Great place

Stayed for 4 nights in October. The site is large and well spaced with very helpful wardens. The cleanliness of the facilities is remarkable - it's hard to understand how they keep everything so pristine. Location is good. Coniston and Torver are within an attractive (off road) easy 40 minute walk. Great pubs in both Coniston and Torver. Coniston is well connected by a good bus service covering the central lakes. Only improvement would be complimentary Wi-Fi - but this is perhaps a club wide issue.

Booked for 1 night stayed for 4

Went here last week, October, as we stayed midweek we found a secluded spot in the woods so very peaceful and quiet. The site was lovely, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. We walked from the site each day so didn't have to move the camper van and in 4 days walked 56 miles in dry weather. As this was our first holiday in the van we enjoyed getting helpful hints from other members in the site over washing up in the special washing up room!

Simply the BEST!!!

Peace & tranquillity itself, if people get on your nerves, THIS IS THE PLACE, I don’t think I seen five people in the 7 nights we were there. The approach to the site can be a bit tricky if you’re not used to towing, (Narrow roads, better to come in from the South, if you can) but other than that, GREAT!! We found the staff very friendly, helpful & polite who kept the site really well maintained. Really nice walk into Coniston village, had lunch in a café where DOGS are welcome.

cant believe its that big

Stayed here for a few days while touring really cant believe it has 252 pitches it just seemed smaller as they are tucked away in small groups in amongst the trees, the wardens keep the site and toilet blocks in great condition, and they (the wardens) are great as I left my water tank cap of my motorhome there, which they found and posted it on to me at my next location- many thanks

Fantastic site

We stayed 4 nights and the staff could not be more helpful they are a credit to our club.My son stayed for 2 nights and he was blown away with the facilities and how clean they were. The approach roads to the site are narrow in both directions so better to approach from the south if you can.We both had inflateables with engines and found the national trust car park near Torver was just right to inflate and launch the boats.Would go back again

Fantastic site for walking the fells

This site is ideally located between the villages of Coniston and Torver - both of which are about a 15 minute walk of the site.  There is a fantastic pub in Torver (Wilson's Arms) and there are a number of good pubs in Coniston too, as well as an Indian restaurant.  Although the site is large, it doesn't feel busy because of its layout and its position in a National Trust woodland, by the edge of Coniston Water, is idyllic.  The facilities are incredibly clean and the staff are all very friendly.  The access to the fells is incredible - Coniston Old Man is easily reached from the site.  We had a fantastic two weeks here and will definitely be returning again -for longer!

Great site in a beautiful location

Held up on M6 so didnt arrive until after dark. Woke up to find we had lucked out on a great pitch (102) close to facilities and lakeside.  This is a great site for getting close to nature - lots of trees, streams flowing through site and a short walk to the lakeside. Facilities were very clean and of a high standard. Loved this site and will definitely return.

Wonderful Cumbria

Just returned from a fortnight at Park Coppice , our first time in Cumbria for many years. What a great holiday ! Site position is superb and the staff are second to none . Facilities first class . Only moan is my fellow club members , driving too fast, not controlling dogs, not clearing up behind them when using facilities. That said we had a great time, site is not level and is shady ,but that is obvious from the detail on line ! Don't listen to the moaning reviews they obviously had not done their homework.

sub standard

Here for 8 nights . This site is in poor condition, no pitches are easy to access and most are uneven and sloping. These are mostly in a poor state of repair and we had a stream running through our awning after a night of rain, twice. Toilet/shower blocks were good and clean but only half the cubicles were available for use. Why ? to make things easier for the site crew.
