Stayed in March 2017. Got a motorhome. Great site with individual hardstanding. Facilities spotless and well located. Great for walking the dog. Easy walk all Coniston Water to Coniston village. Boots needed as it is wet and rough walking. We will return when there are leaves on the trees.

Great Site and Ideal for the Kids
This was our first visit to Park Coppice. The site is fantastic and the shower blocks were very clean and nice and warm, which is always good in the middle of February. Many of the pitches have a slope, so leveling blocks are needed. Our kids loved the freedom and space to explore on their bikes.
The site is between Coniston and Torver, but both villages can be reached by footpath. The path to Conistion is very nice for either biking or walking, although there are a number of gates, which does make the bike ride a bit stop/start. We can recommend the Black Bull pub in Conistion and the Wilsons Arms in Torver for food.
The only slight niggle and this comes with all wooded sites, is that if it rains (which is highly likely in the Lakes), then it feels like the roof of the caravan is being bombarded with stones. Ear plugs for our next visit.
Short half term break with the kids.
As previously mentioned, some of the site is closed during off peak and we arrived late (within their arrival time) one Friday evening to find that all the pitches had been taken bar one. Due to the nature of the site being in the middle of the woods, the wardens explained they were quite relaxed about the way vans were positioned on pitches. We tried our best to get the caravan level on the last pitch available, but at just over 7.5m it was near impossible. We finally managed and ended up with the to hitch at waist height and the rear nearly touching the ground. The water pump would not reach the bottom of the barrel but we made do for one night. The wardens (relief wardens) managed to find us a couple of bricks to help level the van, but there was also plenty of rocks between the trees.
The following morning we managed to move to a much better pitch after another outfit had left.
As to be expected in February in the Lake District, the weather was wet for the whole time, something that does not bother us, but upon exploring the lower parts of the site we noticed that some pitches were starting to flood. Hopefully as the season progresses and the site opens up fully the weather would improve.
The facilities are what we have come to expect at CC sites, immaculately clean and very friendly and helpful wardens.
The roads are very narrow in places approaching, but this is mentioned in the guide book.
Plenty to do in the area, as long as you can travel around, or ideal for walkers. We walked down to Coniston waters a few times whilst we were there from a footpath at the bottom of the site.
TV signal is poor (aerial sockets are provided in power points), mobile phone signal is poor, excellent site for sitting quietly and reading.
In summary, a lovely location, some pitches are a bit small especially for larger outfits and not very level. Huge site with three washrooms open during peak season. Yes we would return time and time again, as long as we can level the van!
Relaxing break
We enjoyed the site and it was a pleasant walk along the lake into the village. It was excellent value for money too. We ate at " the Black Bull" in Coniston. The beer was good ( brewed here ) and food ok. No taxi available to take us home ( boohoo) , but cosy pub. Lots of other places to eat and drink, which we will try next time. Would be great in summer. Good shops and walks locally.
Lovely 4 night February break
Just returned from Coniston Park, Coppice caravan park, had a lovely break.
Facilities & surroundings where excellent, lovely country walks with brilliant scenery. This was our 1st adventure in our motorhome and we would definitely return another time.
Thank you to the wonderful attentive staff for all there assistance.

Perfect
We stayed for one night in January and have stayed in October too. The park is perfectly located, with easy access to local walks, a walk down to the lake and through the farm takes you to coniston village. There is also buses that stop at the park.
The park itself is set out well with plenty of room. It's peaceful even when busy. The facilities are warm and immaculate and the staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Will definitely go back!

Weekend In December
We came to stay the weekend of the 16th - 18th December. we were pre-warned about the journey to the site being a little tight and we were extremely relieved to avoid meeting another caravaner on the narrow, bendy road. Once at the site, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who provided us with a map of the site and advice of the best areas to choose from. As it was a quiet time of year we were able to choose a plot near to the toilet block which was ideal as we have a 3 year old. The bottom part of the site had been closed of to caravans, however, these areas were still open to explore on foot.
The toilet and shower block were extremely clean and, had it been busy, there were plenty of shower and toilet cubicles to meet demand. These were shut between 14:00 and 15:30 for cleaning. This was not a problem for us as we could use the toilet in the caravan.
The site has a couple of play areas for the children, unfortunately, due to the fog, these were wet when we visited them. I found that the equipment was designed for the younger children (up to 6yr olds). I also have a 12 yr old and 9yr old who spent their time exploring the woods.
As we only had 1 full day there, I really feel that to truly appriciate the fantastic site and surroundings, we needed to stay longer.
The site had a shop, however, the occasion we were going to visit it, it was shut. The warden, however, was eager to help us with what we needed. It turned out to be a repair item that they did not stock, but they were more than helpful in directing us to where we could get it from in the village.
We can highly recommend th black bull hotel for a meal in Coniston village. The food was fantastic and again, the staff and patrons were extremely friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend this site and we will certainly been visiting again (most probably out of the high season to avoid busy road conditions!!).
