Good site

Stayed for 2 weeks. Good facilities, usual Caravan Club high standards. Large site with many trees. Can be difficult to find a pitch not under trees and in the sun (when it shines). One small gripe is large number of seasonal pitches utilizing the prime pitches.

Can't fault

This site has almost everything so long as you can pick your spot! There are many types of pitch within this very large and meandering site. If you have kids and want to be near the play area or want to get as far away, it is possible. We were lucky and got a quiet spot with no other caravans in the same bay. We put up our bird feeding station and were rewarded with masses of woodland birds; Linnets, Chaffinches, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Coal Tits, etc. We could have spent the entire holiday watching them. In the evening we would take a gentle stroll along the side of Coniston Lake. The club facilities are up the usual high standard with a clean modern shower block and friendly helpful staff. The only down side is those tedious ever winding narrow roads of the lake district, but the that is, of course, beyond the club's control!

Can't ask for a better site!!

We have stayed in a number of Caravan Club Sites and this was one of the best, great location, a short walk down to Coniston lake shore, 30mins stroll to the pier for boat trips, the site facilities clean and very spacious, the pitches werebigger than most sites we've been so far, and the staff, so so nice, highly recommend this site.

As good as it gets.

A lovely site, close to the delightful Lakeland village of Coniston. After previously staying on a site in Bowness, it was good to be in the 'real' Lake District. The facilities are the best that I have seen, and never crowded. One concern that I had was, Could I launch my dinghy from the site? You can, by driving into the adjacent camp site.(via two gates) We enjoyed bar meals at the Church House in Torver and the Black Bull in Coniston. We visited the Ruskin Museum (£6 entry) and admired a rally of old British sports cars. (all of the owners were Belgian) We ended each day's activity by drinking Earl Grey tea, sitting outside of the Bluebird cafe.

Our first Caravan Club site - can't wait for the next!!

With new caravan, awning and equipment loaded up we looked forward to our first CC site stay and the Lakes is one of our favourite places. Although the weather was biblical at times (!) the staff and facilities were so good we actually extended our stay. Facilities - outstanding, so clean. Staff - incredibly friendly, can't do enough and always around the site doing maintenance, cleaning etc. We loved the 'non-regimented' pitch layout. If this is a typical Caravan Club site, I can't wait to try more. Well done Caravan Club and many, many thanks Coniston Park Coppice!!!

Lovely site

Lovely, peaceful site with plenty of space, close to the lake. Very friendly, helpful site staff. Facilities were clean and tidy. Our only issue was the lack of transport available, we phoned 5 different taxi services and couldn't get a taxi Into Coniston and the bus only comes every other hour. We did end up walking into Coniston which is an hour round walk, which was lovely but not if you're not a big walker. Apart from that we loved our stay and will defiantly be returning.

great for walks

Great site for all walkers. We enjoyed the walk to Coniston along the lake shore and a hill walk up Coniston Old Man and back to the Coppice via a nice pub lunch in Torvey. Super real ale at the Black Bull in Coniston - made on the premises. Site itself peaceful with friendly staff in office/shop and super-clean toilet block. Pity you can't see Coniston Water from the Coppice.

Lovely Coniston

Lovely site set in Coniston Park coppice. Friendly helpfule staff. Nice pitch near to the upper toilet block. 15 mins to walk in to Coniston. I walked the Coniston round (16m) directly from the campsite. Lovely pubs, hotels, and shops in nerby Coniston. Will be back!!

dark and dismal

As usual a fab site well maintained but to dark and dismal to many trees and shaded areas that do not let the sun penetrate through (even when we we do get sun ).The whole site needs to be thinned out.

Always Five Star

Been coming here since 1993, site has moved on in its facilities since those days! Janet and Carl and their team are a great asset to an amazing site. If you love the lakes you will love Park Coppice.
