First time on this site ~ really lovely place to be ~ Staff welcoming, friendly and helpful, Coniston Lake not to far nor is walking to the village ~ hire a boat, boat trips , cycling, canoeing ~ spoilt for choice, plus lots more ~ something for everyone,
Need a good week to explore and visit places.
Well worth the visit.
Best site we have been on, massive variety of pitches, drive around a few times before you park up, loads of space between pitches, yes some uneven but lots very flat, good choice of pitches in small cul de sacs or on the main thoroughfare. Fantastic walks into Coniston and Torver, both with great pubs. If you are seeking the clinical regimented rows of pristine white boxes on neatly trimmed lawn then probably not for you, but if you love the trees and a slightly more rugged setting then this site is for you, the clue is in the title 'coppice'........
If you like your touring pitch to be:
Muddy
Un level
Half mile round walk to facilities (if in between blocks at top and bottom of site)
Completely enclosed by tall trees
No views whatsoever
Dark
No privacy between pitches,
Very steep
Then this is the site for you!!
Caravan Club, the pitches need a lot of attention to at least level them better (nobody expects perfection, but this is bad), and make drainage to stop incessant mud, it would help. Also of you're either half way down the site or at the top, it's much longer to the lake than stated
On the plus side, the facilities are spotless.

Coppice means managed woodland/forest. I cannot therefor understand members who moan about the site being dark and damp. It is a woodland in the Lake District after all.
Although the site has nearly 300 pitches it does not feel that big as most pitches are in small groups or along the side of the driveways through the site.
If you are lucky you may get a pitch in one of several clearings which therefor allow more sunlight onto the pitches.
The toilet blocks are up to the usual CC standards but some pitches are a bit of a walk away, so choose your pitch carefully.
The on site shop is well stocked but the shops in Coniston Village are only 1.5 miles away. A fish and chip van is on site Tuesdays and Fridays during the busier months which is a nice treat.
There are only a few off road cycling routes but many walking routes varying from a stroll along the lake to a days walk up the Old Man of Coniston.
I can recommend a walk to Torver and a coffee and cake at Deli/Cafe within The Wilson Arms.
Great site- one of our favorites!!
Just spent a week at Park Coppice - site is as stated a forest type - there are lots of different pitches to choose from private corners or open glades. Because of the trees it does create a dampness but heyho this is the beautiful Lakes. Great site for all outdoor activities - cycling, fell walking, boating it has it all. The site amenities were perfect and the wardens were a friendly helpful team. Love the cycle track on disused railway from site out to Torver and the PUB.
We found this site dark and dismal, not enough white peg pitches available and very difficult to get pegs in the ground, we were also disappointed with the toilet block why do the wardens lock off 5 showers, when people are queuing for showers. It is a very hilly site not what we expecting at all. The shop on site is very handy, with the lack of shops in the area.
We stopped at this site for 3 nights and found a suitable pitch difficult to find. The pitching areas are mostly dark and damp due to extensive over hanging trees. Most pitches are small uneven and awkward to access, if you are aware of this then you know what to expect but the site book description isn't accurate. The site facilities were good and the toilet blocks clean. It's a pity that members cannot clean out the showers after themselves which spoils the experience. We went for a meal at the Wilson Arms at Torver and can recommend it.
