great site

We stayed here for 4 nights. We cannot fault it in any way. From arrival to leaving it was brilliant, only thing that let it down was the weather. The staff are amazing and very friendly, explained everything to us. We could go and find our own pitch instead of been told where to park like on most sites we have stayed. Facilities are cleaned every day and very modern. the bins are emptied on a regular basis, there was always a staff member doing something around the site. There is a little shop that sells everything you need and a fish and chip van comes 3 x weekly. There are a couple of play parks for the children too situated around the park. A couple of minutes walk away was the lake (which has access for a vehicle, if like us, like to go kayaking). There was a pub about 3/4 mile up road and the village of Coniston is a 20 minute walk away. All in all an excellent site for anyone who wants a short or long break away. Would definitely recommend

Lovely site

This was our first visit to this lovely site. We found the access in with our 7.5m motorhome to be eay enough and there was a great choice of pitches. We had a walk to the shore of Coniston which is literally only a couple of minutes and then a walk in to Coniston centre which took about 15-20 mins. We rounded off the night with some chips from the little van near reception. Great site

A site with two characters.

We arrived on this site during the last half term, it was almost full and we ended up on a pitch facing the gas tanks. The wardens were very helpful and suggested that pitch as it was away from the play parks. The site for the first three days was noisy until ten at night with children in the play park and remember we were away from them. The half term ended, the site emptied out, we moved our pitch to a beautiful location and the next ten days were wonderful there. The site and toilets were kept clean by a great group of wardens who were always cheerful and helpful. I would certainly go back there but would make certain it wasn't in the school holidays.

Difficult access

We found Coniston Park to be a beautifully situated site, very well run with helpful efficient staff, however, we doubt we would visit again because of the very narrow, winding and busy road approaching the site.

Excellent site. Facilities excellent although need a bigger soap dispenser in the toilets because it had run out everyday until cleaned again. Location was great for Coniston Lake. Overall walk to village & down to main part of lake and back to site approx 7.5 mile.  Pitches were all different sizes, get there early so you can take your pick.  No grass pitches. Great site for kids, different types of play areas scattered around the site. Definitely be going again.

Peace and quiet.

Beautiful setting, walks on your doorstep, walking distance to village no need to use the car really. Site spotlessly clean, staff very helpful, very peaceful location. Great for our 1st trip in our caravan we will return.

First visit

We took our Motorhome to this site for its maiden voyage and our first experience of this sort. The location is beautiful and the site blends in with the surroundings in a seemless manner. The sites are very generous and we parked in an area many times the size of the Motorhome. We stayed seven nights just after bank holiday and could not believe how quiet it was. The staff were extremely helpful. The whole site was immaculately clean, especially the toilet/shower blocks which were a delight to use. We will return and are happy to recommend it.

Good site

We stayed here for four nights....mixed weather. Toilets clean and tidy. Large pitches. Not regimented like some site lay outs. Lovely area, plenty walking from site. Nice tree covered site.

just a good place to stop

Pre-booked the excellent weather, which broke as we were leaving after six days on 10 June. Site spotless as were facilities. Staff cheerful and helpful. Three food pubs within walking distance, even got a lift back to site by one landlady, as is Torver and Coniston with their water based facilities. Hail-and-Ride Ulverston - Coniston bus will stop at site entrance. Shortish walk down to the Lakeside from our base at the top of the site, but could be a hike when you come back up-hill. Be prepared to Give Way on narrow roads either side and pull in if a queue forms behind your unit. Be considerate. Thoroughly recommended. Preston motor-homer.
