I stayed here with my wife over a weekend in March. The weather was fantastic which makes a huge difference to a weekend away. But the staff here were really nice and friendly, on other club sites we've stayed at the staff have been a little "moody", but here they were all very helpful and done it all with a smile. The site itself is huge, with plenty of space between pitches and 2 excellent toilet blocks. Nice walk along the lake into the village too.

Great site
Big site set in beautiful woodland with spacious pitches easy walk to Coniston and Torver direct from site
Staff and facilities very good although need to question some club members how they leave the toilets (gents) but credit to the wardens pristine clean next day.
shop on site but was closed due to season no big shops around for food shopping but plenty of good pubs that serve excellent food Indian takeaway in Coniston was excellent ( only take cash payments )
I'm sure site looks even better late Spring / Summer
Look out for the wild deer early morning running in the wood it was a great to see
Would have been nicer if weather had been kinder.
We arrived 16th March for a three night stay. The staff were lovely and facilities were of the usual standard you expect from a C&M Club Site. Site is well located for walks but due to weather the paths were very muddy. The road is narrow and I wouldn't like to walk along it at dusk as there isn't a footpath. The weather had been reasonable but turned cold and wet soon after we arrived, so much so we cancelled our stay and left after one night. Had the weather been different I'm sure we would have stayed longer. There's not a lot in Coniston village bar for a couple of shops, pubs and a few cafes. We took a gamble going in March and sadly it didn't work for us but as stated if the weather had been drier and warmer I would have written a better review but I don't blame the staff for the weather.
Coniston site
Just returned from three days on this site, even though it was not fully opened the wardens made sure you got a very warm welcome and ensured the facilities were always clean and plenty of hot water. Would certainly recommend this site to family and friends, and will definitely be returning

Mid week stay in March
My wife, Amanda, me and our dog stayed for 4 nights in early March 2017. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, they provided us with maps of local walks, which were extremely useful.
The site itself has a main road into Coniston just outside the gate, this is reasonably busy and does not have a footpath, so to walk into the village by these means is dangerous. There is a signed alternative public footpath through fields, but this was very wet and muddy, while we were there. Therefore, we had to use the car more than we had intended.
At the time we were there, the site had the National Trust working, and a large part of the site was closed. That which was open had more then enough facilities available for the amount of people staying, and the facilities were kept very clean. The negative point was, there was no facility for cleaning our dog, (there is a shower for dogs at the Castleton site).
The local pubs serve good standard of food and their staff are friendly and welcoming.
Overall our stay at Coniston Park Coppice was very enjoyable and we will definitely return in the near future.
Soggy stop in March
Our first time here, Mid March, so very quiet as only 60ish of the pitches were open. Lovely warden, great weekend despite the near constant drizzle.
Visited three local pubs, all of which are very dog friendly, The Ship inn at Bowmanstead, The Black Bull @ Coniston and The Wilsons @ Torver, all great bit totally different!
Will return when weather better!
A wonderful place
Stayed in March 2017. Got a motorhome. Great site with individual hardstanding. Facilities spotless and well located. Great for walking the dog. Easy walk all Coniston Water to Coniston village. Boots needed as it is wet and rough walking. We will return when there are leaves on the trees.
