Always a winner

We have been to this site several times. The staff are friendly and the facilities a clean and well looked after. A great location for walking/riding into Coniston Village. It is also a great location to go and visit the numerous lake district sites. Only one small issue- There isn't a squeegee/mop in the toddler bathroom.

Other than that we'll be back again next year.Cool

Brilliant location and very clean!

We have visited this site many times. The location is brilliant and the facilities are spotless. This can't be an easy site to look after due to it's size/the elements yet the wardens do a fantastic job. Must remember to get the code for the drying room next time though!

Location, facilities and staff all top notch!

Our first visit to this site and we were delighted with its location, the provision and cleanliness of facilities and the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Close to the lake through the adjacent camp site and a short walk into Coniston (where we bought the most delicious fudge!). You can launch your small dinghy/ canoes within a couple of hundred metres from the site. Many local pubs for food and a fish and chip trailer on Tuesday's and Friday's from 6 to 8 ( although we were lucky to be served on a rainy Tuesday at 7pm as it was so popularly on a very rainy evening and they ran out of everything!) Levelling blocks and blocks to ensure that caravan steadies can reach the ground are necessary. The staff were outstandingly helpful when we had to return home early due to family illness.

Walkers paradise!

This was our first time in the lakes and it did not disappoint. The site itself is very large but with all the pitch's spread out into little clusters in amongst trees, it does not make it feel as busy as it probably is. Be warned though, levelling blocks will most likely be required on most of the pitch's. The wardens were very helpful and did an excellent job of keeping the site tidy, of which the facilities were excellent, with a drying room also available to dry wet walking gear - Very useful after a hard day walking the lakes! Coniston water and town is within walking distance, Coniston itself having a good selection of pubs serving food. A fish & chip van also visit's twice weekly and is a nice treat at the end of a nice day out. We walked the 'Old man' from the site itself. Scafell Pike was 40mins away by car (Wasdale) and is a challenging climb. The site is positioned perfectly for touring the lakes - Tarn Hows, Ambleside, Windermere & Grasmere are all close by.

Great site in great area.

This is quite simply our favourite Caravan Club site. Our two border collies like it too, particularly the lakeside path less than five walking minutes from the site.

First visit.

This was our first visit to this site and it certainly will not be our last. Everywhere was impeccably kept and clean, the staff were most friendly and helpful and the tranquility was all pervading. Our main reason for visiting was because my wife was cycling The Ride Of The Falling Leaves, 60 miles with 6000ft of ascent. I mention this because whilst we were there it was so peaceful that you could hear the leaves falling. A splendid place to visit!
