First Timers!!

So pleased we chose Coniston Park Coppice as our very first site with our caravan. We had a lovely welcome at reception and the wardens were very helpful. It's situated in beautiful woodland and our grandsons just loved it.  The site is very tidy and the showers/washrooms are spotless...would we go back?? too right we would.

Wow what a site!

Wow what a site, just returned from a weeks holiday here with the kids in our new van. Weather wasn't great, rained on an evening, but that didn't dampen any spirits. We found a quiet spot next to the tent area which was great for the kids as there was no traffic and the park could be seen from our window! Facilities are immaculate and we took advantage of the baby and toddler wash facilities, very impressed. Fish & chip van on site on selected days. Walk down to lake is lovely and there are plenty of places to picnic along the lake shore. Road to site can be a bit hairy, lots of bends and twists and narrow bits! Overall a beautiful site, kids asking when can they go back!

Beautiful, if a bit wet

The site the staff and facilities, 100% flawless. A lot of thought has gone into the layout of this park, we camped in a quaint little corner with a stream running by. Idyllic. However after five days of rain, tree cover blocking out the light, we started to go stir crazy. 1. Consider a little natural light when choosing a pitch. 2. Have a plan B. of things to do and visit when its raining. Dog walking beside the front entrance is a safe field (when not full of sheep) and out the rear entrance is access to the lake, public footpaths and safe dog walk areas. Boating / Kayak canoe. Via the rear entrance and a couple of hundred metres across an adjoining camp site is an easy launch area to the water. we popped the kayak on the roof and drove it. The only restriction is not to leave trailers parked on this other camp site while on the water, they can be parked just inside the rear gate, of the Coppice so not to inconvenient. What a beautiful area.

Drive of your life

Great site. Great facilities which were very well looked after and clean, great for the children with loads of space to ride around and play parks. A field for ball games would be an advantage. Pitch was ok for size , would prefere some super pitches. The journey is not for the faint hearted for the last 6 miles, had to reverse twice to allow trucks and coaches through. It's very tight in places !!!!

Great Summer Break

Recently spent a week at this site, first time up to the Lakes for three years, and what a gem of a site! Pitches are scattered around in a cleverly random way, often giving three sides of privacy. A five minute walk from beautiful Coniston water, good facilities, friendly wardens - just wish we could book the weather. Our cocker spaniel had the time of his life. We will return

Park Coppice-brilliant

Although fairly busy and with lots of children around, the site was very peaceful and quiet. The facilities were excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the location excellent with easy access to the shore. there and will return.

A stay at Coniston

Staff were very friendly, and  helpful on one of the biggest sites of the Caravan Club. Unfortunately the site is covered in trees and not only keeps out the sun but also much of the day light. I like trees but you really are under a canopy which severely restricts the amount of light to the forest floor. Great site for visiting Ambleside,  Coniston, High Farm, and  Hawkshead etc to name a few.  The road in from the south towing a caravan is not for the feint hated. It is very narrow, twisty, and has blind summits. You must be prepared to squeeze between high hedges and other vehicles approaching you with some travelling quickly.  We won't be back, preferring other lake district sites,  but I'm sure many will.

Wet

This is our 2nd time here. We have seen it in winter, and loved it, we wanted to see it in summer. It rained constantly but is still a beautiful place. The wardens are superb, the area is absolutely amazing and the site seems very peaceful despite its size. The layout of the park means there are small clusters of caravans offering good privacy.  This is probably my favourite club site so far but it's going to be fun trying to find a better one!!!!

Coniston Park ~ Trees and Tranquility

This is no landscaped garden setting but it is a stunningly beautiful and restful location. Extremely well ordered and run like clockwork by the staff team. The site leans towards family accommodation but there are plenty of quiet pitches out in the open or under the canopy of the trees. We had particularly wet weather … non stop rain for 48 hours ~  bouncing down. We walked, visited three National Trust sites ~ Town End Farmhouse  (You have to visit this house and grounds!) Allan Bank at Grassmere and Sizergh Castle All 3 NT properties are great for rainy days or indeed any day. Folk with youngsters will also enjoy the Pencil Museum at Keswick. Coniston is a very large and busy site but the staff are like those swans on the lake … paddling away like crazy but appearing calm on the surface. At busy times staff are zipping around behind the reception desk despatching members to various pitches with haste. This took us by surprise but then realised that they have a lot to do and are not being brusque ~ for in the quieter moments they are as friendly and helpful as you could wish for. The site shop is a real strength. A very above average range of groceries and other items. Very well stocked.A boon for the semi forgetful~ like us. Thank You
