We stayed there for 3 days last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The site is a large one in a wood but it feels like a small one due to the wooded location. It is based next to Coniston water and there is plenty of excellent walking around. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again.
Spring break
I stayed for 3 days last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The site is in a large wood so you have the feeling of being in a smaller site. It is based next to Coniston Water and there is plenty of lovely walking around. The wardens are extremely helpful and friendly. We will go back again.
Beautiful cumbria
We have just spent 5 wonderful days at this site. Lovely friendly wardens, lots of options for pitches, toilet blocks immaculate couldn't praise the site enough. Ideal for walking, no need to get into the car, plenty of pubs and cafes within walking distance, will be back again in June.
Lovely Site
This is a lovely site in a beautiful setting. As we were there in March it was very quiet which suited us, however as we don't have children with us we felt that in high season it was probably not a site for us as it would possibly be a lot less quiet. Having said that the scenery is lovely & as it is so near the lake there are some great walks, especially if you have a dog, although they need to be kept on a lead a lot of the time due to all the sheep. We saw deer & other wild life & it is right in the middle of some stunning country side. The staff were friendly & helpful & we recommend it highly.
Great for the Old Man!
A lovely site, steep and awkward in places and a lot of the pitches are gravelled with slate chips but it's the Lakes, what do you expect? A well maintained site with friendly staff. An easy walk down to Coniston, through a field of campers in tents, (a different site) who sometimes don't appear to look after the countryside they have the benefit of camping in! Well worth a visit.
First Trip of the year
Just returned from five nights at Park Coppice. Superb site in a wonderful location. This early in the year it was quiet which made choosing a pitch from the many varied areas on site very difficult - too much choice! Facilities were spotless. Walk to Coniston was excellent. A meal at the Ship was good, some walk on narrow road in the dark however.
We are coming back here in June, it was that good.
reccommended.
A Gem of a site. Beautiful.
This has to be one of the must visit sites. The site has good roads throughout and plenty of space as the site is well spread out through national trust managed woodland. Staff friendly and very helpful, shop well stocked with the basics. The toilets and all other facilities were immaculate. There are multiple toilet blocks with numerous water/waste rubbish areas all immaculate. I came away for first time to the Coniston area with dogs and family and we will be coming back here many times.
A good place for Anniversaries
This is the third year running that we have spent our wedding anniversary at this site. This time it was our Silver Wedding and as usual we had a wonderful time at the site. At this time of year the area is much less busy reflected in the fact that only about a quarter of the pitches were available and only one of the three wash and toilet facilities on site was open. The walking direct from the site here is extensive and varied which is why we love it. Also not very far afield there are hundreds more areas for walkers.
On site there is a variety of wildlife and with the site so quiet we saw at least 3 Roe deer wandering about the empty pitches. The woodpeckers were very busy and our bird feeder was visited by bluetits, great tits, coal tits, chaffinches, Nuthatch and robins.
The site is well laid out with numerous pitching areas among the trees on a number of terraces. This means that although the site is a very big one there is no feel ing of being crowded. The facilities are spotless as always on club sites and the wardens were very welcoming, again as always.
We will probably return for our 26th but hope to be there again much sooner than that.

Peaceful....perfect
Great site location. Walk into Coniston either route was easy, although may be a little muddy and uneven underfoot for some. We planned a weekend of walking and routes started from the site. Coniston far less commercial than other Lakeside villages but good range of shops and pubs. The Ship on route into Coniston was lovely. We didnt eat there but diners were praising the quality. At the site Wardens welcoming and helpful in finding a pitch. Site is well maintained and we would love to see the trees it in other seasons. Toilets immaculate. We will certainly be back.

A Lovely Break
We stayed from 1st March for 6 nights and found the temporary wardens, Alan and Dee extremely friendly and helpful. The site and facilities were of a very high standard and would make us keen to return again. After talking to Alan and Dee and experiencing their hospitality, we are very interested in visiting their site in Exmoor. The site is well located for some fasinating walks, especially the Old Man of Coniston, the local beer after these walks are very welcoming
