Stayed here for 2 nights over bonfire night weekend. This is our 2nd visit to the site. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The site is brilliantly laid out amongst the trees rather than in rows like most sites. From the other side of the lake you can hardly make out where the site is rather than standing out like a blot on the landscape. Plenty of walking can be done from the site. The toilet/washing facilities were spotless and really warm which is great in November when it is cold and damp outside. Highly recommend this site and look forward to returning again.
stayed here for 8 nights in oct 2016
a lovely site found it a bit daunting finding a suitable pitch for my motorhome i had not booked for an awning so was informed i could only pitch on a blue peg site trying to find one was time consuming i had difficulty fitting on them with a 25 foot van.but the positives outway any negatives.great location.flat safe walk into village. following morning was kindly at no extra cost allowed to move onto a larger pitch. The staff were very helpful and friendly.i will return in the future.
Went for a night; should have been a week
We are new to the area so had no preconceptions but were drawn to the sight due to proximity to the lake and local amenities. Despite getting to the site a little early, we were made to feel very welcome and given recommendations from the staff. Our site, positioned snuggly in the trees (site 39) was a short walk to the lakeside which gave us the opportunity to see sunrise and sunset. The pitch was pretty level and facilities to empty grey waste and top up water for our motorhome were close to our pitch. We felt instantly at home and would have loved to stay longer. We shall be back.

Lovely site, even though it is huge there are lots of trees which make it feel much smaller. Autumn colours are wonderful. The wardens are very helpful and friendly. Site is right beside the cumbria way and one of the walks up the old man starts just opposite the reception building. We are already planning when to come back next year. Fish and chip van is great, though he has now finished for the winter. The Church House Inn in Torver is very nice - low beams and open fire. The only thing that I would change is the need for a key to enter the toilet block.
Super short break....again
We had a wonderful stay at Park Coppice, walked on Cumbria Way in Langdale Valley and took over 100 photos on a fabulous stroll round Tarn Hows.
Site very good except for the common problem of a hard sub-strata of large stones only a few cm under the surface of hard standings. Even a large hammer just bounced off the metal pegs. Facilities well up to C.C. standard. Fish & chip van was brilliant, but give your order clearly, probably three times, one of the crew is somewhat hard of hearing.
Leaving the site watch for the large tree which has grown through the left side kerb near the exit onto the main road. It's out to get the unwary.
Peace and beauty
Brilliant site wardens, truly lovely. Fantastically located site with the lakeside only a couple of hundred metres from the lowest pitches. Have just enjoyed a lovely short break but want to come back asap to enjoy the sheer beauty of Lake Coniston and surrounds. Usual outstandingly high quality of shower blocks and other facilities that I take for granted on CC sites but are always very welcome especially after a long walk on the fells in the wind and rain. A mobile fish and chip van visits betw 5pm and 7pm on Tue/Fri & Sat. I highly recommend the homemade steak pie with gravy which was scrumptious. The haddock and chips were a bit bland though but were freshly cooked with high standards of hygiene and excellent banter from the guys serving up. Pitches aren't enormous and mostly under tree branches which in the high wind and rain peppered the roof of the van with acorns which was darn noisy. Obviously won't be a problem outside autumn. The site isn't very attractive, it looks a bit messy and stark but hey, once away from the van the countryside around it more than makes up for it and the site is only for sleeping in isn't it? Coniston isn't huge but it has the best cafe I have ever visited, The Green Housekeeper is wonderful. Lovely staff and lovelier food, please visit, you won't be disappointed. Walking in the fells is a doddle from the site with the lower reaches of Coniston Old Man less than a mile from the gate. We will definitely be back to this CC site if only for another slice of that steak pie.....
Great
Arrived on the 22nd of October for seven nights. Check in was very efficient and advice on finding pitch very helpful. The site is huge and pitches are set into culdisacs with plenty of room. Toilet block and showers very clean and well kept. Staff very helpful. The site has direct access to Coniston lake with lovely walks. We were fortunate with the weather during our stay which made all the walking more enjoyable. The only noise we heard at night was the odd acorn falling from the trees onto the roof of the caravan. Tried the visiting fish and chip van on Friday very nice and tasty. Can't wait to return

Thoroughly enjoyed Park Coppice
This is my second visit to Park Coppice and it didn't disappoint even although the weather wasn't the best. The wardens are excellent, they make you feel very welcome. There is plenty to do, especially all the lovely walks within easy reach. And so close to the shores of Coniston Lake. A great all rounder!

Coppice Park
We had a really enjoyable time at Coniston. Lots of places to visit. Spectacular scenery and autumn colours were lovely. Site facility's always very clean even though it was busy. The bottom gate for walking by lake and getting into village was very handy. Wifi was excellent. We even saw a red squirrel climbing a tree one morning when we were having breakfast. A site we will be visiting again.
Gorgeous location
A beautiful location & peaceful site. We've just back from a week for the half term and although the site was full you would never have known it!
We made excellent use of the gate access meaning we could put our canoe in on Coniston Water very easily!!
The only thing I would say is that as all the pitches are individual & in different parts of the wood (we loved!) if you left it late & had a big van you may struggle to find a big enough or flat enough pitch!
Definitely one for us to return to - just arrive early!
