited this site for two night over the weekend. There was plenty of pitches to pick from and all had good locations. The site was well set out with plenty of space per pitch. Toilet and shower block was spotless just what you expect at a Caravan club site, it didn't disappoint at all. Super location for a nice walk into Coniston. Wards we met were very friendly. All in all a super weekend and its definitely on our list to come back to. Thank you !!!

Smashing site

Recently visited and very much enjoyed. What a lovely site in a great location. Many thanks to the wardens who were very helpful. As mentioned by another review the steak pie from the mobile chippy was great! We'll be back ????

Excellent location - but choose your pitch carefully

We've just returned from a few days in the Lakes and Coniston Park Coppice is ideally located for the southern lakes area, being just down the road from Coniston village and a few miles from Ambleside. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the facilities excellent; spotlessly clean, warm with loads of hot water. The only problem we had was with the clarity of pitch layout, or rather lack of clarity! The site was quiet when we arrived, maybe only one quarter full, and we chose a pitch in one of the small groupings. We set up, as directed, next to the pitch marker - the adjacent pitch was empty. A couple of days later when we returned from a day out we found we had new neighbours who also had set up next to their pitch marker.  The only problem was that their front window was just a couple of metres from ours - so no adequate fire break there then! We are new to caravanning and no doubt, with experience, we would have spotted the potential problem.  Maybe we were unlucky to choose pitch number 27 but I do think the Club should look at this. By the way, the steak pie from the visiting caterer on Fridays is excellent!

beautiful site

Lovely site and well cared for.  My only gripe is that some staff (not all - most were lovely) were a little bit 'jobsworth'  My husband was sent out of both the reception and loo because he had the dog with him.  In reception he was told it was because there was food in the room next door.  We had just had some lovely food in a cafe in Coniston where the owners treated the dog to a biscuit, so couldnt see sense in that one.  My husband went in to use the loo on the way back from the dogwalk, but again 'no dogs allowed'  Was he supposed to leave the dog unattended and tied up outside? I hope we are considerate and responsible dog owners, but we did feel a bit like naughty children by the manner in which the rules were barked at us.
